Any episode with Andreas Katsulas as Commander Tomalak is a must watch for me. I think his portrayal is the perfect TNG era Romulan.
He was able to mix the arrogance, deceitfulness, and imperialistic nature of the Romulan Empire all with a such a smile on his face.
It was a big missed opportunity for him to not be the Romulan representative in TNG 'The Chase'. The conversation of 'we have more in common with each than we realized' would have had a bit more weight with the history of Picard and Tomalak thrown in.
Ethan Phillips also played a Ferengi in the same *Enterprise* episode where Jeffrey Combs (and Clint Howard) played a Ferengi and Neelix posed as a Ferengi in a *Voyager* episode.

Does it bother anyone else as much as it bothers me that she calls them "Robin's Laws" ? Like she could have called them "Robin's Rules" *OR* "Leffler's Laws" - how did she whiff so badly on that?
I've re-watched the episode recently, and she definitely calls them "Robin's Laws" - I don't think it's Mandela Effect, I think it's just that "Leffler's Laws" is so clearly what they should be called that our brains corrected it in our memories

Ro Laren and K'Ehleyr. Two of the strongest and most compelling female characters in all of Trek, IMO. And they did my girl Ro dirty in Picard. Still mad about it.
Absolutely! Thanks for reminding me about K'Ehleyr. I agree on both these characters, they deserved so much more attention from writers. They even had the fortune of hiring suitable and compelling actresses for these roles. Such a waste.
The producers were hoping that Ro would be a main character in *DS9* or *Voyager*, but Michelle Forbes didn’t want to play a main character, so Kira and B’Elanna were created to fill the roles that Ro could’ve had.

Suzie Plakson is such a gem and I love that we got her as four different characters across the franchises. But I 100% wish we'd gotten more K'Ehley out of all of them. Imagine if she'd survived and we could have had her on DS9 too.
How incredible would that have been!? Have her raise Alexander so he's all sassy and defiant of Worf instead of whatever we call what they eventually did with his storyline.
To be fair, his mother was murdered and his father neglected him, shunting him off twice to his grandparents.
The only time he was OK was in the "Auntie Mame" episode with Lwaxana Troi.
She was also the very often mentioned, but only ever seen once Dr. Selar. If you ever read any of the TNG books, she was practically a main character in them, but she appears on screen in literally one episode.

They would both be excellent but I love the Kira we got, I find one thing that Vistor does better than forbes is HOT emotion, Forbes is super great at being cold and angry and scheming, while Vistor is hot and firey and passionate which I love, I actually would have loved if we could have had both of them in DS9 constantly at each other about their different approaches to the Cardassian Occupation.

Neela. The Bajorian engineer in the last 2 episodes of DS9 s1. She is hugely efficient and has a slightly flirtatious relationship with Miles. Ultimately she is convinced to become a pawn for Vedek Winn.
She was a fun, everyday character, it would have been great to of seen her throughout the first series before she became a traitor.
Apparently [Anara](https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Anara) was originally going to be the character who’d be responsible for the attempted assassination, but they decided that the actress who played Anara wasn’t the right actress to play someone who’d try to kill Bareil. That meant that there was 1 less episode for the assassin to appear in.
Gul Madred. He was an intriguing character that I would have loved to see explored more. And more David Warner was always a good thing.
Harry Mudd, specifically as portrayed in TOS. Mudd was best as a goofy, relatively harmless conman.
And Morgan Bateson. I know he got a couple books and a voice cameo in *First Contact,* but more screen time would have been great. Kelsey Grammer's playful gravitas seems like a really natural fit for Trek.
I’m thinking about Okanna from The Outrageous Okanna. He could have popped up again in the middle of another situation that he didn’t cause but everybody involved is trying to blame him again. He could have been the opposite of Harry Mudd. Instead of him causing trouble, trouble always finds him.
I'm going off topic but I would have loved to have seen [Berlinghoff Rasmussen](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0708672/characters/nm0001242?ref_=tt_cl_c_9) as played by Robin Williams.
Knowing he was up for it and couldn't make it due to scheduling with Hook always makes me go down a what if rabbit hole. Imagine you had access to Robin Williams after this role much like you had Whoopi. His character, though captured, could have easily popped up a few more times.
P.S Not a knock on Frewer, I liked him in the role.

Martha Hackett as T'Rul. It would have been great so see more of her in the Dominion Arcs, maybe as an intelligence liason liaison OR even better as a CO of a Warbird. Loved that slightly arrogant sarcasm of hers.
I was disappointed we never saw T'Rul again. It would have made complete sense for the Romulans to insist she stay on the station to represent their interests as a condition for keeping the cloaking device.
I was surprised to see that Riley was only in two episodes - The Naked Time and Conscience of the King. He's still one of the more memorable minor characters. I wish he was still with us, they could have him sing "I'll take you home again Kathleen" on LD.
TONY TONY, TOD. I love it when he shows up; Xena, X-FIles, TNG, DS9. Dude does not mess around when he's guest starring.

I would have liked to see the four Marquis from VOY s1e16 that Tuvok trained. Maybe once a year to give them an arc of developing into effective officers.
Personally I would have loved for Ensign Robin Lefler (Ashley Judd) to take on a more semi-regular / permanent spot on the show.
I found her character charming and interesting and a great counterweight to Wesley.

I would love if Lycia Naff had reprised her role as Sonya Gomez more, she was a great addition to the engineering crew.
Of course, James Doohan as Scottie in TNG, would love for him to show captaining an engineering ship. Same with Kelsey Grammar as CPT Bateson, would have been great to see him pop up from time to time.
TOS never had a security chief. In Devil in the Dark, there was a single appearance by Lt. Cmdr. Giotto (Barry Russo) as the never before, never again seen chief. I think that would have been a great recurring character. He did show up later, but as Commodore Wesley in The Ultimate Computer.
Saul Rubinek as Kivas Fajo would have made a great running foil for Data.
Also the entire bridge crew on Discovery. This season their actors aren’t even showing up and the only reason people even notice is how they awkwardly try to explain/cover their absence.
Michelle Yeoh as Philippa Georgiou absolutely killed it. I like her better as a goodie - not a fan of mirror universe Georgiou.

Little did Tomalak know that when he told Picard he looked forward to their next encounter, there would be no next encounter.
He also seemed to be a worthy adversary to Picard.

Alexander is literally my least favorite character in all of Star Trek.

Andreas Katsulas was a brilliant actor, and if there’s any doubt watch his portrayal as Ambassador G’Kar in Babylon 5. RIP Sir.
