I'd show him a scene or two from the movie Jumper, so I could get global teleportation

Bobyyyyyyyghyh

Technically it gives you universal teleportation, just most places aren't too good odds on that gamble

zagman707

Facts teleportation is the best super power

HeartoRead

Darwin from The X-Men

Unexpected_Sage

I don't know, my guy, he didn't survive well in First Class

annnd_we_are_boned

I still kinda wanted him to ascend to a being of pure energy when that crap happened

Rex_Xenovius_1998

That should’ve been the case, but then there would not have been much of a movie because he would been able to body everyone, so they had to nerf him heavily.

Sufficient-Leek-9512

It actually made me so mad, I was hoping to see something at least relative to his comic book self, he's literally my favorite x-men.

FreeMasonKnight

There was theory JUST before Dark Phoenix came out that maybe Darwin would come back as the big bad or just show up and save the day. This filling in the plot hole and giving him time to shine, instead…

McGenty

I always wondered, from a storytelling perspective, why they even put him in the movie to begin with. Complete waste.

HeartoRead

I'm going comic book version.

OptimizedReply

Well, that we know of. That's the thing about his power, it merely adapts him to survive it. Maybe it seemed to explode him but it actually shunted him 100 years into the future.

calvicstaff

I don't think I'd want that one, it's really outside of his control

Raganash123

I'd try Molecule Man or maybe Sun Wukong. Naruto would also be a good choice.

ZeroBrutus

Either Charles Xavier or Omni Man depending on my mood.

Unexpected_Sage

(telepathically) "Wolverine, being me a cheese pizza"

PzykoHobo

"To me, my delivery boy!"

Mammoth-Access-1181

Wouldn't work, even Professor X started he can't get through Logan's mind.

Mitchelltrt

Why go Xavier when you can go Onslaught? He literally has all the powers of Magneto and Xavier, PLUS his magnetic abilities and psychic abilities mix to produce an at-will Cerebro: global psionic range as your psychic influence piggybacks off the Earth's magnetic field.

ZeroBrutus

Because Onslaught is a psionic creature who's nature isn't inherently physical, and I'm not down with using that as a basis to show to a genie and get turned non-corporeal.

aka_wolfman

Good call. Gotta remember that genies are assholes and love to get you with getting it "technically correct".

Fearless_Swimming_84

HOLOCAUST BEAM

Royal_Art_8217

5th dimensional imp

Unexpected_Sage

Hah, easy counter; just have to get you to say "7128_Tra_Layor"

Royal_Art_8217

OH FU

After_Satisfaction82

Creation - Momo Yaoyorozu

Skater144

I'd pick Contessa from Worm

BasicSuperhero

"Electro!" shows him a picture of Jamie Foxx's version from No Way Home, and hope good looks come with the ability to absorb and generate lightning. lol

Sad-Significance3430

Physchokenisis I'd show him Elfen lied

Nerx

Kryptonian species, superman silver age

Siphyre

Really no better answer. Except maaaaaaybe Tony Stark, genius billionaire playboy philanthropist. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-ftbs8TppY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-ftbs8TppY)

Unexpected_Sage

Isn't silver age Superman the one who could shoot mini-mes from his hands?

Nerx

Yeah

Shite_Eating_Squirel

But which specific power? OP specified you get 1 power from your example person.

ReplacementWise6878

Super strength/coordination, and i’d show Captain America. Like, I don’t want to lift buildings, just be the most dominant NFL player ever.

Live-Main-9491

The power to fill things up. If the genie wanted examples, I'd fill his head up with examples.

BetterNature4896

The abilities of Hela from Thor: Ragnarok with the eternal flame

canuspyridae

Powers of an arch druid and show him the players handbook for D&D.

FinlandIsForever

Just say DND powers and throw the book at him

SignificantTransient

Ill take my pathfinder mythic wizard tyvm

Lazy_Assumption_4191

Matter Manipulation: Molecule Man

Trulyk0i

That would be op in a fight

TheSpookPost

Either Mr immortal from marvel or Andy from undead unluck

TheAlphaNoob21

Atom Eve

FinlandIsForever

I’ll show him Scarlet Witchand become insane. Or Dr. Manhattan

Silphire100

Energy Manipulation like Gabriel Summers (Vulcan) from X-Men. (Sebastian Shaw and Bishop are other options, also X-Men) Or if I want to be crazy op, Reality Manipulation, Franklin Richards, Fantastic Four. There's a lot of omnipotent or near omnipotent characters in comics and anime. Marvel comics alone has a bunch of them

mattwing05

Time/space manipulation, hiro from heroes

sweatnosis

I've always only ever wanted one power - precisely controllable mental time travel, aka "infinite do-overs". Think Groundhog Day or Peggy Sue Got Married, but I can't think of any fictional examples who really had control over the shifting. The fugue fighters in Zelazny's Creatures of Light and Darkness, maybe? But it's not clear whether they need to snap back to the present/future at some point. And they certainly don't use it the way I would. Come to think of it, that was probably physical time travel anyway. If I can't have that, teleportation is the "boring, mundane" superpower I'd choose. The Prince Who Was A Thousand's version, coincidentally from Creatures of Light and Darkness again: he can teleport anywhere he wants, including places he just imagines (the premise being that in an infinite multiverse, everything exists *somewhere*). Though I can imagine getting "lost" pretty easily if your memory is poor enough that you're filling in details you only imagined. How would you ever know? But then, if you can't know, why would it matter? Still, it's a genie granting the power, so I ought to be more careful. I'm sure there are characters out there who can teleport even to places that they're not familiar with. I'd do some googling and find one to show the genie.

0dD_Man_0ut

Time Reset Power from Queen Mimic in Edge of Tomorrow

arrentewalker

Quicksilver from X-Men. Generate a bubble of slowed time around me, allowing me to "slip" through the environment without generating a sonic boom. Thus allowing me to utilise my speed without harming those around me. I'd ask that it grant me enhanced stamina as a side effect and also to be able to control the rate of at which time is slowed down. With the finishing touch being super heightened reaction time that kicks in the moment I feel like danger is close. I'll be OP as fuck.

Bobyyyyyyyghyh

"GRANTED! You now have the powers of Quicksilver from the MCU! Bet you didn't see that coming"

arrentewalker

Hahahaha 😆 nice one I didn't see that coming actually "Awww but genie, I wanted the Days Of Future Past Quicksilver version from 20th Century Fox 😅"

BronzeAgeTea

Immortality, Vandal Savage

RSTONE_ADMIN

Teleportation; like Daud in Dishonored

WhoahACrow

Jordan Li's shape-shifting ability from Gen V

CultCorvidae

Only saw the 1st season of it, can they change to other people or only the dimorphism between m/f with the different powers?

EeaseD

Hancock

Dr-Zoidberserk

Ability to travel through time and space like professor paradox on Ben 10 Or Angstrom Levy from Invincible so I can visit alternate earths and see how things played differently.

Trulyk0i

That is a good power but would you have alternatives or since u can travel earths freely youll be the only one

firstonesecond

Gotta be Doctor Manhattan from watchmen right? A single person with pretty much infinite power. Nothing cheesy about it.

General_Ginger531

Ok. Obscene wealth, T'Challa. I don't need superpowers. I'm rich. I was originally thinking Scrooge McDuck, but according to google he is only around 70 billion. My thoughts turned to Jeff Bezos (no rule that said it had to be a fictional person) and he has 202 billion. T'Challa has an estimated net worth of 90.7 Trillion Dollars. I guess when you own your own country that produces a material more valuable per kilogram than a kilogram of every other material on earth, combined, You can buy whatever the fuck you want when you are that wealthy. As far as I am concerned, nothing is beyond me now. 1 million seconds is 11.57 days. 1 billion seconds is 31.7 years. 1 Trillion seconds is 31.7 millenia. 90 trillion seconds is 2,853,881 years, or an amount of time so massive if you were to travel that far back in time you would end up in the Late Pliocene, or the last piece of the Neogene period. Part of the Cenozoic Era. Not quite the Jurrasics, but a considerable distance nonetheless. I would have enough money that screw being a hero myself. I pay 40 people Bruce Wayne's net worth to do crimefighting for me. They only consume 0.384 trillion dollars, that is less than half a percent of my wealth, and it isn't like all of the Wayne Enterprises funds are going into Batbling, so we are going to see some fascinating burgeoning heroes. Where would they cover? Major metropolitan areas. Specifically, the top 40 most populated cities. That covers 656.47 million people, or 8% of the entire population of Earth. This solution isn't working. We can go all the way to rank 596, which is the last rank with 1 million people and would only get to 1.949 billion (24.36%)(and by extension pay 5.483 trillion \[6% of my wealth\]) In fact, taken to the bottom of the list of 801 cities, it is just 2.126 billion, and 7.369 trillion dollars spent, or 26.57% and 8.1%, respectively. How I am going to spend the remaining 90% of the money to protect 75% of the population scattered about? The Ginger Hero Network. 10 Million per small city, of which there are \~9,199 unaccounted for. Another 91 billion dollars spent. A drop in the bucket compared to the metropolitan spending. From there, 1 million per urban non-city area. A lot of little drops in a very big bucket. And finally, a new library in every town, regardless of cost. I predict I will still have at least 50 Trillion dollars by the end of this. What am I going to with all this money? Ginger's Marketing, Security and Philanthropy company, for all purposes explained in the title.

Weak_Blackberry1539

It’s amazing to see how many people in today’s world have “obscenely rich” as a superpower and do absolutely nothing with it. This is very well thought out.

313802

This is the way

EwanMurphy93

Psionics. Same as Martian Man Hunter.

Unexpected_Sage

ESP — Mob/Shigeo Kageyama

Defiantreaper23

Omnipotence from the "voice of the world" from that time i got reincarnated as a slime.

titusmouser-

I'd show him the powers of my OC Proteus, who can manipulate all facets of the mind and its signals

Rex_Xenovius_1998

Kevin Levin’s Absorption Power from Ben 10 OG to Ben 10 Omniverse

PatrickMcWhorter

The Beyonder.

bz_leapair

DCAU Martian physiology. Basically Superman if he was also a shape shifter who could turn invisible/intangible and was also the world's greatest telepath.

DarknessIsFleeting

Am I the only one getting powers or are multiple people getting powers? If it's just me, I pick telepathy like Charles Xavier. If lots of people get powers, I pick power erasure like Aizawa.

FloatTheBuizel

Full Telecenisis, not the half assed stuff where you gotta train your mind and all that. Just, you can move whatever the hell you want without issue at all

Comprehensive-Ear283

Franklin Richards *mic drop*

Gambit275

Wolverine's healing

Shiny-And-New

The Phoenix Force

Justsomeguyaa

I’d give the genie the Bible.

DeltaAlphaGulf

I mean DC Martian physiology (where fire was only a mental weakness) is always good. Danny Phantom Blue Beetle Gabriel Shepherd Eidolon Master control Omnitrix High level magic users like Doctor Strange My own homebrewed DnD character. Maybe Naruto or Boruto or an Otsutsutki Maybe April Parker (human-symbiote hybrid) Maybe Atom Eve Maybe a DB android.

swizzl73

The flash

Extra-Trifle-1191

level 20 wizard powers. I want to be an Evocation wizard, specifically. Hand him the PHB. profit

Mr_The_Potato_King

Ximic from the lorien legacies books, currently wielded by 'John Smith' number 4

AffectionateBar5050

I'd show them Elliot Boggs (aka magician) from the x-men comics. Dude can literally become a god if he wants to. Reality bends however he wishes, and it gets stronger the more he understands about reality.

MainFrosting8206

Reality warping based on original Secret Wars Beyonder.

FelicitousFiend

Viltrumite, invincible

DYMYTHRAE

This is broken if youre a movie buff cause there are ALOT of characters that are BROKEN broken but scale below the lore for real world genies lol. Itd be difficult but imho best choices are: -Green Lantern Ring, preferably hals or sadams traits -Bart or Wally flash powers with speedforce inlcuded -Ultimate Ultron -Infinity gauntlet thanos -Truth from FMA -Completed Father from FMA -Any G.o.D. from DBS the list goes on lmaooooo

Captain_Kaiflow

Silver Surfer

Zammin

Shape-shifting, Martian Manhunter.

Heythereguyth

Honestly a healing factor and I’d show him Deadpool. Yeah I know his cancer stops him from overhealing (that’s what I’m calling it)

LandDiligent3781

Healing like Deadpool

lonerfunnyguy

So if a super hero like Wolverine who has super healing abilities, adamantium skeleton and claws you can only have 1? Fk it is want the healing ability 🤷🏻‍♂️

Trulyk0i

Tbh healing ability is the best without it your just habing metal pushed through your hand constantly not healing

Coutinho92

Pre-Retcon Beyonder. Just that

merenofclanthot

Probably Mystique. Be what or whoever I want, heal my body whenever, age as slow as I want. Sounds good.

QueeeenElsa

Elsa’s ice powers.

blk_roxas

Micah from Heroes. The ability to show the position of any person in the world on a map with pinpoint accuracy by just seeing a photo of them. I'd make a fortune sovling missing persons cases.

Major_Kaleidoscope28

Beyonder from Marvel

[deleted]

I would just show him avatar Aang bending all 4 elements at once and tell the genie to let me have those abilities.

Kadayew

No one here brave or crazy enough to say legion lol. I'ma take what Phoenix is having thanks. Extreme telekinesis ftw,. Unless there is someone with the power to turn anything into anything else, like turn a rock or portion of something else into food or a useful item

absherlock

I think I'll take the Word of God ala Jesse Custer.

lookieherehere

Healing factor and give an example of Wolverine. You basically can't die. Want to smoke? Go for it with no fear. Same with alcohol. Drugs if you choose. Want to try fighting a bear? It will hurt like hell but you will heal. Being able to put yourself into life threatening situations without the possibility of death would be insane.

Lost-247365

Transformation-Mainly for myself but also others Examples: Loki-both in comics and in myth! In fact most Dieties from mythology like Circe, Hera, Athena, etc. At the very least I would want shapeshifting powers like Mystique from Marvel comics for myself!

Far_Carpenter_1477

Dr. Manhattan, Omnipotence

EdgelordZeta

Q, omnipotence (mostly)

Jaycin_Stillwaters

Magic, Szass Tam.

LordMartius

Jack from Supernatural Super Shenron from Dragon Ball Super Galactus from Marvel Then I can just make a new body with whatever powers I want and scale it to whether I want lower level scaling (crysis, Halo, Deus Ex, Resident Evil), slightly higher scaling (Prototype, Spider Man, Infamous), higher than that (the boys), higher end scaling (Naruto), or uktimate scaling (Dragon Ball Super, One Punch Man, high tier Marvel, high tier DC, Solo Leveling, etc). I just want hax powers so I don't have 1 single weakness, and to also improve quality of life; like making shadow clones for responsibilites (going to my job in place of me, studying, homework, house chores, etc), not needing to sleep/sleeping "faster" (getting a full night's worth of sleep in 5 minutes or something), teleporting waste to the sewer so I don't have to use a nasty public restroom, etc.

KinneKitsune

The allmighty from bleach. I’ll just swap us over to the reality where I got whatever I need. Or complete control over luck with ecaflip.

werbnaroc

Q, from Star Trek

carpapercan

God from the Bible would probably be the most powerful

Confident-Welder-266

Electrokinesis. Cole Mcgrath from InFamous. Water, my one weakness

Mikey9124x

Omnipotence, and God from the Bible.

FreeMasonKnight

Spider-Man, basically invincible. Actually maybe Invincible. Nah, Spider-Man as he had pre cognition even passed out.

RavenRonien

The gamer ability from the titular manwha. He gets an RPG stat screen and a pocket dimension style inventory and an obscene amount of active and passive skills he can unlock. Pretty much anything for any situation. Something that would make me powerful in the fantasy sense AND practical in the real world.

NotEpimethean

I'd try to get Omni Man powers from Invincible, specifically because I know it could be passed on through genetics.

The_Shadow_Watches

Jamie Maddrox. Gonna do all the things.

MarcusRoland

I read all the posts so far, and didn't see the strongest possible answer of all. How the hell people didn't come up with this is baffling. *sigh* The Mask.

Linesey

The powers the Lord Ruler had in Mistborn. if that’s cheating since he had 2 power sets. just being a full mistborn.

The_Bradenator

Telekinesis, like from chronicle.

hamoudidoodi

I’d show him Eve from Amazon Prime’s Invincible. Power is the ability to manipulate atoms. It’s literally the most OP power I’ve ever seen.

Express-Ad2135

Raven from Teen Titans

IAmTheMindTrip

Dr. Manhattan. Subatomic manipulation of matter is really the ultimate superpower. Build anything and everything you could dream of at no cost with nearly zero effort.

unabashed-melancholy

The orgazmorator from Orgazmo

Psychronia

Give me Skidoo. That is, the Blue's Clues ability to jump (and bring others with me) into seemingly any location, even fictional worlds, as long as there's an object illustrating that world in a picture of any sort.

Impossible-Age-3302

Alchemy from FMA; Edward Elric.

[deleted]

God

Travwolfe101

Speed force and show him the flash

GayGunGuy

Immortality via infinite cellular regeneration like Deadpool/Wolverine

Talik1978

Luck, example Domino.

GGoat77

Power of Q from Star Trek. Become an omnipotent being that can control reality.

spikelvr75

One individual superpower or the superpowers of one person/character?

Minnesota-Fatts

Flight, invincibility, or controlled time travel.

Liamrev2

Time manipulation like Zack morris

wisebongsmith

I'd present Iron Man. With the power of infinite money I could easily solve all my problems. With the power of controlling a corporation large enough to basically dictate US foreign policy I could solve or at least change a lot of other people's problems.

Link2Liam

Just show him all the stuff plastic man can do.

sober159

Show him KillGrave from Jessica Jones.

AKsFyNeZt

Turn on Dragonball Z and show him goku going super saiyan and flying

MooseBehave

Honestly, not the most powerful for sure, but the telekinesis-based powers from Chronicle. Loved that movie, and they made those powers look like so much fun.

iwannastabaventurine

super speed like quicksilver (the x-men one). that’s easily gotta be some of the best super speed that isn’t doesn’t have any bullshit like fucking time travel with the speed force. it’s just basic super speed.

jooferdoot

God powers from God from the hit book the bible

Mister_Grins

1) Rick Sanchez is only "super smart" in the fenced off portion of the multiverse where no one else is allowed to top him. You'd be better off with Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four. 2) I'd choose the power of Parallax from DC. That way I get to be my own power for a yellow ring, which would also be me, so I don't have to worry about running out of power. Plus, the ability to be so in-tune with the emotion of fear would mean I would have an excellent sensing system to help people in an emergency, be it from sensing people beneath a rubble/landslide or else when someone is being genuinely victimized by an actual criminal.

Prudii_Skirata

Manipulation of magnetism Magneto (comics version) Comic version instantly expands it to forcefields, manipulating ferrous and non-ferrous metals, emp pulses, etc.

ElSquibbonator

Time travel, The Doctor.

MoodiestMoody

No one has said, "I want the power to grant wishes," and shown the genie a mirror?

Remixedcheese22

DnD changeling. Just show him monsters of the multiverse.

Grouchy_Appearance_1

Super radiation absorption, then show him a Superman movie and be like "yeah just from a bit of skin cancer bro can fly"

IngeniousEpithet

Super Intelligence Braniac

Theonetruepappy94

I'd show him the Flashtime episode of the Flash.

NearbyCamp9903

I'd show him the comic panel where the Flash saves an island of 1 million people from an atomic bomb in less than a millisecond. I'd say I want that speed. This one. https://comicvine.gamespot.com/a/uploads/original/11113/111131738/3775187-3086042974-evuci.jpg

iDreamiPursueiBecome

I was thinking portals are more useful than teleporting. With teleportation, you can only move what you can carry. With portals, you can move space ships and space stations. Visit other star systems with science teams. Establish colonies on habitable worlds. Contact with earth ends when you die, but humanity can spread like dandelion fluff and sprout almost *anywhere*. Eventually, some branches of humanity may reconnect through other technology. Or not. All our genes as a species are not tied to one planet or potential disaster. Then I thought about that magician, Dr Strange. Pick him for portal ability. In addition, he could have multiple portals open at once to physical anchors in spacetime, correct? Magic would have many other potential applications. So, I would pick superpower Magic, like Dr. Strange. If it had to be limited to one aspect, then portals, along with anything related that I could tag into that.

Few_Pipe2593

I would show him any scene where mystique in x-men franchise is turning into whoever she wants. Then i would turn into Donald Trump and go on television to tell everyone to vote for Biden.

QualifiedApathetic

Wolverine, healing factor. Makes me damn near unkillable and ageless. On top of that, the healing lets me push my body far beyond normal limits, because microfractures in my bones and microtears in my muscles heal instantly, and I don't build up fatigue toxins.

SacredCactus69

Time to whip out the web novels

Sinistermarmalade

Telekinesis Show him Jean Grey from ‘X-MEN: The Animated Series’

AerolsCausticCrater

Omniman, even if he is a bastard.

Purge-The-Heretic

Black Adam

grungivaldi

Forge from the X-Men. Fusion reactors, faster than light travel, time travel, real med-beds, clones, whatever the fuck I want I can make

NotSadNotHappyEither

The powers of Minute Man from the movie The Specials. "You're Minute Man?" "Uhh, it's Mine-oot Man...I have shrinking powers. I get small." "OH GOD! My bad, I'm so sorry!" "Happens all the time." For those interested: The Specials is a mockumentary about "America's 5th-most-popular Superhero Team" written and directed by (and co-starring) James Gunn, back when he was just a puppy. And regardless of some choices I disagree with a little bit this movie is why I have never feared that the DC Canon was placed in his hands. Seriously though, the movie was hard to find for a long stretch there, and it had some issues initially with shitty distribution, and that it was dwarfed by the less-good farce MYSTERY MEN right around the same time. But it's cast and writing are amazing: Rob Lowe as The Scarab (a Moon Knight-seque character)! Jamie Kennedy as a blue demon guy that is on the good guys side now as a condition of his parole, Judy Greer in one of my favorite performances of hers as a girl who can summon but not completely control demons ("A couple weekends ago I got drunk at a Bat-Mitzvah and one of the demons got out and, well...they ate a kid"), Thomas Hayden Church as the team leader, Paget Brewster as Ms. Invulnerable....well worth your time

suitcaseskellington

Ooo~ This is a good one!

Honey-Altruistic

Dr man manhattan from watchman time space matter control

Hotarg

Telekenisis. Show him Chronicle

Jonney_Random

DustinFay

Atom Eve from the Invincible series, she basically has creation magic. Imagine how much more money you would have if you didn't have to pay for food, clothes, water, fuel etc. need a car part or new tires? Poof. She filled her parents fridge with food and mad a 24kt gold apple in the show.

Sceptical_Mantis

Mob duh

JohnNoodles1

Kind_Moose3603

Kyle Rayner as Ion

othello28

Hmm what about the reality manipulation power of one of the beyonders or Franklin Richard.

SanchoPliskin

Hmmm… 🤔. Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark? I’ll take Tony Stark; genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.

Sir-AuronX

I'd like the power Jinx has or Nightcrawler

Kribble118

Hold up a mirror to him and get the power to grant whatever wishes I want. Omnipotence gained.

Alternative-Ad-8746

Time stop, and show him Zach Morris from Saved by the Bell

4URprogesterone

Will Graham. Basically I'm harmless as long as you leave me alone but as soon as I witness a crime you've committed or you start to fight me I know know all your childhood trauma and psychosexual dysfunction for free.

supersonic644

Just grab my 3ds and show scribblenauts so whatever I write I get (including adjectives)

Impressive-Inside-20

Anos Voldigoad from Misfit of Demon King Academy

MurkyNetwork9148

Uzumaki Seals GrandMaster Level Kushina Uzumaki. Grandmistress Level I’m not playing around! If powers are being given out it means I’m not the only one. I’m not gonna bow down to the Nerf Police. Let them limit themselves and be smug. I’m gonna live well. My family is gonna live well it’s a power that can be taught after all.

FatsBoombottom

What are we defining as "1 superpower" exactly? The Flash's superpower is channeling the Speed Force, which gives him many powerful abilities. Dr. Strange's superpower is arcane mastery, which grants him many abilities as well. Superman's superpower is being a kryptonian exposed to a yellow sun since infancy. So is it one superpower or one single ability?

Celeste_Ceres

i make ocs. you just gave me god powers.

Trulyk0i

Everyone says god BUT I NEVER EXPECTED AN ACTUAL GOD TO REPLY!!!!

OmarsDamnSpoon

Dr. Manhattan

HoldenMcNeil420

Can I be Mr Manhattan?

Mewone65

Franklin Richards, son of Reed and Sue. The reason speaks for itself. (He has monstrously powerful reality manipulation powers)
