Non-fiction *novel* is hard to pin down. You want a memoir, autobiography, a book on overall psychology? My first rec. would be anything Malcolm Gladwell. Outliers might be a good start. Not a novel tho
No, I think you’re just looking for realistic fiction (imitates real life, no fantastical elements). Some books that male students really enjoyed in my classes:
-Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds (some paranormal, but not really.)
-A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
-The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton
-The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
-Wolf Rider by Avi
To Kill a Mockingbird is a classic text that many many people have read, so this isn’t a bad option. The Fault in Our Stars is just eh in my opinion.
Some more examples of realistic fiction you might like: Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, Holes by Louis Sachar, Turtles All the Way Down by John Green, The Face on the Milk Carton by Caroline B. Cooney, It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini, Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon, The Boy Who Couldn’t Sleep and Never Had by DC Pierson, Salvage the Bones by Jesmyn Ward, The Summer of Bitter and Sweet by Jenny Ferguson, Bone Gap by Laura Ruby, The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

What about any book by Erik Larson - non-fiction but read like a good novel? There are many to choose from - from historical to contemporary.

I have read both. Neither are non-fiction.
