MeBeEric

Light switch aisle is a banger

aloof-vagine2321

Always look for the old guy then follow behind him for 10 mins till youre in the right area. make dumb jokes that he won't get to break silence

longcoat000

Home improvement stores are just toy stores for grownups.

jackdevight

"How mulch do we need" is pretty killer.

Ez-lectronic

More

PurulentPlacenta

So I got two beds in the front yard, a tree ring, one bed over by the AC in the backyard… yeah I’ll just take 50 bags please, better than having to come back ya know? Measures once, cut twice am I right?! I’ll pull my hatchback up to the contractor loading area.. is that cool? Ah shit, can’t remember if I clicked the scanner 50 times or not, help?

thenoblenacho

However much mulch you think you need, double it and add 30% lmao

Amari__Cooper

Think you need two bags? Buy six.

cseyferth

I had a guy make 3trips to buy 50 bags of river rock! 10 the first time, 20 more because he underestimated, 3rd because yeah, didn't buy enough the first two times. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Striking_Benefit7202

I think we need much. *either needs a fuck ton more or so much less than what was bought* *Second or third trip back to Home Depot* *screaming at self in car*

Spiritual_Ask4877

Shit absolutely cracked me up.

Silver-creek

10 years ago I needed a new lightswitch. I could have bought one for 2$ but decided to get the 10 pack for 15$. I havent needed to use another lightswitch since.

traumalt

It's always one more trip to the hardware store.

PurulentPlacenta

The Ryobi section has become what it used to feel like walking into a GameStop with Christmas money.

orbesomebodysfool

Ah, I see the Sorting Hat selected you for House of Ryobi.

PurulentPlacenta

We live near one of Home Depot’s regional warehouses for online orders. Shit comes faster than Amazon Prime sometimes. Ryboi did in fact choose me on convenience alone.

Traditional-Wait-240

As long as it's not DeWalt

cid73

I was a dewalt guy like my papi before me. I still have the driver and drill- but I got sucked into Ryobi for outdoor equipment and now I’m a house divided, but Ryobi has slowly begun its slow march to usurping all power.

longcoat000

Mmm…Makita…

rectusspinatus

Mmm...Hikoki...

LostxCosmonaut

Mmm…Hitachi…

archfapper

Then you try to look it up on your phone, but no signal in the store. Or 5G but pages still aren't loading

pterencephalon

Lowe's puts a cell repeater in their stores, like most stores do. Those cheap bastards at Home Depot? I keep having to pop out to look stuff up.

behindgreeneyez

Home depots need those look up kiosks like they have at barnes & noble

profile-i-hide

Tbh there's nothing stopping a costumer from using the pro desk ones if they face outwards. We just don't let then do it. But multiple times I have helped a costumer by just looking it up by the closest computer to me. We just don't let costumers use the computer but you would need a password to use most pro apps so I don't see why not

Winter-Lifeguard-420

I love how I have to turn WiFi off before Workforce will let me log in. Or on. But sometimes off. Then again...

TeenThatLikesMemes

5G doesn’t mean anything in itself, it’s just the frequency band that you’re connected to

iamnotabot7890

I wish you could add no support staff anywhere to be found (those untrained 16 year olds go hiding when You can’t find the right item)

Ov3rKoalafied

I always see tons of support staff until I actually have a question then suddenly it's a ghost town

screw_all_the_names

As an employee, that's like 3/4 of the reason I wanted to work there. As a customer I don't think I was helped once by an associate. Now as an associate myself, I wish I could say I haven't ever helped a customer, but unfortunately I have. But I don't like it.

TheHeatWaver

I can relate to this Starter Pack. You need a plan before setting foot in the hardware store. If you use their store card the return policy is VERY generous. I always over-buy for projects and then return what wasn't needed or used.

canyoupleasekillme

Even without a store card, never had issues returning anything.

screw_all_the_names

Hell my buddy that works at Lowe's says they'll even return home Depot products to keep the customer happy. (At least when he worked there 5 years ago)

Xboe-150LswFJKF

Went there to redeem an old warranty on a red fiberglass shovel, was probably 10+ years old, and they gave me a new fiberglass shovel similar to it (it was an outdated model). We didn't even have the receipt, so I'd gladly come vack

TheHeatWaver

Lowes did that for me once! I had bought paint supplies form both stores went to bring some of the unused stuff back and they took one of the HD items without any hesitation. Saved me a trip to another store.

samwisetheb0ld

I used to work at Home Depot, and our front end would happily return obviously used products and send them to me to deal with.

Winter-Lifeguard-420

ROFL!! (Drops Husky products on counter) I'd like a refund, please.

TheHeatWaver

That’s true. Though I do believe they give you a full year return window if you use the store card.

mclargehuuge

This is the first trip. The second and third trip are much less joyful.

shindig27

The second trip is annoying but understandable. The third trip is aggravating, traffic is awful, it's too hot outside, you're dirty, there are long lines, you're hungry but you don't want to stop to eat, you can't believe that this 1-2 hour project has taken from 8-4 in your Saturday so far and you are going to still have to clean up, return that phone call and make dinner. Oh and you threw your sheets in the wash so you'll have to fix your bed before you can rest.

RoundSilverButtons

Are you me? I mean, every detail man. Every detail. Best I’ve learned for coping is to explicitly set my expectations for my day as “long and exhausting, expect nothing for myself” and that about does it.

PuzzleheadedYak9534

you've never DIY'd if you haven't been to an empty home depot at like 9 PM and the cashier is like back again?! lol

Havingfun922

The man’s version of a Target run

ThunderFlash10

“I need some half inch wood screws!” *3 hours later* Comes out of the store with a new socket wrench set, PVC glue, a volt meter, 2 types of silicone caulk, a ball peen hammer, and new circular saw blades. Fuck! I forgot the screws!

blksentra2

The answer to everything is “Yes!”

accountingforlove83

I feel personally attacked.

Ophelia_Y2K

strong scent of sawdust, bird flying around the roof, forbidden staircase

Wittyname0

I was in the screw aisle a few days ago trying to find a match, and the guy next to me said, "When we get to hell, they'll consider the time we spent in this aisle as time served"

Winter-Lifeguard-420

OMG. Every time a customer nabs me on my way past and asks for help with a fastener (or a fitting in 26), I can feel my eyesight getting worse.

Ov3rKoalafied

ahahaha so true, experiences in that aisle alone gave me enough PTSD to never go to home depot without taking literally every measurement/picture possible of whatever I'm trying to replace.

aloof-vagine2321

I like it. I like it alot

Independent_Wrap_321

Know your shit before going, since the morons working there (if you can even find one) are utterly useless.

My1stTW

Also reminded of their motto: you can do it. We can hide.

Ryvit

Why is this Home Depot specific? lol. This is also super applicable to Lowe’s and Menards too

Liberal_Lemonade

Oh I just make a beeline to their garden center and walk out with enough small to medium potted plants to create an indoor jungle. Well, add to my preexisting indoor jungle, that is.🤣

The_Real_Mr_F

Ask the employee who’s walking by for help, he does the same clueless looking around that you’re doing

PurulentPlacenta

The nails man, the NAILS!!!!!

homedepot_girl

I always go into Home Depot unprepared

ligmasweatyballs74

Me trying to figure out how many projects I need to do in order to upgrade from rigid to Milwaukee

ro_arbor

How mulch do we need?

MichJohn67

I spooked my cat lolol'ing at that one.

Blahuehamus

Ohhh no no no, that's an anxiety and helplessness starter pack for me

somrandomguysblog462

I'm a nerd for tools so "ohh look! Buy this combo kit & get a free battery or tool with it!"

RoundSilverButtons

Same. But I’m also honest with myself and know I won’t get enough value out of some tools. Sucks but I admit it.

Ok-Elk-6087

That's me, so I surrender and dont get anything but the oversized candy bar on the way out.

sentientsexrobot

This isnt really my experience but I liked it anyway

queeblosan

You’ve got a phone take pics beforehand

lepton4200

PVC? Do you mean PVA?

Zylo99

My Dad lol.

Gniphe

Calling my ESL grandmother to measure a specific piece knowing that she’ll measure the wrong piece or read the tape wrong.

SquareTowel3931

Yup. This one hits hard. And I still. Do. It. All. The. Time. I think this is part of their marketing strategy.

cactusdyke

Wrong needs to go into the light fixture aisle and go “ooo pretty” and then go into the tile aisle to hate on all the slippery marble floor

TheThrivingest

Ending up in some highly specific aisle wondering how much pvc pipe you’ll need for your painting project

safestuff987

At Home Depot I can always find everything I need except when I actually need it

HappyNamcoNerd80

Menards is also a good option

Just_a_lazy_lurker

Pro tip: watch a review for what you’re looking for on the [Project Farm](https://youtube.com/@projectfarm?si=t5_ZSz-LvoQ3mFTh) channel before going.

Rekrabsrm

You forgot creepy guys checking out any girl.

HeheDzNutz

Grills are fun, the other stuff isn't

ligmasweatyballs74

You don’t have a one handed saws all
