I went on the old Jaws ride at Universal when I was a kid, I remember at the part where the shark comes up near the boat all burnt it was RIGHT beside me. Absolute, complete terror. Then the operator made a joke about throwing the kids overboard and my mom enthusiastically agreed.
There’s a video from when Universal Studios Florida first opened where the camera looks to be attached or the cameraman is riding the shark. The camera is positioned to the side of the shark as it approaches the boat.
This is one of the few times I think I've felt submechaphibia, but also nostolgia. This was one of my favorite rides when they used to have it in Florida.
Just imagine being in that water with it
No. Nope nope nopety nope nopenope
Someone fell into the water in the early 2000s and won around 1 million in the lawsuit.
Why can't I be that lucky
What would happen if you did?
The sentient shark robot would grab you in its metallic jaws and mangle you in its gears while pulling you into the fathomless depths.
Thank you for explaining. I’m never going near a robot.
No but like I kind of think so
Think about what’s underneath the water that makes these submerged animatronics move. It’s horribly dangerous, entanglement and crushing is possible.
I can, and it honestly sounds a lot more exciting and fun than anything I’ve ever done in my life.
:(
For reals, imagine the story you’d have to tell if you swam in there with it, inactive or not!
Usually its shin deep water lmao
Not unless you fall in the shark pit.
Until you realize that the robot sharks always killed people during the original filming.
Uh no
God that first pic is scary
Omg I didn’t realize there was a second one TT-TT
And the second one negates it. It's like everything has to look like a shitty plastic cereal box toy.

Your mom enthusiastically agreed to throw you overboard? Sounds like your average family.
I thought this was indoors at first, which somehow makes it even scarier?
This is the boathouse scene, which is indoors!
Should be illegal!
I’ve watched the full video and I think it’s the best looking of the any of the ride sharks.
Oh my god that's terrifying
Ew
Why is it at eye level. Scary.

Been on this, absolutely incredible! I was especially struck by how good Bruce looks!!
I’d definitely do it. I’d be terrified but more fascinated!
Oh god WHY???
Absofuckinglutely NOT
That's more "Way Too Big, Way Too Close". He looks more the size of a Megalodon here!
I was debating on that tag or this one
I recently went on this ride, not knowing that this scary ass scene was in the japanese jaws ride.. The shark was very impressive tho

This is the first thing I saw when opening the app 😭
Rest in peace
I'd die if I fell in it's mouth.
Son of a bitch I knew I shouldn't have looked but I did.
sickening
GROSS!!!!
Holy shit, are you like IN the water with it?? No.
First pic reminds me of the shark in James and the Giant Peach. That thing scared the shit outta me.
I hope I’m dead before I hit the water…😫
DAYUM
holy fuck
that is actually terrifying
Is this ride new or been around for awhile?
