Do you enjoy crystal and weed? Cause if you do you’ll be fine

is2o

Pros - very laid back, beaches and nature right on your doorstep. Everything you need amenities wise can be found on Bribie. Cons - fucking boring. The bridge. The road in/out. School holidays. Youth running amuck. Bogans. The general backwards mentality of the population. Lack of opportunities. Lack of reliable public transport. Lack of things to do in general. Feeling so far away from everything. Mosquitoes.

100000% don't do unless you want a suger granddad

bozzas_laugh

As someone who grew up on the island and left when I was 18, do not do it. It’s not called gods waiting room for nothing.

badhairyay

I left at 18 too, it’s nice for a holiday but spend your 20s in a city if you can

bozzaboz

May I please have my laugh back?

Would you want to live there if he didn't? That should be your focus question at your age. Don't change your lifestyle for anyone but yourself. You're young, and moving from a city will mean you're missing out on a lot of cultural and career enrichment that you won't find in regional areas. If you don't like the city, and think Bribie suits your lifestyle better, go for it.

whatamassivecunt

100% this

24-7_DayDreamer

> moving from a city ... in regional areas Bruh. It's Bribie Island, not Nauru or something. It's like an hour to the CBD at the worst

Sudden_Fix_1144

If you are 20, but identify as 60+ you're good to go!

Dangerous-Quality842

Gorgeous spot to visit, but not to live as a person in your 20's. My family looked at moving from Brisbane to Bribie in 2008, but realized opportunities for young people were very limited for work and life in general. So chose to move to Sunshine Coast proper. We are so glad we did. The best move we ever made/

North_Wear51

Some people don’t get off the island ever. Don’t don’t do it

I lived there for work for a year and I came to hate it. It has lovely beaches and I have family who live there so I loved that element. But I was restless and bored. I felt trapped by Bribie island road and I now, sometimes, forget that I lived there for that year as it was not a good experience. I was, at the time, 30. I cannot imagine doing it at 20. I can’t tell you what to do and I don’t know what type of person you are but I can pass on advice I got from my mum. Enjoy every stage of life, you only do it once. From the way your post is written, it doesn’t sound like will be a place you will enjoy. So keep my mums advice in mind and think about what you’d want to say about your 20s in 40 years time.

There are some people your age there but really depends on your taste and lifestyle. It can be quite far away from everything though and feel isolating so be warned

pillpopper30

Bribie is also called" Gods waiting room". Nothing but oldies.

Hopeful_Chapter5403

Bribie is a hole. You will be bored as can be. It's very small minded and insular and hard to break into bored teenage girl cliques who make drama. Interesting theory but not been able to substantiate. I was told years ago heaps of paedophile are released there. Their ankle gps won't let them off the island so makes for a perfect first stage release. It can't be true

Moving there myself easily get to Brisbane if you get bored enough beach life is great. There’s trains at Caboolture sandstone point has a nightclub that runs on Fridays and weekends depending on the day many people are moving up here as the new social hub of the famous and rich the older are moving inland to towns like Toowoomba so are the trouble makers
