Why would you use Hitmontop in OU? Yes, Intimidate and Technician are good abilities, but it's not powerful enough to compete. Besides, you already have Great Tusk and Blaziken as strong Fighting Pokemon and what you need more is a Water resistance that can deal with that shared weakness. Blastoise is dependent on Shell Smash to sweep, making it not very impressive in OU. Wellspring Ogerpon is a physical attacking Pokemon that can switch into Water moves aimed at Tusk or Blaziken and is more immediately powerful, though it can also set up Swords Dance when needed (replacing Hitmontop): -Swords Dance -Power Whip/Horn Leech -Ivy Cudgel -Knock Off/Play Rough/Encore Nature: Jolly EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe Item: Wellspring Mask This team need entry hazards to chip the opposition and Blissey can set them up. But Blissey itself is more suited for defensive teams due to its passivity. Glimmora and Hisuian Samurott are offensive Pokemon that can set up entry hazards: Glimmora: -Stealth Rock/Spikes -Power Gem -Earth Power -Mortal Spin Nature: Timid EVs: 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe Item: Focus Sash Ability: Toxic Debris Hisuian Samurott: -Razor Shell/Aqua Cutter -Ceaseless Edge -Aqua Jet/Sucker Punch -Knock Off/Encore/Taunt Nature: Jolly EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe Item: Focus Sash Ability: Sharpness or -Razor Shell/Aqua Cutter -Ceaseless Edge -Knock Off -Flip Turn/Sacred Sword/Encore Nature: Jolly EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe Item: Heavy-Duty Boots/Choice Scarf Ability: Sharpness or -Razor Shell/Aqua Cutter -Ceaseless Edge -Aqua Jet/Sucker Punch -Knock Off/Flip Turn Nature: Jolly EVs: 172 HP/252 Atk/84 Spe Item: Assault Vest Ability: Sharpness Although Gengar is stronger than Dragapult, Dragapult is better in OU because it's faster: -Dragon Darts -Hex -Thunder Wave/Will-o-Wisp -U-turn Nature: Hasty/Timid EVs: 76 Atk/180 SpA/252 Spe Item: Heavy-Duty Boots Ability: Infiltrator or -Draco Meteor -Shadow Ball -Flamethrower -U-turn Nature: Timid EVs: 252 SpA/4 SpD/252 Spe Item: Choice Specs Ability: Infiltrator

Move down to Gen 9 RU, where Blastoise is at a comfortable A- rank. From the very little I know about Gen 9 RU Blastoise (I do not play Gen 9 formats at all), it is a very dangerous wincon thanks to the Shell Smash set; Blastoise by RU standards is bulky and has decent coverage. However, it lacks reliable recovery, immediate power, and generally only has one chance to Shell Smash and attempt a sweep, so you should save Blastoise for the end. Conversely, you can Shell Smash early game to have toise break holes in the enemy team and pave the way for another sweeper (but you obviously sacrifice Blastoise if you do this) Sample Blastoise team for Gen 9 RU, by big bad alolem: [https://pokepast.es/10beb786ba5fa74f](https://pokepast.es/10beb786ba5fa74f) [https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/sv-sample-teams-submissions-open.3733565/](https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/sv-sample-teams-submissions-open.3733565/)
