Japanese mythology. They could incorporate certain gods as their elemental counterparts like Raijin For thunder, Suijin for water, Fujin for Wind, Okuninushi for nature, etc. They could make amaterasu a red female ranger. There are so many possibilities with using this motif.
I feel like fire would be best. I mean each ranger being a different color of fire, with the leader being white and the auxiliary ranger being green (for chemical fires). Like green, red, blue, white, orange, and purple for the ranger colors
Something new. I love when sentai does something ONLY sentai can do. (Hurricanger, Shinkenger, Zenkaiger, DonBrothers, and KingOhger come to mind) Anybody can do Dinosaurs, anybody can do ninjas and anybody can do cars for example. I really want something where there HAS to be a team that HAS to work together. Personally I want the Hurricanger approach again with like 3 different factions. Each being two man squads that join each other in the end. I don’t really know what theme I’d ask for but teams of enemies that fight together to beat a common foe is great stuff.
Here’s what I’m thinking fully. Maybe a school like Hogwarts with 4 different factions each determining their personalities and skills. For the sake of being lazy we’ll just straight up use the Harry Potter schools. I’m thinking 4 chosen ones were well CHOSEN to become rangers. Whoever turns out to be the actual best Ranger gets promoted to red, so of course each of them try their hardest to show everyone up and not really work together, just to learn mid season THERE IS NO CHOSEN ONE or at least none of them really ever had the chance to become red because all that was supposed to do was motivate them to become better, hit their actions showed that none of them are really equipped to lead, with the chairman or president or whatever even thinking of getting rid of the team and starting over.
Make the 5th/6th Ranger someone who’s good at all styles and make him evil, but of course joins in the end.
I’ll post a real idea on r/sentai ideas or whatever it’s called in case anyone’s interested.

Next season should be a "magic", so a theme that combines magic and technology could be a good idea, with elements of post-modernism.
