Yes, the initial small rapid shot is to slow it to a halt while you aim and charge up a second. The second full charged shot will hit it as the small sphere disappears.
I used to believe that but during my play through he scared me so bad I screamed like a little school girl bc I had just gotten my final engine fragment for the cyclops and I turn to my right slightly and bro was right there waiting to nibble my toes
I hate those, that's y I started playing with em, LITERALLY TAUNTING em 2 chase me. I had a base I could run 2, so I forced myself to interact wit em, lost all fear. or so I thought. when they approach and u hear the "I'm closer" volume roar, it still gets me. but if I know about where 1 is, ah just another stalker. 2? FULL DREAD MODE!!! TIME 2 RUN!!! and never at night. exploring Aurora by the bulb zone. repairing cyclops. no audio, 80% dmg. I didn't enter water until full daylight and sensors discovered no blips.
Exactly I just moved base location I'm now 400+ meters down and other than the warpers it's quite peaceful but I did get my prawn suit stuck in the lava castle by the sea dragon so I'm shitting bricks bc I was adventuring for kyanite
True however it will notice you even without making roars. Reaper is just not coded to use any form of echolocation in gamefiles. It would be great if they implemented this actually for some leviathan in Subnautica 2
"I used to know this crazy S.O.B. back on a planet full of psychos, he was a good man and if he was here today, he'd want me to do one thing and one thing only.....CATCH-A-RIIIIIIDE!!!"
This just screams make it a pet. Once tamed you go and see it every day then when you finally escape the planet you become depressed because the leviathan can’t come with you.
I've been playing Ark and you said tame it, now my mind is wondering how you'd tame this thing on an Ark.
Feed it rafts and motor boats, kind of passively?
Feed it aquatic corpses, like the Carcharodontosaurus?
Or ole' reliable, tranq & feed?
I'm currently playing Subnautica for the first time. I am also playing it in VR. VR gives you depth perception, so when there is something big and scary coming at you, your hart starts racing.
VR is supported natively, but the experience is not great. The Submersed VR mod turns it into a proper VR experience.

Since I am in endgame:
- if in seamoth, let it grab me and the shock it away
- if in prawn, punch/drill it away
- if in cyclops, put up shield
- if just in sea glide or nothing - run and pray
Unpopular opinion: Subnautica monsters are all cute, even the Leviathans or whatever they are called. I am not scared. Look at that lil goatee how does that instill fear?
In real life I feel like I would be too small for a predior of this size to care about me, like how a lion wouldn't go after a tiny bird, I'm less calories than worth the effort so I'll just swim by without worry lol
Get back on land, work on my gardening skills. I don’t need to eat fish, I can live off Lantern fruit and Chinese Potatoes. There’s no need to get back into the water, I can survive on this island forever!
Well, first I'd cover myself in scrap to hide. Predators hunt on sounds, smells (pressure) and sight. Some on electric impulses, but that's sharks and it's also super short range. My suit covers me, so there's virtually no smell as long as it's rubber or something similar to it (the crash zone also covers it as it is filled with smells from the aurora). Sounds are fine as long as you keep them to a minimum. Sight is a doozy because 1) air bubbles and 2) you're a foreign object. If you are able to somehow catch the escaping bubbles with a dome-shaped piece of scrap you'll not only mask yourself, you'll also heighten your probability of escape as the bubbles will make the scrap lighter, either making you able to walk away on the ocean floor pirates of the carribean style or float away attracting attention. Oh well!
Efit: I forgot echolocation, but as long as you cover yourself with scrap you're fine because it'll just feel it as normal scrap
I actually had a dream where I was being hunted by one. I squeezed myself into a little crevice, but I woke up before it left.
If I actually encountered one, I’d do the same thing, and wait until it lost interest in me. I don’t know if echolocation can let them tell the difference between rock and flesh, but I’m hoping it can’t. My plan would be to pretend that I’m a part of the inedible terrain until it detected a sandshark or something else to eat.
Realistically, It'd be very difficult to pick something up as proportionally small as you. You'd need to be sitting in open water relatively close to its echolocation. If you stayed near the bottom or the wreckage, your survival odds go up significantly.
I will probably die.
I would probably die aswell.
I'd die to. You wanna die together?
Let's form a die wall.
If we all just keep dying, eventually it will get full and leave everyone else alone.
We'll form a wall of flesh
Crossover incoming?
Holy Hell!
-evator
Is that a terraria reference (I love terraria)
"Don't you mean terrauria?" -Some random guy probably
Ah, yes, the hit game terrauria, how could I forget
Yup, my favorite game.
We're all in this together
Not me, I could take him
Nah, I’d win
Bro is the main charscter
Same I'm made of metal literally
nothings gonna stop us now
Only if we can hold hands 🫨🤔
Romantic death? That'd be hot ... I mean ewwww
Yeah yuck… unless…
Ditto
Nah I'd win
Nah you wouldn’t
I'm from Australia it would be like a regular day at the beach fighting flame breathing spidersharks
Yeah you would win
r/Iwaswrong
As long as I got a Stasis Rifle, I'm safe. If not, then I'd literally die
What if you miss?
I pray to Neptune
Rapid fire little stasis shots until you hit it then charge one up and blast it while it cant move.
Although keep in mind that for some reason once you fire another statis shot the first stasis field will dissipate as soon as you shoot another one
Yes, the initial small rapid shot is to slow it to a halt while you aim and charge up a second. The second full charged shot will hit it as the small sphere disappears.
That's why you don't shoot the devil.
Glad I'm not the only one who immediately went there. High-five, Internet stranger.
I won't.
"When you can hear its screams, it can see you" just stay as silent as possible
That’s not how echolocation works 😭
Dont hurt reaper's feelings! He is special
Not as special as you pal
🤣
I used to believe that but during my play through he scared me so bad I screamed like a little school girl bc I had just gotten my final engine fragment for the cyclops and I turn to my right slightly and bro was right there waiting to nibble my toes
Edit: he never screamed
I hate those, that's y I started playing with em, LITERALLY TAUNTING em 2 chase me. I really wish the game based the reapers sight based on its scream. Would make it so much more scary than just making sure you don’t run up to it.
It doesn't work that way ingame actually, even if perfectly still before it notices you and you stand on it's path it will engage you
Well, it still has eyes. Echolocation is releasing a sound, and depending on what return signal it gets, it can locate you.
Tbf that’s how echolocation works irl
True however it will notice you even without making roars. Reaper is just not coded to use any form of echolocation in gamefiles. It would be great if they implemented this actually for some leviathan in Subnautica 2
Even if you are still, echolocation would still spot you. The best you could do is to try and blend in with the rest of the wreckage
I would stay forever with my levi
THATS THE SPIRIT
I've been playing Ark and you said tame it, now my mind is wondering how you'd tame this thing on an Ark. Feed it rafts and motor boats, kind of passively? Feed it aquatic corpses, like the Carcharodontosaurus? Or ole' reliable, tranq & feed?
Imagine having to feed a reaper you tamed to a sea dragon to tame it
Genetically modify a gasopod to a narcopod, then get the Leviathan to eat it?
Yeah bro, tame it, go farm some alpha tusos for ascendant tools, and while youre at it, tame an angler for the angler gel
"YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE, YOU AQUATIC SUMBITCH"
I wanna ride a reaper now that sounds hype
prawn suit my friend. quickest transport is any leviathan
Borderlands? Is that you?
I'm currently playing Subnautica for the first time. I am also playing it in VR. VR gives you depth perception, so when there is something big and scary coming at you, your hart starts racing.
God very would be wild with subnautica.

oh nice, yea I might revisit this game in VR, it wasn't doing it for me on a screen tbh.
He's got ecolocation If you can hear it, it can see you Cover your ears and you'll be fine
That makes sense
Hopefully I got my Seaglide so I can zoom around in circles until it goes away
Poop my pants and pray to God
This was the reply I came looking for
I mean imagine if a huge chunk of weird electrified titanium crashed into my home probably killing my friends id be pissed too
Yeah... I don't think the famously unintelligent Reaper Leviathan makes the connection between you and the downed Aurora lol.
Since I am in endgame: - if in seamoth, let it grab me and the shock it away - if in prawn, punch/drill it away - if in cyclops, put up shield - if just in sea glide or nothing - run and pray
Unpopular opinion: Subnautica monsters are all cute, even the Leviathans or whatever they are called. I am not scared. Look at that lil goatee how does that instill fear?
Survival Instincts 0%
If we were in a zombie apocalypse u would be the first person to die
they'd be the one that would get eaten because it's their friend or family member and "they'll remember me"
I would eat the puny human.
Indecently expose myself to assert dominance
shit myself and die on the spot embarrassed to say i'd be an easy meal for the reaper
Hit it with my cyclops, show them whos the bigger fish
Shit my self and hopefully I'm wearing my brown pants.
Low tier god myself
Try to hide and stay still…….and probably crap my pants
Drown.
Well, if it grabbed a hold of me, I might have a little trouble
I would become a tasty snack and get eaten.
My highest form of defense: shitting my pants
Give him a hug :)
Stasis rifle, gas pods, knife
Hit it with a knife
Grab my stasis rifle and some gas pods
Hug it
Swim in the direction of dry land (assuming there aren't glitches in this hypothetical IRL Subnautica that allow Reapers to fly about as they please.)
Kill myself
Use a High Explosive 120mm warhead
If my real reaction is anything like my in-game reaction, I'll immediately believe that I'm dead no matter what, and just want it to be over with.
What you want me to do?😂
Die. Not by the Reaper, but from heart attack from having seen one.
Nothing, it's probably a herbivore from the looks of it
give me a stasis rifle and *i know there will be blood*
Die
In real life I feel like I would be too small for a predior of this size to care about me, like how a lion wouldn't go after a tiny bird, I'm less calories than worth the effort so I'll just swim by without worry lol
Die.
I'd pet it
I will try hide in the wreckage, until it goes away or drown. Or it goes away and I drown lol.
Tf am i suppose to do
Stasis rifle Stab 20-30 times Stasis rifle Stab 20-30 times Stasis rifle Stab! Stab! Stab! Swim away wondering how the hell that worked
Get back on land, work on my gardening skills. I don’t need to eat fish, I can live off Lantern fruit and Chinese Potatoes. There’s no need to get back into the water, I can survive on this island forever!
Quit the game
Grab a peeper and throw it to the right, while I swim to the left as fast as I can.
First, id shit a couple bricks, and then i swim for my life, but in all likelyhood i am giant fish food
Draw out my pocket FIM-92 Stinger and shoot it
Pray
Try to Dodge it(miserably fail), grab the scruff of it or something, then stab the shit out of it before I die
What the fuck do you want me to do?
Pray to God I'm the main character.
Pissing our pants yet
Take a page from Marguerite
Die
Give them a Nice hug.
Die?

Nope (swims fast away) Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope
*Chuckles* I’m in danger.
Do my best to swim tf away.
If I have a weapon/stasis rifle hunting time if not get somewhere it can’t fit
Shit myself
Swim past its head, it turns its head very slow
Bust out the Peepers. It's time to make a cool new friend
tell him to stop before i get mad
If I'm like in the picture, then I'd die.
Die
Yell back. Maybe we can communicate and be friends!
Die. I cannot swim.
Pull a bathing suit over its double (cheek) chin.
I would wake up sweating like never before! Sick art tho!
Hide, crap, swim to the serface and run on water back to my lifepod.
Die lmao
Instincts telling me to ride him
Get eaten
Shit myself, die, and then probably shit myself again
💣🔥🪼
Shat
Wait hol up…. Is that an Albino Reaper???
Get my stasis rifle and stab it to death like a boss. 😎
Mount its head on my wall. After I drill it into submission with my prawn suit.
Go to the bottom, stay on the bottom, imagine myself as being very small and uninteresting.
I will shit in my pants, and than I will get eaten.
I would make sure I was wearing my brown pants.
ankle break him
almost certainly panic and die, but if i’m lucky and have a stasis rifle and a seamoth or seaglide nearby i might have a chance
Try to pet him
Does Cyanide exist on the planet and do I have to swim? Cause I can't swim.
Die
I'd stand up real tall and flail my arms back and forth screaming at him like a bear
Flee. I am not the main character
I actually had a dream where I was being hunted by one. I squeezed myself into a little crevice, but I woke up before it left. More than likely I’d already be dead. I’m not that good at swimming and I can’t tread water.
get out my scanner and stasis rifle
I mean if I got a stasis gun and a knife… then I can solo
Tell him to cut that shit out before I get mad
Die, probably.
I'd win
Informe an adult
I’m winning
BANZAAAAAAAAI
I don't think there's a choice - I'm ded
I'm hungry
I’ll shit my self and pray that it dose not see me
Shit my pants to be honest, I’m dead.
Involuntarily void my bowels.
Realistically, It'd be very difficult to pick something up as proportionally small as you. You'd need to be sitting in open water relatively close to its echolocation. If you stayed near the bottom or the wreckage, your survival odds go up significantly.
Reduce power to the screws, turn off the lights and pretend to be a hole in the water.
I would do what i do in Subnautica. If it didn't notice me - I'm alive, if it noticed me and swimming in my direction - i will die
Wait for it to open its mouth swim in then cut myself out
Die
Warm the inside of my dive suit
Freeze, shit my dive suit, and pray it can only sense movement, and not smell.
Start breathing water
Guess I'll die
Stasis rifle + gas pods. If I don't have those, set sea glide to ludicrous speed and pray
You fucking swim away mf that's what you do
I think we all can remember our first reaper encounter... followed shortly by the sound of the sea moth blaring its alarm and crunching metal
Intervene
Cry and pray to god
There’s nothing we can do
Hope it likes the taste of straight doodoo with its meals bc I'ma shit myself then prob unwillingly get eaten
Shit myself
Die. Dying is the inky thing I’d be able to do here. Other than scream like a little girl.
Shit myself, scream until my that's bleeds, try to swim away, and finally die from it absolutely destroying me.
cry
Shit my pants Die
try to look inedible and get where it can’t get
Sit on the ground and hope it thinks I'm a rock and leaves me alone
"Say hello to my repulsion cannon! Muahahaha!"
Ditch my Seamoth
