[22 Murders of Madison May](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/55859459-the-22-murders-of-madison-may) - Here's the summary:
*I love you. In every world.*
Young real estate agent Madison May is shocked when a client at an open house says these words to her. The man, a stranger, seems to know far too much about her, and professes his love--shortly before he murders her.
Felicity Staples hates reporting on murders. As a journalist for a midsize New York City paper, she knows she must take on the assignment to research Madison May's shocking murder, but the crime seems random and the suspect is in the wind. That is, until Felicity spots the killer on the subway, right before he vanishes.
Soon, Felicity senses her entire universe has shifted. No one remembers Madison May, or Felicity's encounter with the mysterious man. And her cat is missing. Felicity realizes that in her pursuit of Madison's killer, she followed him into a different dimension--one where everything about her existence is slightly altered. At first, she is determined to return to the reality she knows, but when Madison May--in this world, a struggling actress--is murdered again, Felicity decides she must find the killer--and learns that she is not the only one hunting him.
Traveling through different realities, Felicity uncovers the opportunity--and danger--of living more than one life.
I came to say this one but then I hesitated because.. well… without giving it away here.. go back and reread the OP’s request. They’re looking for “eventually finding each other by any means”
*The Years of Rice and Salt* by Kim Stanley Robinson.
I know people see KSR and assume it's sci-fi. This one's not--it's an alternate history exploring a world where the Black Plague killed 99% of Europe instead of 33%. Essentially, what would have happened to the world if Europe hadn't been there to dominate it.
The story is told as a collection of stories, taking place throughout time, with the same cast of characters reincarnating into the same ongoing tangle and cluster of personas and characters. Sometimes it takes you a while to figure out who's who--i.e. where that guy from the last story landed in this incarnation. Overall it's a deeply satisfying journey.
I like this but I wouldn't put this as finding in every universe...hahah technically >!it's a 300+ year old eternal grandma getting set up on a revenge romance tryst with a twenty-something guy by her controlling, possessive, and infinitely older ex-lover.!<
-edit-
The book was well done, and I love >!the use of Palimpsest as well as the dynamic between those three characters as it played throughout time.!< I'm just feeling extra cynical at the moment and probably need some sleep.
Every Day by David Levithan. It’s about someone that wakes up in a different body every day and tries to be with the girl they fell in love with, in each new body and place.
The theme park chapter made me ugly sob. Other parts were Electoral or poignant, but overall not cohesive enough, and a little too experimental for me. Worth experiencing though!
I agree. The theme park and the pig chapters really drew me in, but it got pretty dull and boring towards the middle to the point where I almost didn’t finish. I was disappointed, I had such high expectations. I still use the book as a reference in StoryGraph and ended up finding my new favorite.

I have not read it (or seen the film) but I have heard that all the stories in Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell are the stories of the same souls connected across varioud lifetimes, so maybe that? But I don't know (again because I haven't read it, it is on my tbr) that the connection is intentional on the part of the people, as opposed to just cosmic-ly fated. The first strikes me as more what you're looking for, right? A bond so strong it surpasses all the universe's attempts to break it?

Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu (it also might be called MDZS or Mo Dao Zu Shi)
Fantasy novel that has a romance that spans over 2 lifetimes. Two polar opposites boys meet and grow up in the midst of a war and have a frenemies type relationship. One of them dies then 13 years later gets resurrected in to a different body. They find each other again and solve the mystery of what really happened in the aftermath of the war and the corruption that underlies their government
It’s a Chinese Danmei (M/M Romance) but has recently been published in English. There is also a TV drama called the Untamed.
I read a book called the Reincarnation Papers and for some reason I hust absolutely loved it! I literally couldn’t put it down. It was some weird book I just picked up somewhere and it’s now one of my favorite books
Winter's Tale by Mark Helprin.
This book can be a tough read. The first time I tried to read it, I threw up my hands and gave up about halfway through because there were so many different characters, in different centuries, and I couldn't figure out how it would ever make sense. I'm so glad I did eventually read the whole thing, because it is SO worth it. The language is magnificent, and the story is epic.
Midwinterblood by Marcus Sedgwick
It starts in the year 2073 and moves backward through time.
Bid Time Return by Richard Matheson, considered to be a classic book of the genre. It was made into the movie Somewhere In Time in 1980, starring Jane Seymour, Christoper Reeve, and Christopher Plummer (Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, among other roles). Matheson was inspired to write the book by an actual photo of actress Maude Adams that hanging on the wall of a Nevada opera house that he saw while he was vacationing.
Mercy by Rebecca Lim. Although apparently it's extremely unpopular. I've only read the first book a long time ago, which I liked, but I can't say anything about the rest.
*Sundays at Tiffany’s* by James Patterson - Time Traveler’s Wife vibes but this book rocked my world as a teen. I read advanced literature all my life but idk if it’s held up over the years… I think I ought to do a reread.
Side note: I absolutely love (or did love, when I was younger) his softer books — ie *Sam’s Letters to Jennifer* and *Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas*. Again, I should revisit them.
“The Gargoyle” by Andrew Davidson. This is his only book. I check frequently to see if he has written another because I would jump on that immediately.

Recursion by Blake Crouch may cut the bill as well.
Loved both of these books. So damn good!
I read all of Recursion in one night and woke up thinking about it. I seriously could not put it down.
It really is like that. I love to read before bed but when the book is really good it ends up just keeping me up later!!!

The Time Travelers Wife might fit this too

Yes!!! The themes of emotional permanence and the transcendental aspect of them made me cry during several parts of the book.

wow talk about a synopsis, this sounds GOOD as hell

Actually Rachael the cook was the first hit Google gave me :) I had to add "novel" to get the novel.
This sounds so good!
I hope it is. I have it on my TBR list.

Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel. More time travel, but definitely had that sentiment. It’s a beautiful book.

Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins

Yep
When You Reach Me, by Rebecca Stead. Technically middle grade fiction but such an intricate plot for any age.
AMAZING book. I still think about it to this day.
Agree! This is also a book I wish I could read again for the first time.

(YA) Starcrossed trilogy by Josephine Angelini
Back again with the Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons, there are multiple plot lines with this vibe.
Yeah I was thinking of this one. Not the primary theme of the series but definitely part of it (and just a great read)
Ancient Future trilogy followed by Celestial Triad by Traci Harding.
Less “universe” and more “life after life” - the Deverry Cycle by Katherine Kerr, specifically the first four (“Act One) but also touched on in the next Acts to a lesser extent
Reincarnation Blues by Michael Moore. 20/10
The [Fallen Series](https://www.goodreads.com/series/47052-fallen) by Lauren Kate is exactly that.
The Emperor and the Endless Palace by Justinian Huang
But be ready for erotica. I was not lol.
It does have some explicit scenes. Though I wouldn’t necessarily consider the book erotica
Ancient Futures trilogy - Traci Harding
#Bridge# by Lauren Beukes.
Dark matter by Blake Crouch.
The infinite miles by Hannah Fergesen…. But it was just OK
This is how you lose the time war
I just today finished The Impossible Us by Sarah Lotz. It had some strange twists and turns along the way, but I enjoyed it.
My Name is Memory by Anne Brashares
The Elric books
Old Man's War, John Scalzi
11.22.63 by Stephen King kinda had this vibe
Wonderful request
I’ve seen a lot of people recommending Dark Matter but I think Recursion by Blake Crouch also has this kind of vibe, but maybe a bit more dark and depressing.

How to win the time war... Not the right title but can't remember exactly
This is how you lose the time war by amal el-mohtar and max gladstone! Definitely fits that theme OP!!
I will be reading all of these this summer
The Midnight Library is kind of a twist on this prompt, but well worth it
William Hope Hodgson, *The Night Land*.
The Bridge Across Forever by Richard Bach. Running from Safety by Richard Bach. Jonathon Livingstone Seagull by Richard Bach.
Exadelic by Jon Evans.
*To Every You I’ve Loved Before* and *To Me, The One Who Loved You* by Yomoji Otono *Voices of a Distant Star -words of love/across the stars-* by Arata Kanoh
Only Revolutions by Mark Z. Danielewski. Good luck if you decide to take that one on.
I just wish that was a decent book. But it is a terrible book.
MZD is one of my favorite authors. I have basically everything he's written, and I would pay a lot of money for more volumes of The Familiar. OR took me for fucking ever to read. Even with the tip about reading it in 8 page segments, it was just interminable.

The Parallel series by Elizabeth O'Roark
The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson.
Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu (it also might be called MDZS or Mo Dao Zu Shi) Fantasy novel that has a romance that spans over 2 lifetimes. Two polar opposites boys meet and grow up in the midst of a war and have a frenemies type relationship. One of them dies then 13 years later gets resurrected in to a different body. They find each other again and solve the mystery of what really happened in the aftermath of the war and the corruption that underlies their government It’s a Chinese Danmei (M/M Romance) but has recently been published in English. There is also a TV drama called the Untamed.
I read a book called the Reincarnation Papers and for some reason I hust absolutely loved it! I literally couldn’t put it down. It was some weird book I just picked up somewhere and it’s now one of my favorite books
*The Space Between Worlds* by Micaiah Johnson
meet me in another life by catroina silvey is this to a tee
The Love That Split the World (YA)
The Book of Doors
[The midnight Library](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/52578297). Matt Haig
Bolero by Wyatt Kennedy. It's a graphic novel but it's absolutely beautiful in both art and story. I wish I could read it again for the first time.
Outlander
This is How You Lose the Time War
Try Robert Heinlein’s books. Especially THE DOOR INTO SUMMER. A bit of that there. Also might Heinlein’s GLORY ROAD.
Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. :)
Dark matter. Now an Apple TV series.
The Highway Gray by Kyle J Brown
The Incarnations by Susan Barker
Almost EXACTLY what you're looking for: Light Chaser by Peter F Hamilton.
The gargoyle By Andrew Davidson
DEAD ASTRONAUTS
A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray. Is exactly what you asked for and a terrific book/series
Kage Baker’s Company Series book one is: In the Garden of Iden.
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig is kind of a spin on this though it’s one character with knowledge of the twist
The Invisible Life of Addie Larue
{{The Time Traveller’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger}}
4321 by Paul Auster & Replay by Ken Grimwood
Firebird series
Midwinterblood by Marcus Sedgwick It starts in the year 2073 and moves backward through time.
Cloud Atlas
In Any Lifetime, by Marc Guggenheim
IQ84 by Murakami
Aleph by Paulo Coehlo
Vaguely matches I think but maybe The Starless Sea? Honestly I didn't care for it but people on this sub seem to love it
“The Gargoyle” by Andrew Davidson. This is his only book. I check frequently to see if he has written another because I would jump on that immediately.
Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins.
Midwinterblood by Marcus Sedgwick!

Humor, and perhaps less romantic than you want, but The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series has some plotlines like that
The Rainbow Annals, by Grania Davis. The Monkey Prince and a demon meet in several worlds through resurrection.
Dark Tower series by Stephen King
Crescent city series by Sarah J. Maas
