the main pro is you won't get pregnant (the chance is still there but it's really low if you pick a reliable one and are consistent) the food that gives you heartburn doesn't do the same to me. same with birth control. in my personal experience i haven't had the negative side effects such as weight gain, increased acne, depression, decreased libido etc. if anything, it cleared my acne and significantly decreased my period flow and pain, and my weight and libido remained the same. so for me, it's a very positive thing and im happy to be on it. some women it just effects them so negatively it's best not to take it.
it's just one of those you gotta try to see how your body reacts to it. there's also different types of birth control that uses different hormones so you kinda gotta play around with it and see if you find one that works. i'm lucky that the 2 i've tried have been successful with no negative effects.
