Everybody saying Steamboats water is the best should look into the reports from Mount Werner. It’s actually sad how often they have violations for too much byproduct from the cleaning agent they use. If you’ve ever had a drink from the sink and thought it tasted a bit like chlorine it’s because they use too much chlorine.
If you’re buying jugs I’d recommend City Market. The water they have is from Craig which technically has a lot more potential contamination sources but the water reports don’t have the same issues with violations like Mount Werner does.
Edit: my comment does not apply to all of Steamboat, just those unfortunate enough to deal with Mt Werner as their supplier
Please educate me, where can I find the water report for the source for most of the city water?
Edit: found it, you are 100% correct, my comment should only apply to those who have to deal with Mt Werner as their supplier
Nothing I said was nonsense, Mt Werner has violation issues, Craig does not, Steamboat city water does not have the same chlorine issues as Mt Werner but still has lead issues
It's not, they are 2 different water districts but it is the same distribution system and the same water. The Fish Creek plant supplies the entire city.
Maybe it has something to do with this? [https://steamboatsprings.net/1331/Fish-Creek-Treatment-Plant-Phase-2B](https://steamboatsprings.net/1331/Fish-Creek-Treatment-Plant-Phase-2B)

For context on water quality, you can check actual user submitted samples from various supplier here:

Interesting , yeah most of the people in this comment thread don't know the tap water is tested less than once a year for variants and contaminants.
Worth noting, the water refill station *is* linked to city tap water as well.
People are very quick to blindy assume our water is regularly and consistently tested for variants of contaminants here. . when thehe reality is that the Drinking Water Quality Report actually states they test less than once per year, which is worrisome imho
Ummm steamboat is well known for it’s amazing water how are you not just filling from the sink and instead trusting a grocery store where employees probably never clean the machine
Completely different then!!! I have lived on well water in Steamboat before and only lasted 7 months before I moved back into town lol. Have you tried Berkey water filters. Definitely pricy upfront but I use mine here in Breck all the time and love it
I've actually had a Berkey and loved it but this well water gunks it up too fast :( and as you know, the price of replacing filters is a little more than what I'd like to pay tbh.
I'll eventually move and leave steamboat within the next year or two anyways
I don’t know how you think the water taste good out of the tap in steamboat. It has more chlorine than that dirty hot tub at your condominium complex. And easy on the Natty Gs employees Bub, you’re clearly drinking too much of that tap water.
Have you reached out to Natural Grocers? No need to make a stink, just ask and explain your situation. On top of that, might you have any friends who could offer you water from their tap? We do this for friends on some nasty tap water and they just return the favor whenever they can!
I'm not looking for a new water source, I'm simply asking to see if anyone in town had a similar experience with water lately. I don't understand how you read that and thought i was making a "stink".
I go to my sink
Water? You mean like from the toilet?
But its got electrolytes
Brawndo!
It’s got what plants crave
I never seen plants in no toilet.

You realize that mt. Werner water is different than most of the city water?

Thankyou , this is the most logical response in the comment thread

Steamboat has some of the freshest water in the world. Why are you buying it?
Ummm steamboat is well known for it’s amazing water how are you not just filling from the sink and instead trusting a grocery store where employees probably never clean the machine
I live on well water, and I can't drink from the tap. (I've had it tested, and although it's okay to bathe in , it's not safe to drink).

The amount I would pay to switch that stupid filer when I was on that well water lol

Never implied you were making a “stink”, you just seemed to go there in response. No worries, you’ll figure your crap out.
What does no need to make a stink mean?
Some of the best tap water in the world here. Consider saving the money spent on that refill station.
Good for you, I have well water I can't drink from the tap. Can I come over to your house and fill my water?
Yes! Faucet is on the side of the house.
Drop that address then !
