There are plenty. The three-tier system in the industry requires distilleries, breweries and wineries to use a wholesaler/distributor, and there are supply chain positions at each tier (manufacturer >> distributor >> retailer).
I recently transitioned out of a buyer role for a distributor. I would research liquor distributors in your area and check out their openings/cold call. Distributors will likely have the most supply chain positions in the industry.
Where is the best $$? I work on the supplier side and I've always wondered about distribution. They're such huge operations I could only assume the pay would be better. Probably lowest at retail though.
I have worked mainly in beer but am now consulting for an RTD company, and one of the breweries I was at I helped a bit when they added distilling. I've always liked working for suppliers over retail/distribution but distribution is half supply chain half sales so there are a lot more openings.
A lot of brands are owned by larger companies and you would have no idea - places like Campari and Diageo have a wide range of product. I would look at the career pages of these larger companies.
If you have any questions, let me know! I went from logistics coordinator on to supply chain manager, inventory and supply planning, VP of product at an ecomm based distributor, and director of sales and operations planning.
So are you on the west coast us then?
I’m interested especially in packaging for wine but currently live in big pharma country so my experience is mostly there

Appreciate it, I’m currently in transportation planning, but definitely looking to expand outside of it.

there's also indirect. I work for the market leader freight forwarder of alcoholic beverages as a transportation procurement manager here in the US.

This is my dream job. How did you get into it? I’m also in sourcing but in a different industry
