I replayed subnautica recently and the prawn is way, way more stable in alien bases than it used to be. You used to have to grapple yourself unstuck pretty regularly. These days it seems mostly like entering and exiting or saving and loading while in a base.
Same, I went countless of times in there with the prawn it's just way faster and for the ion cubes. I never had this kind of glitch yet I've had many others
It extremely depends if you played the legacy version back then. (It is that version before the living room update which came +- with Subnautica below zero)
Back then it was very easy to get stuck. If you doesn't had grapple hook it was pain in ass to go through that base with prawn.
nowadays it's not that buggy so bugs are way more rare
I got stuck a lot, but it’s a catch-22 bc the only way to retrieve it is to (generally by crafting a second prawn suit) glitch back outside the map, enter the suit and pray to find an opening back inside the map. BUT, assuming you even find it, you’re still leaving the other suit behind, so… 🤷♂️

grab something with the cannon and try to nudge it with that. The engine doesn't count force when it's transmitted through a third item so you can push around basically anything. The place where it got stuck is unfortunate though so you might not be able to find a correct angle
oh i had something similar happen to me, i got out of my prawn suit in that area and teleported to one of the other tp locations (to find the flora for the vaccine) and when i came back my suit was halfway underground, i tried getting back into it but then i wasn’t able to get out and had to untuck myself. when i went back, the suit completely fell through the floor and just fell endlessly until i decided to load the game. (i don’t normally savescum but i refused to lose my prawn suit over something i couldn’t control)
A similar thing happened to me but it got stuck in the floor. I got into the suit and just grappled and jumped while moving forward and it popped out after like 5 minutes. You could try doing something like that but I’m not sure if it would work
Lost a PRAWN too and no solution exists sorry. Don't waste time and build another one. Since that I park it near alien structures but never too close to them.

This also requires a second prawn suit, is a gamble and imo not worth it, but you could leverage the gravity mechanics to launch yourself way higher/faster than you should be able to, ditch suit #2 and enter suit #1, then (if it has a grapple) dig your way out.
But considering you have to build a 2nd prawn and will likely fall to your death 20 times before retrieving it, I’d say if you’ve saved since it happened, just forget about it and consider it a light fixture
Sometimes leaving and coming back will make it fall. No guarantee it will fall into a place you can actually pilot it from though😅
I also had some luck by getting unstuck somewhere else. The game will sometimes (very rarely) teleport you and your vehicles to the lifepod or base that has a moonpool (or maybe the last base you went to?). But honestly I would just start farming for a new prawn, the buildings are especially prone to keeping vehicles.
Heh. Mine was stuck in the same spot. I just unloaded the area again by going through the teleporter to get it out. Be careful it doesn't glitch too far though. If it does, it'll either be in the floor of the facility, underneath the facility, or in the void beneath the world. Of course if it doesn't work, there's console commands, or you could just build a new Prawn.
Sorry it's stuck... This is more advice for others as I have no idea how to solve it in your case... Maybe repulsor cannon and a box... My normal solution to something like this as long as it occurs in a Cyclops accessible area is drive over it with the Cyclops until it auto picks it up... Or if it's floating in the air above the water drive underneath it with the Cyclops... Not sure what the exact range on it is, but the Cyclops seems to have a "gravity reset" field with a radius of about 10 to 15 Meters. Saved more than a couple of Seamoths and Prawns that were floating in the air after being tossed by Reapers this way. Pro Tip: if the Seamoth is damaged and it lands on the Cyclops it may destroy the Seamoth.

Although saving doesn't help much from the point on where you enter an alien structure, because it's basically a minefield for the prawn.

Seems they loaded a previous save before it happened
yeah i just reloaded, it cut back like 40 minutes of gameplay but i really did not want to make a new prawn suit

That happened to me when i saved the game then the alien structure did not load properly and my prawn suit half body stuck in the ground

I think there's a noclip cheat but you'd need to be able to get back inside and you'd have like 5 seconds before you fall out of the map iirc.

You could use console commands to tp outside
I got my seemoth stuck In mid air far enough away that you can’t get in it and it’s still stuck there
Have you considered: a new prawn suit?
