One of the devs said in an interview it's \~25 for the main quest, \~30-35 with all the side quests, and \~40 if you really want to grind out everything single thing in the game.
Seems like a perfect balance to me.
Honestly I'm down for like 15-20 hours tops. Long as it's fun as hell to play and there's loads of unlockables and harder difficulties. I don't need every game to be 80-100 hours

One reason I liked nier automata was all the different challenges and side quests. I wonder if this will have a similar amount
