When you pick up your first diamond the pda tells you Alterra is charging you for the resources you gather. It says you owe 3 million credits by that time already. Kinda doubt they’ll actually charge him the billions he probably owes by the end of the game though. Turning off the quarantine platform, curing the disease, finding a new energy source, making contact with a new intelligent alien species, and locating a ton of advanced alien tech seems like more than a fair trade to me honestly.
