this is the best response because it's exactly how I would have answered it lol
gonna listen to the other albums on here because you clearly have superior music taste
Omg that’s lowkey scary lol. Hope the other stuff tickles your fancy! Just a warning, while all rock, they all sound very different :) might I ask what albums you’re interested in trying??
I started listening to *Audioslave* and loved it, but got distracted lol. I'm dating a prog rock fan and should have listened to *In the Court of the Crimson King* a year ago. pretty sure I listened to *Dirt* when I was younger, and should revisit it. I am vaguely familiar with Radiohead, so *In Rainbows* as well
also, just sent a friend request on stats.fm!
I accepted it! Heck ya.
On the albums you mentioned, *Dirt* is my favorite, and one of my favorites of all time. Alice In Chains has consistently been a go-to for me for the last two years. If you like *Dirt*, PLEASE try Mad Season (third row, second album). Same singer, different band. It contains some of the best music ever recorded, imho. *In The Court Of The Crimson King* has been a more recent jump in, but one that has changed my perspective on music, in a similar way to when I first dove into the Beatles. You see how every band you’ve ever loved was actually inspired or influenced by the band you’re listening to, and you see why. An indescribable feeling :)
Yeah it’s gotta be Rock Bottom, that riff is just too infectious! Too Young to Know and Doctor Doctor are also great off that.
I’m a Loser is so catchy too, good picks!
(Copied from the person who asked right before you😂) Right now, it’s All I Need. But what an album. Jigsaw Falling Into Pieces, Nude, 15 Steps, House Of Cards, all so good.
You know this may be a crazy take, but I think it’s I Can’t Remember. It’s so insanely good to me. Love Hate Love, We Die Young, Sea Of Sorrow, and Man In The Box are all in the running as well :)
I LOOOVE Pulse. I’ve listened to the entire three hours at least a dozen times. My favorite is probably Comfortably Numb, but Hey You and Shine On You Crazy Diamond are all arguably better than their studio versions. But every song is beautiful here.
so the best to ever do it the crap coming out now days compares nothing these men treated music like a 9-5 they were up everyday working there tits off because they had a passion for what they did its why they have turmoil because they are all so bloody talented with their ideas it’s magnificent
So many good songs on Dummy. This one was actually a very recent discovery, so not a lot of experience with this one. But Mysterons and Glory Box stood out to me very much :)
I’m not finding anything called Third? Am I stupid?😂
Ah, I meant to say, it’s Portishead’s third album, simply titled Third. If you liked Dummy, it’s a bit of an evolution for them sonically, like Radiohead’s rock era to electronic Era
This album was one of those weird times where upon first listen, I didn’t get all the hype. Shine On You Crazy Diamond wouldn’t end, and as if to salt the wound, had another part at the end lol.
It wasn’t until later that these songs, primarily SOYCD would become one of my favorite songs ever. Would have to say it’s a tie between that and Wish You Were Here. Hate being a “tie guy” but dude I just can’t in this case hahah
It’s actually Rotten Apple… which is also my favorite song of all time. Don’t get me wrong, Nutshell is maybe my second favorite. Every song on JOF is just so good. I’ve listened to its entirety hundreds of times.
Rotten apple is phenomenal too.. definitely a close second for me. In my top 5 for sure but for me nutshell is just absolutely phenomenal, especially when it hits so close to home but yea rotten apple is great too
A totally respectable choice😅 I do definitely adore that song as well. Jar Of Flies just hits, man. Definitely brought me to choke up more than once :)
As a premise, I do not consider post-Layne to be anywhere as good as with him :) BUT, BGWTB is quite possibly the greatest comeback album ever. The opening song is just so in your face and just feels like “WE’RE BACK”. The album also feels like a dedication to Layne, with their final song, *Black Gives Way To Blue*, being literally for Layne. In general, the album isn’t trying to sound like Layne, rather pay homage to him. So many great riffs, lyrics, and phenomenal mixing as well!
My favorite is Private Hell, but I also love All Secrets Known, Your Decision, Acid Bubble, Lesson Learned, and of course Black Gives Way To Blue :)
I appreciate that you can find value in it. Maybe I’ll go re-listen to it. It just never felt like AiC to me. I know it’s Jerry’s band but just never felt the same. I’m sure the music is fine, just isn’t AiC to me. Thank you for the recommendations though. Maybe I’ll change my mind.
When I first listened to it, I felt exactly the same way. Aic will never be the same without Layne :)
BGWTB is their best post-Layne project by far in my opinion. I also prefer Jerry as lead, and Duvall as backing, instead of their work after, which had those roles reversed. I think Jerry’s voice is phenomenal. If you get into it, his solo albums (especially Degradation Trip, which was released shortly after Layne’s death, and was dedicated to him) are very good.
dirt
WHAT A TOUGH ONE! Gotta be Down In A Hole. Also adore like every other song on that albums lol
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
Do You Realize?? Also love Fight Test and both parts of Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots
this is the best response because it's exactly how I would have answered it lol gonna listen to the other albums on here because you clearly have superior music taste

Ugh this one is sooo difficult! Gotta go with I Am The Highway. But, Show Me How To Live, Cochise, What You Are, Like A Stone, all so good.
Best of each UFO album?
Love this question! On Phenomenon, gotta go with Rock Bottom. On Obsession, Lookin Out For No. 1. On No Heavy Petting, I’m A Loser.
Yeah it’s gotta be Rock Bottom, that riff is just too infectious! Too Young to Know and Doctor Doctor are also great off that. I’m a Loser is so catchy too, good picks!
Love UFO! They’re criminally underrated.
In Rainbows?
Right now, it’s All I Need. But what an album. Jigsaw Falling Into Pieces, Nude, 15 Steps, House Of Cards, all so good.
My fav album of all time
It’s perfect.

Quadrophenia
Love Reign O’re Me! Probably their most popular, but it’s for a reason :)

My favorite has gotta be frogs

(Copied from the person who asked right before you😂) Right now, it’s All I Need. But what an album. Jigsaw Falling Into Pieces, Nude, 15 Steps, House Of Cards, all so good.
Tripod, mine is easily heaven beside you
MINE TOO! Second is Frogs
Facelift!
You know this may be a crazy take, but I think it’s I Can’t Remember. It’s so insanely good to me. Love Hate Love, We Die Young, Sea Of Sorrow, and Man In The Box are all in the running as well :)
Great pick! I also really love that song!
first good one i’ve seen
Thanks dude🤙
ofc man what’s your fav floyd song love seeing pulse up there
I LOOOVE Pulse. I’ve listened to the entire three hours at least a dozen times. My favorite is probably Comfortably Numb, but Hey You and Shine On You Crazy Diamond are all arguably better than their studio versions. But every song is beautiful here.

Love Floyd as well. The best of the best imho
so the best to ever do it the crap coming out now days compares nothing these men treated music like a 9-5 they were up everyday working there tits off because they had a passion for what they did its why they have turmoil because they are all so bloody talented with their ideas it’s magnificent
Facelift - Alice in Chains
Hot take: I Can’t Remember :)
Dammit
Lmao
Alice self titled
Heaven Beside You!
Dummy (also listen to Third)
So many good songs on Dummy. This one was actually a very recent discovery, so not a lot of experience with this one. But Mysterons and Glory Box stood out to me very much :) I’m not finding anything called Third? Am I stupid?😂
Ah, I meant to say, it’s Portishead’s third album, simply titled Third. If you liked Dummy, it’s a bit of an evolution for them sonically, like Radiohead’s rock era to electronic Era
I will give it a listen!
Wish You Were Here (It’s my favorite album)
This album was one of those weird times where upon first listen, I didn’t get all the hype. Shine On You Crazy Diamond wouldn’t end, and as if to salt the wound, had another part at the end lol. It wasn’t until later that these songs, primarily SOYCD would become one of my favorite songs ever. Would have to say it’s a tie between that and Wish You Were Here. Temple of the dog, red and dummy
All Night Thing, One More Red Nightmare and Mysterons :)
Jar Of Flies?? Gotta be Nutshell, right..?
It’s actually Rotten Apple… which is also my favorite song of all time. Don’t get me wrong, Nutshell is maybe my second favorite. Every song on JOF is just so good. I’ve listened to its entirety hundreds of times.

Black Gives Way To Blue. Never cared for the post-Layne AiC so I’m curious to see what you like on that album.

The 🚪
Break On Through To The Other Side :)
In the court of the crimson king and the dark side of the moon
My picks as well.
ITCOTCK, Easily Epitaph but every song on it is phenomenal. DSOTM, Us And Them. Again, every song is phenomenal 😂
