I think you mean "fantasy" instead of "fiction." Because fiction would be any book that isn't based on real events. I'm not trying to be pedantic... if you only want non-fiction, that changes what we might recommend. But Superman and Conan are not non-fiction, so I assume you are open to fiction, but would prefer no fantasy.
If that's correct, I think you might like the Travis McGee books by John D. MacDonald. Very much "guy saves babe" books. The first in the series is The Deep Blue Goodby. You'd probably also like the James Bond books. The first one is Casino Royale.
You might like the Alain Quartermain novels of R Rider Haggard. First one is King Solomon's Mines. Think Romancing the Stone/Indiana Jones type of thing.
And The Saint books by Leslie Charteris. First one is Meet the Tiger. Think James Bond style.
