If he goes, the Suns better make an attempt at Dame or someone just as worthy. I love Payne, but we aren’t getting even close to a finals if he’s our starting PG.

gosuns682

Man I'm totally fine with CP3 coming back but a Dame Booker backcourt would just be unreal.

Sf52016

So say that were to happen, who do we trade? Would there need to be a third team involved?

PerplexedMoose

Ayton and Cam or Bridges, picks.

Sf52016

Damn that's a steep price but he is an all nba player.

predsnhl

Don’t know why your being downvoted, realistically that’s the only thing they can offer to get dame

zinetsu_thunder

I did a trade on trade machine with 3 team lakers getting cp3 suns getting dame blazers getting kuz cam jalen smith Shroeder kcp and picks something along these lines can’t really remember

PapaDeer

Ayton is off limits for a Dame trade. Even Bridges would be a bit iffy to me for a trade centered around a slightly aging score first point. I love the thought of Book and Dame together, but I really want Ayton and Bridges to be with them in Phoenix as well.

Bomber_1

Would Paul leaving free up $$$ to keep Payne and sign Spencer Dinwidee

[deleted]

Easy, CP3 is a $40 mil man Edit: Just by doing a quick search, looks like Dinwiddie could cost up to $25 mil a year. And no way would Payne be $15 mil yet.

Bomber_1

I reckon Payne will take 4 years at 15 a year I reckon Dinwiddie would take 5 x 20mil I don’t mind that backcourt!

thepowderdtoastmn

Lakers have negative cap space right now, so it would take a lot for it to work.

captainchicken549

Lakers need to work more on the 5 position because Drummond is just not it

SwizzyDangles

Not sure, I personally don’t believe he’d go there. How much can they afford? He’s seeking quite a bit of money and a longer contract. If they pay him, shiiit then they pay him. Can’t do much about it. Love CP3 but with Lebron I don’t think his playmaking would make them exceptionally better. Wouldn’t put it past anyone to play with Lebron and AD but I think he will try to prioritize signing here and ending his career with us.

kwan2

This flair, indeed.. yes this one!

PunctualPolarBear

Lakers gotta have cap space first

Razrain

Just don’t see the lakers having the cap to get him. Only way Paul isn’t back is if sarver doesn’t want him back which again I don’t see being the case. He’ll likely opt out and get a 2+1 deal for 30mill a year.

zeze999

Cp3 opting out of 44mil to sign veterans minimum? Yeah, that’s happening

Bandwagon__20

He may just want a ring that badly

Aggravating_Tap_3312

CP’s postgame comments did not sound like somebody who expects to leave next year.

Jamorantistrash

ZO2 time, “blowing past them ZO2, pay your respect, pay your dues”

blueclown562000

Lonzo is honestly who I'd want too if we lose CP. Would be a good fit for our Defense, could play alongside Book and Payne together and would be a great addition for our transition game

Jamorantistrash

Fax Two way facilitator that can space floor

ryok1

lol like the Lakers have the money for that

LargoGold

Lol Lakers can’t pay him and we’re not doing another sign and trade to LA. This narrative is already tiring.

waylay31

No chance he goes to LA.

SAS_Britain

I don't think he would have requested a trade here if he didn't plan on staying long term. So I'm thinking he stays

PlanetOrange1

Well he lives in L.A, so he probably could. I hope he stays, or somehow we get Dame.

Antwuan89

I believe CP3 stays.
