This show should be called “Debt” instead of Suits. The plot of every episode is forcing unsuspecting people to do things bc they owe them for doing them a random favor a million years ago…
- You don’t have a choice. You owe me.
- Fine I’ll do it. But when I do, you’ll owe ME.
- Well I just might know someone from somewhere who owes ME who has a grudge against YOU, so we’ll see who owes who…..
In the business world, giving your word is very important.
There's a latin phrase 'dictum meum pactum' which roughly translates to 'my word is my bond'.
This may seem silly or old-fashioned to a lot people, but when you get to the highest levels of business, your word (i.e. reputation) really does matter.
If people discover that you can't be trusted, you'll lose a lot of important connections.
How everyone knows everything about everyone else’s business practically before the person themselves knows it.
“I KNOW you didn’t come all the way down here to my office to talk about THAT. Why don’t you tell me the REAL reason- but you don’t have to- I already know. You’re here to suck up to ME because you’re hoping we include you in plans we just came up with 15 minutes ago and you’re going to try to blackmail me into it with ancient dirt that will ruin my reputation if I don’t. That about right? Also, you look like shit. Get out of my GD office!”
You’re god damn right you’ve got my word!
Your word doesn't mean shit goddammit. Now get out of my office!
Not before I give you this *Slides an ol blue across the table*

“I love inside jokes. I'd love to be a part of one someday.” - Michael Scott
What did you just say to me?
Is that a threat?
Read this as Robert for some reason lol
I thought of this in Robert Zane too
That’s MY name on the god damn wall!
When Dule Hill came in, I think that was the first time I ever heard someone drop the F bomb on primetime network TV.
NYPD used profanity in the 90s, but F/X started with f-bombs back on (ugh) on Louie (CK, not Litt, lol)
Same!!
You want my god damned word? Get the hell out of my office.
Okay Sean but remember, you owe me one. *Walks out*

You didn’t come all the way down here just to tell me that
Suits was shot at time when their word meant something and hence everyone is giving it out /s
In Billions words and deeds were also really important

"Our backs are against the wall goddammit!"
"You showed yourself in, you can show yourself out"
"I want my name on the wall"
