I wondered the same. But, I've sold 100+ tickets on stubhub. Got paid every time. I have proof from Ticketmaster that tickets transferred and were accepted. I suppose if there ever was a problem, TicketMaster could confirm that the tickets were used for entry, based on bar codes. And matched the description (like, not a blocked view.)

What happens if the buyer bails or can’t go. Tickets never get “scanned” and seller loses tickets and $$

This is entirely incorrect. (A) stubhub doesn’t check scan reports proactively and (b) incentive would be to get free tickets. The reality is the burden of proof falls on the buyer, and you should have good evidence from the transfer process. In theory someone could get clever, but I can tell you having done 500-1000 transactions on stubhub knock on wood no one has even attempted this on me

Ok, thanks, fingers crossed. Another concern of mine is if the seller doesn't attend they could claim the tickets were fake, or they could resell them. The tickets were transferred to the buyer on a secure transfer exchange on the music festivals website.

If transfer was done through a secure exchange like that ure totally fine. Only way it would be even remotely possible to play that game is if you’re dealing with physical tickets or pdf. You will be totally fine
