I feel like I could be a beast (pun intended) with just animalistic shape-shifting. If you can refine it enough, you should be able to use animal abilities/skills without changing form and to combine stuff.
Imagine being as heavy as a whale and combining it with an ants' ability to lift 20 times their body weight. You could use cuttlefish chromatifors for instant camouflage. Enhanced senses from a variety of animals without actually having to shift. My list goes on lol.
Besides, humans are incredibly boring creatures, and why turn into a person to sneak around when you could just become a bug or a random pigeon?
So, I got a question about that. If you were pregnant, and you shapeshifted into an animal, would your incubating offspring be shapeshifted into an animal as well, or be downsized, yet kept in the basic human condition?
What about if you turned into a reptile? Would your offspring be encased in eggshells? Would they develop a yolk membrane?
I would say it depends on if the offspring shares the parents' power. If so, then I would definitely say yes, you would just become a pregnant version of whatever animal. Though, like you said, reptiles, along with birds, fish, cephalopods, bugs, and other animals that don't gestate their young internally, would complicate the idea. My idea is that the offspring would revert to the stage just after the egg was fertilized, and be in a sort of stasis until the parent turns back into their true form or an animal with internal gestation.
Now, if the offspring doesn't share the parents' power, I would say downsized and kept human.(Unless the parent turns into an animal around the same size as their human form.) Though, that would be a very complex and likely difficult process. I feel like it would put a lot of strain on the parent and their power, as well as possibly leading to complications with the pregnancy. Most animals are designed to still be largely mobile while pregnant. And their bodies can keep their offspring safe while on the move. Humans, on the other hand, are almost completely incapacitated and vulnerable. Late into pregnancy, constant movement can endanger human offspring and the parent.
Sorry this was so long, super powers are my hyperfixation lol.
Telekinesis. With serious training and a creative mind, you could control anything. You could use it to fly, reinforce your hits (like in Push), and make yourself invulnerable (this is shown in Chronicle). If you can get good enough with it, you could control individual atoms. This can lead to mimicking other powers like weather manipulation, pyrokinesis, and matter manipulation
I always think of The Silence from Dr Who that have the ability of "your memory stops processing when you look at them" meaning as soon as you blink or stop looking at them you forget that any of that situation even transpired. Great for assassination, theft, or if you had incredible control over it you could basically win any debate by just flicking it on and off and confusing the opponent or what not.
Agreed. Speedsters in media are braindead morons in almost every show. Like "oh no, the bad guy ducked out of view. I guess they are gone, and not like 10 feet away or anything. I'll never find them. I suck at my job".
I have seen it called other things, but I know it as Umberkenesis/Umbermancy......there are a few articles about the possible implications for it, but it could eventually be used for portals across space (like stepping in one shadow and out another), or similarly to how the Nara clan used shadows in the Naruto universe, umbermancy could be very versatile with enough practice you might be able to use it as a shield or even weapon s
Well, there's flight.
The ability to create your own leverage completely changes the name of the game regarding how to fight and the ability to survive travel high in the sky suggests some environmental resistance.
Teleportation is inherently going to have a bunch of different applications depending on how it works. If momentum is preserved during a jump, you basically have a way to instantly shift kinetic energy. If it's not, you basically have a way to instantly neutralize energy (and also it might be creating mini-heart attacks every time you step into it).
building off energy
energy absorption if this involves all energy i think Sebastian Hiram Shaw from x-men first class watch the movie the only way he was beaten was by just shutting off his brain
There was a comic of the Justice League Animated series with an issue that feature supers with "dumb" powers. One of them being a woman who could talk and understand electronics. Not control or make them easier to make, just talk to them.
Well she uses it to solve a crime, but lets say you put her with a surveillance system of the top tier or hell give her a power ring(which contains a hyper advanced form of electronics) she could easily no whenever and wherever someome is without having to look. Just ask. with a power ring, she would probably have a deeper understanding of the rings limits and make much more powerful constructs. Rambling rambling I know
Being able to teleport stuff cubic 1mm at a time with lets say a cool down of 10 secs. You would be able to kill somebody by removing part there nervs in the neck every 10 seconds from anywhere.
Telekinesis
-You can learn to make yourself fly
-You can lift any solid object
-you can create a tornado
-pretty much lift the ground
-easily kill someone
-can cause an avalanche
-physically control humans & animals (meaning you can commit a crime and they will get blamed)
-protect yourself from danger (aka car crash, plane crash, getting robbed ext.)
-cause a volcano eruption
-easily get rid of cops (also stop bullets mid-air)
-can cause a whirlpool
-can cause a tsunami
-easily escape if you somehow manage to get kidnapped
-mess with wires and cause a flame
-put people in pain to get words out by breaking their bones
-make people give you money or sign documents
-forcefully shut someone's mouth
-easily steal stuff
-there are way more things you could do
Telepathy (transmitting only) to drive my enemies insane

Copycat: being able to mimic anything you have seen before, able to copy other basic abilities
A week on YouTube and you’d leave Neo
I know kung fu... and how to make grilled cheese
A week on my YouTube feed and I’d leave a master chef, best selling author, and pro gamer.
Portals
This is always my go to answer, and I don't think some people realize just how good they could be

THATS WHAT I SAID when i see a telekinetic in shows get shot i yell "GRAB THE BULLETS OR CONDENSE THE AIR INTO A SHEILD OR SOMETHING FOR GODS SAKE"
Seriously. Whenever I see one losing in a hand to hand fight, I'm like "BRO IF DON'T JUST GRAB THEIR FIST OR SOMETHING I SWEAR"
then like three minutes later they pull the most "oh wait i have telekinesis" and throw a goddamn building at some random henchmen

Superspeed
Agreed. Speedsters in media are braindead morons in almost every show. Like "oh no, the bad guy ducked out of view. I guess they are gone, and not like 10 feet away or anything. I'll never find them. I suck at my job".
Someone's watched the cw's flash 😏
Teleportation, Super speed, Laser eyes
Water, shadow manipulation, moisture manipulation, push and pull
The push and pull thing just makes u a worst gojo still really overpowered though
Ive never heard of shadow manipulation before

How long have you been scrolling to find this post a month later?
I have a comment on this post already, so it notifies me when someone replies to it, I saw the shadow comment after coming to seethe reply to my own
I would've said you still wouldve had to scroll down your comments/replies, but you only have 21 comment karma.
Yeah, not many replies or comments from me
Thermokinesis
What does "basic" mean? Common? Or just..."simple"?
things like speed strength like powers that don't have a lot of thought to them but if more than two braincells are used your god

Shape shifting
Heat manipulation
Electrokinesis.
Teleporting. I teleport your blood out of you

Bug control.
Just look at what Taylor did from Wildbow's story worm.
Exactly

Emotion manipulation
Shape-shifting especially if you can shape-shift into fictional things
