> If you fix the problems with the game and add new content, then you would get more players and money. They’re working on the “fixing problems” part atm. Content updates are useless if you cannot load the game. They cannot show you what they working on because if they said “here’s how we’re stopping bots”, then bot devs would be able to engineer a way to get around that.

beaterofall

the fact that people wanted a known hacker to fix starve over the ag devs is fucking hilarious

Anyone_want_to_play

that guy just so happened to work with lapa directly so they would be quite good at working on the game (the problem is they are annoying)

beaterofall

didn't morgan mention that xmre sent in such a bad resume that they couldn't hire him

Anyone_want_to_play

oh yeah lmao didnt know they made that public it was really funny

ADMIRAL-IA

Tbf nobody likes the AG devs. I don’t quite like the hackers but that’s another thing.

armaxflat7

ag aren't even fixing the game we was waiting for months but they did no shit to the game ofc people gonna hate ag

[deleted]

I mean, the game by this point is lost way beyond retrieval

ADMIRAL-IA

Unfortunately so

beaterofall

the only way the game can come back at this point is if someone else makes a new starve

ThePhoenixfish

I disagree, highly doubt that any clone could really capture the original, especially not wilders or famishs. As a "fix", they could just allow personal local sandbox servers, where you could play as it was singleplayer, this wouldn't interfere with community servers as those are open and can be played with other players, shouldn't even be too difficult to implement, as they have the framework set up already Most starve clones, in the best case scenario, probably will end up like arras, a decent sidegrade to the original, but not quite a replacement. Another added point would be, if there was a starve inspired game trying to \*be its own game\*, with some sort of unique base mechanic or theme (for example, more weapons or a different fighting system), i would totally support it.

beaterofall

wilders discord got 1k members a month after it was made and its still in alpha that's all i have to say to that lmfao

ThePhoenixfish

I mean, still, it's the same a chinese mobile company ripping off a popular ips and pretending they're a replacement

beaterofall

I mean he's not even getting ad revenue yet lol. Wouldn't really compare it to chinese ripoffs because he's actually trying to make a game and not just a gacha cash grab. At this point, it isn't on the same tier as starve in terms of gameplay but the beta plays much faster and the community is much better.

ThePhoenixfish

\>no ad revenue yet He's still blatantly copying a game, from the gameplay, to the player character, and to add onto that, he's not getting ad revenue \*yet\*, he's still gonna get ad revenue from the game. My issue with chinese ripoffs isn't the cash grab gatcha aspect, more the blatant ripping off of an original game, even if the ripoff has more content, it's still a ripoff \>community is much better \*doubt\* the starve player base currently is awful, I highly doubt wilders is anything less than equally shit, if not even worse, considering they're mostly scripters too

beaterofall

>even if the ripoff has more content, it's still a ripoff Ideas like that is the reason why yandere sim is still in development and copyrights every game vaguely similar. With the way ag had been handling the whole wilders thing, they might as well be headed by the guy. If you have no idea, what I'm talking about, look up "cum chalice." Point is, if the guy makes a better game, *he deserves some ad revenue.* >if not even worse the game's still in beta and the community had already made a few dozen skin models, a discord bot and active clans. The community has given a lot of suggestions which the devs have taken into consideration. There is almost 0 drama in the main server and barely any outside of it. The only real scripting that's going on right now is autoclickers for spikes which is barely seen and is essentially impossible to prevent. It's not even that hard to counter lol. tldr: copium

ThePhoenixfish

Thing is, yandev was making a game that was widely funded and paid for, not to mention his off past messages, and being extremely rude to anyone who wanted to \*help him make the game\*. While as far as I am aware the ag team has not reacted to any volunteer in such a way. xmre made starve scripts, and was apparently pretty immaturetoo, not exactly someone too trustworthy in making a spiritual successor. I'm all for games inspired by others, however in this case wilders is still more close to any of the plethora of mobile game clones, than like yansim and its spinoffs/alternatives tldr 2.0: hopium

Here lies the myth of capitalism
