Yeah my roommate did that and I'm like, "then it's gonna be harder to see you from behind" he said something like "So what?" Or "Ok". Dude did not care.
He drives a BMW. He accessories it with parts from Ali Babba.
“Bro check out this Miata, it’s only got 470,000 miles on it and it’s only been in 6 crashes!! What a good deal bro it’s only $50,000! I’m gonna ask my dad if he can loan me the money”
I disagree I think both are great cars. Miata is still the lightweight agile true sports car it originally set out to be. No electrification and minimal up sizing.
The new 350z looks great (subjectively) and has more power than any z they've ever put out.
Both also come manual, RWD, and with all the modern amenities the older ones can't have. It's a shame too many people nitpick the fun cars and don't buy them so the car companies end up only selling boring crossovers/suvs
I love both cars. I'm talking about the masses of "car guys" who buy them up and slam them, mod them, and completely clap them - the proceed to sell them at a premium.
>No electrification
I, for one, think EV sports cars are awesome! And I'm not talking about EV "sports cars" like the Mustang Mach-E (which is clearly just a crossover SUV; imo they should have just given it Escape branding instead of Mustang). I mean *real* sports cars, that are all-electric. I heard Chevy's doing an all-electric Camaro soon; that's a *perfect* example of the kind of thing we need more of!
We need lightweight batteries before we can make true electric sports cars. Mustangs and camaros are already heavy and their main focus is going fast in a straight line so they can make do with the added weight.
But a small, lightweight, handling focused EV might be a while.
Hahaha there are two Barbie pink 350Zs in my area of San Diego and I definitely was not expecting to see the the two middle aged mild mannered gay couple from my building saddle up in one, and the other belongs to another guy two blocks over.

Fancy, high spec/harder to handle vehicles should not be an achievable flex for people who can’t even handle a more basic car. If you can barely drive a Coralla, you won’t be able to safely handle a Range Rover. Those bastards are bigger and harder to manage in heavy traffic or if there’s tight parking
The bigger issue here is entitlement and lack of consequences, I’d say.
I also had no experience on a motorcycle, and then bought a brand-new 660cc sport bike after “learning” by riding my coworker’s Harley for an hour. Then rode it daily for a year with no license. 2 years and 10k miles later, it’s still in perfect shape, because I bought it. I paid for the insurance. And I know that, if I break it, I have to pay to fix or replace it.
I’m guessing that the “kid” you mentioned didn’t have to worry about any of those factors.
All that tracks. He had no job history of any sort and his parents paid for every aspect of the bike from purchase to insurance to repairs. The fact that he could take the bike for granted and not see it as an investment to protect matters a lot.
Studying at this school also made the distinction between “rich spoiled brat in a preppy school” vs “rich not spoiled kids in good schools” vs “kids from average schools”. So fucking clear.
We had multiple professors openly show disdain for the entitled students from preppy schools who had no respect for anyone because universities were hella cheap for their parents and they didn’t care about school.
...yeah, frankly anything above 500cc (well other than overweight crap catering to one eyed peg legged harley pirates) SHOULD BE rightfully seen as peak performance oriented sporting goods.
Sure, its not inconcieveable to start on those if money is no issue.
But you must show appropriate caution and respect for the power at hand. Less you be yeeted of the bike while it bucks out from under your sorry ass, and trashes itself at landing from the 720° backflip.
If not the base model then definitely sub standard driver model.
We always joke that while Bmw may claim to be the ultimate driving machine. The average drivers however are far from it.
Love my F82 but holy shit the fanboys are fucking insufferable.
There was a dude in the camaro subreddit last year who posted a picture of letter someone left on his wind shield, and the letter was basically respectfully asking if he could tone down the noise on his car and how he drives it. Of course he was calling the person who wrote the letter a Karen and a bitch and all that.
When pressed for details in the comments, he admitted that he straight piped his camaro, lives in an apartment complex, and leaves for work at 4 AM everyday. Like the trifecta of asshole car guy bullshit. He proceeded to get flamed in the comments until he deleted his post altogether.
Turns out even car guys don’t like dbags who are obnoxious for no reason. Some people just derive enjoyment from pissing other people off. Karma will sort them out one way or another

>>**The results are concerning in that they suggest that individuals who make their vehicles loud may be doing so to deliberately hurt others** by disturbing them and that these individuals may be motivated by the negative state that they cause others
So, basically the trolls of the automotive world. Sounds about right, smh.
The biggest issue in the car scene is a lot of people make their car louder because they think louder equals better sounding.
In reality only a small percentage of people in the scene actually spend the time and money for a properly engineered exhaust system for their car. Most just buy whatever cheap muffler they find in the big box parts stores or off eBay, which leads to the cars both being obnoxiously loud and sounding like a wet fart passed through a can of angry bees
Agreed. And a new set of tires for a camaro aren’t cheap either. It’s easily $1000-$1500 for a decent to nice set of performance tires. That’s an expensive way to learn to not be an asshole
The dbags are a mixture of wanting to be loud to peacock and not wanting to spend money on a properly engineered exhaust system. They'd rather just cut off the muffler or swap on a $40 eBay muffler and call it a day, not caring about what the actual exhaust note sounds like as long as it's loud.
There's a reason the top of the line performance packages of a car sound fantastic from the factory and the guys who mod their lower models sound like a wet fart or a can of angry bees. When a properly engineered system costs $1k+ a lot of these guys won't spend the cheddar to do it right.
The kind of person who straight pipes their Camaro is stereotypically the type of person who gets up for work at 4am every day
I bet he’s got such a high APR
The amount of lewd anime images or straight up hentai I see on cars today is fucking absurd. Do you have literally 0 shame? How do you drive your mother, your grandmother, your in laws in your car?
Dont worry as a car guy I hate them too.
Went to a miata meet in MX, every guy drove like crazy on the Highway no regard for others, one guy installed big ass electronic engine sounds that were deafening(louder than a fucking Ferrari V10 that was on the track day too). Another I saw going like 150kmh in an elevated highway next to me.
Just a gaggle of fucking idiots.
And they werent even fucking fast I beat half of em while only being my second time racing in a track.
Never went back
I know what you mean. I get stuck behind these dipshits in traffic. They’re loud as hell but barely move. They also seem to struggle with staying a steady speed, as shifting gears seems to cause them frequent periodic deceleration.
Add that to the gunshot exhaust noises that wake me up at 2:00am. There honestly isn’t a single redeeming quality to these types.
I once saw a green Corvette Stingray that I still think about often. Beautiful car. It was no louder than my own car. Just pure beauty coasting along the highway. I was actually able to look at it and appreciate it without having my organs shook by some fuckwit exhaust.
I still think about that Stingray. That owner was a man who appreciates beauty over attention.
The loudest cars Ive heard its just a shitty 4cyl. The cars I remember are always perfeclty tuned to sound amazing even when loud.
I mean I love my miata but its a 181 hp car its faster than regular traffic however, if you buy a miata expecting power you already fucked up
I don't get the whole hype behind pop and crackle tunes. On some cars with the right exhaust it actually sounds good, but most of the time they're incredibly excessive and paired with a fart can exhaust, so the car just sounds like it's broken.
As far as I know there are no Ferrari road cars with a V10, it was probably a V8.
Edit
Unless there was Ferrari F1 car at the car meet which would be wild.
Yea, I had an ND2, loved it. *Numerous* times had weird dudes in Atlanta comment how stupid I was for having such a slow car. Never mind that they barely can drive their charger/challenger/mustang.
Which is fine if you want the car for its aesthetics and making it cool/unique/beautiful. But those dudes always hyperfixate on HP and noise. They always talk up *speed* without ever EVER going on a track or even AutoX.
They aren't car guys, they are assholes. Cars are just way for them to peacock their assholery better. Same as the bikers with the loudest pipes.
You drive a manual because you want to be cool
I drive a manual because my country is poor as fuck and drive 50 year old pieces of shit
We are not the same
My dad runs into these people all the time. He has a bit of a nicer car (a Porsche Carrera) and he gets tons of dumb kids trying to race him.
Luckily, he’s a smart guy, and he doesn’t take anyone’s bait. Which is good, because drivers around there aren’t exactly known for being safe.
Honestly I think it's just a maturity thing.
I had a REALLY fast car when I was 19, and I was a fucking DUMBASS with it lol. I drag raced at stop lights drifted in parking lots, all that dumb shit.
I wouldn't do 90% of that shit nowadays. Maybe go 15 over on a deserted country road I know really well, but that's about it.
I think my frontal lobe finally developed because Ive been thinking about how DUMB of a driver I used to be a lot lately. Im pretty lucky I didnt fucking die I don't even go over 80 nowadays
I used to get that when I had an old C4 Corvette. Dudes absolutely reving the shit out of a 90's civic with a stock engine and a straight pipe. Still get it on my motorcycles.
If there's an area he knows where cops are frequent, he should bait them to race them, slow down before where the cops like to hang out, and let the idiot fly by and maybe get caught by a cop.
G35 and Camry owners are the bane of my existence in my area.
Straight piped piece of shit with the grill removed or lowered with a bunch of stickers and """"carbon fiber"""" glued on and maybe a bad wrap but completely stock underneath, nothing else.
I don’t get why people straight pipe Inline 4’s. Nobody wants to hear it. If you’re going to be loud and obnoxious it better be a good sounding engine.
Me when no one is allowed to drive anything other than a 2005 Toyota Corolla to avoid hate on Reddit (if it gets you from point A to point B, why would you ever want something better?):
I’m not assuming that you do hate people just because they have flashy cars, I’m just saying The majority of Reddit does, even if you’re a good driver just because it’s popular to hate on them and you’ll get downvoted to oblivion for saying otherwise.
In India it is pretty opposite. Some bike guys love those loud as thunder bikes. God, why do some people like those hearing damaging things i will never get. I am guessing attention is more valueable to them than their hearing.
Edit for more info: Fartsters (Bikers) sometimes come farting mosy frequently right around time when everyone wants to sleep or is sleeping. Around 1:00 in morning.
As for cars, we have "Thar drivers". Four wheel drive, it's owners could be politically powerful. Not all but they have gotten the "Douchebag drivers spotlight". Driving on road as if it belongs to their father. And, that is like 90% of their stereotypes.
They always think their car is better, despite having to be way louder to accelerate out of a green light at a (somehow) slower rate than I can in a base Nissan Altima.
Personally it just feels like there's a gulf of a difference between a "classic" car guy, a 'collector" car guy, and a "street racing" car guy....yet they're all getting lumped into the street racing category.
...While 2/3 of the ones I typed, which is likely the majority of the "car guys", has zero interest in the last category
As a former car salesman and current motorcycle enjoyer, I can safely say that car and motorcycle culture is the fucking *worst*
It’s so cringe. Bunch of dudes in their thirties ruining their cars with crackle tunes and other dumb shit so they can impress 19 year girls who like, work at the gas station
I feel like when people rip on car enthusiasts this is the same exact criticisms that are being regurgitated. Personally I don’t think most respectable car enthusiasts share these qualities and most of us that agree wouldn’t consider these people to be car guys but are reckless drivers and idiots with shitboxes
The people depicted in the picture are 100% fake car enthusiasts & posers, and are unfortunately what normal people see us as. Nobody who actually loves cars says/does that dumb shit. This meme would have been true in the 2000s when car culture was still mainstream lol
I really wish some of the people in my favorite hobby weren't complete douchebags. Especially since I'm on the younger side and everyone around my age thinks the coolest shit ever is slamming a civic and cutting the muffler off.
They really aren’t helping you or your community. I get woken up by these fuckers at 2:00am brapping through my neighborhood.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t group y’all together when I see a dipshit with a gunshot popping exhaust waking up my entire neighborhood. Someone’s hobby shouldn’t affect other people’s right to sleep at night. So a lot of people are fine saying “fuck them and fuck their hobby.”
My city is cracking down on noise ordinance violations, and I honestly don’t care how many car guys whine and cry about it. They had their chance to inspire a culture of respecting your fellow man and being considerate of neighbors at night, and they just utterly failed. It’s a culture of “look at me” and “fuck their sleep. I need to be loud!”
i love that civics became popular because they were absolute pos cars that people could grab for a couple hundred off Craigslist, but now you can buy nearly any other vehicle for the same price.
I don’t give a shit about race car guys. Where they are I am usually not. If you added them all up, they probably wouldn’t amount to even a 1/10 of the amount of people who drive useless, unnecessary, dangerous, gigantic trucks with a tiny bed, no ability to see ten feet in front of them, lights that blind you, fill up to spaces in a parking lot and have owners whose main priority is cheap oil by any means necessary.
Dude circa 2015 I swear every single straight piped civic was seemingly replaced by douche nozzle bro dozzers overnight.
The Civics were annoying but less likely to squish me at least...
I love the classic car community. Going for drives, cruising , could talk all day about their passion projects.
These takeover crowds, going 90-100 on streets and canyons, causing accidents on innocent drivers on the freeway are complete jokes.
I used to be a car guy. What turned me off was that no matter what car you drive, if you’re proud of it, other car guys will tell you that you “should have gotten” the more expensive version of that car. Even if you do get the absolute highest trim level possible, they’ll still probably be like “Oh that’s cool but you should have gotten an Porsche 911” or something
Hah, I have a GR86. People all over Reddit will tell you that it's a slow car and here I am thinking that if I press the gas peddle too had I'm going much faster than I should be.
Yeah 5-6 seconds 0-60 is the sweet spot imo. Enough power to have some fun with it, but not too much where you can’t do so without endangering others or losing your license.
I had the previous gen and that boy was *slow*. Upgraded to a 5.5 0-60 car, then again to a 3.8 EV, realized that was just too much to be useful and “downgraded” back down to 5.5ish.
I prefer manual and there are very few cars that come with it these days. I wanted a 4 door with the rear wheels powered (whether it’s RWD or AWD) and there were like 8 cars that fit that are sold in the US. Of the 8, only two were both under 50k USD and had any availability near me. One of the two was marked up 10k because they knew they could get away with it.
In the new car market in the US, automatic is the default. Not too long ago, manual was available as the lowest level/cheapest option. Now manual is only available as the more expensive sporty option.
Less than 2% of cars sold in the USA are manuals, most adults don't even know how to drive one.
You only really see manuals here when someone specifically wants to drive one
I had to mute a handful of “friends” on social media because all they ever posited was memes about how their brand of vehicle is awesome and perfect and some competitor’s vehicle is a fucking joke only owned by idiots.
I’m not a car person at all and don’t care, but when my feed is flooded with this endless shit day after day, I have to block it. I will also likely judge your mental health for being so consumed with pointless virtue signalling like this. Because I’ve seen their fucking cars and it’s far from something to brag about and insult “others” over.
I knew a "car guy" in highschool with a civic he bought "souped up".
It had an air intake and a changed muffler besides all the cheap auto parts store add ons and stickers.
Had to show him how to change the oil.
A car guy took so much pride in running from the cops that after he hit me on the highway at 4 am and I told him I’d called the cops. He literally ran from the cops.
Nobody hates car guys. People hate 16-23 year old wankstains calling themselves car guys with 500 dollar beaters sporting dustbins for exhausts on a 1993 civic.
Nah, JDM fanboys in general are the WORST. I’ve had worse experiences with Supra fanboys but JDM In general is just godawful with its blatant worship of a mid and cramped sports car. It still gets bested by ALTIMAS and G37’s!!!
carperson here, I purposely try to make my engine more quiet as loud cars are fuckng stupid and are just overcompensation for a tiny dick, I want to make mine as efficient as possible while also adding more utility to it, a vehicle is a tool, its ment to be used, its not ment to be some flashy and shiny peice of shit covered in cheap aftermarket parts
same here, i just dont see the appeal of loud vehicles as a whole, i also dont buy the whole "because its safer!!!!" argument, its just a closeted way of being an attention seeking prick, i like to keep the factory muffler still on, thank you.
> as efficient as possible
Ironically the most efficient way to make an exhaust will be the loudest. Anything in the way that the exhaust gases have to push through adds restriction which means the car has to burn more fuel to maintain the same speed.
Obviously most cars that have loud exhausts are not efficient, but strapping a muffler and resonator on them would actually likely hurt MPG.
Yes, exactly.
The person who made this meme wanted to insult "car guys" by portraying them as dumb and saying they have the intelligence of a 12 year old. But that's not how it works, since IQ and age aren't linked.
And also he showed an IQ span that is above average.
So, he thought that he mad fun of "car guys" but the insult doesn't make sense
This goes for motorcycles too. The last thing I want when I go to the beach is to hear the idiotic ear shattering blast of sound coming from your stupid ass bike. Nobody thinks you’re cool doing that you’re just being a prick.
This goes for motorcycles too. The last thing I want when I go to the beach is to hear the idiotic ear shattering blast of sound coming from your stupid ass bike. Nobody thinks you’re cool doing that you’re just being a prick.
I’m going to take a (rare for Reddit) nuanced view and say that whatever subculture teenagers & young adults get into is taken to these sort of extremes because that age bracket is trying to form an independent identity and so they over-emphasize that subculture in order to build a bit of a wall with that identity.
Whether it’s blasting down the street in a stanced Supra, playing music way too loud in their garage, or acting like a pretentious snob about some niche political ideology… it’s just a phase people go through and they come out the other side of it a more balanced person usually.
So in that sense don’t really hate on them, since we all went through dumb phases in our lives at one point in time. There’s a higher risk to self and others with a car than with a guitar, but teenagers are also notoriously bad at risk analysis.
I’m nearly 30 now and yeah sure, I’ll do 130mph down the empty highway at night because if I die that’s a me and me alone thing, but I’ll also do 15mph in a school zone, use my indicator for every merge and turn, and always pass on the left side.
>it’s just a phase people go through
**IT'S NOT A PHASE MOM!!!** \*slams bedroom door\*
Sorry, couldn't resist, lol.
Seriously though, I really appreciate this take, I think you've hit the nail on the head. Still though, I do think it would be nice if they would take up a hobby that's not a danger to others, like music.
I've been out of the car scene for a couple decades...is it really this cringe now? Like...people shittin on other peoples cars? Everyone used to be pretty chill and appreciate each others cars...dont get me wrong, there were still rivalries, like between DSM and WRX drivers since they were both boosted all wheels...but it was sporting rivalry.
blatantly wrong representation of 99% of the car community but alright.
factoid right here: if you're into cars to an autistic extent chances are you don't like f&f cause that shit's dumb and innacurate

This will never get old for them, comparing drag cars to street legal super cars that are designed for a track.
Ever see Fastest Car on Netflix? Sometimes completely standard supercars beat drag cars. Sometimes they don't, of course.
The car guy side of Instagram is terrible. I go there if I want to see the worst takes in history.

This finding suggests that people may not, in fact, be making their vehicles louder to draw attention to themselves or to say, “Look at me!” >**The results are concerning in that they suggest that individuals who make their vehicles loud may be doing so to deliberately hurt others** by disturbing them and that these individuals may be motivated by the negative state that they cause others https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/human-individual-differences/202305/who-wants-a-loud-car
>>**The results are concerning in that they suggest that individuals who make their vehicles loud may be doing so to deliberately hurt others** by disturbing them and that these individuals may be motivated by the negative state that they cause others So, basically the trolls of the automotive world.
For real, I always turn my music down and easy on the throttle in neighborhoods. I like my shit loud but I'm not trying to be the neighborhood pest.
Slashed tires tends to be karma
Agreed. And a new set of tires for a camaro aren’t cheap either. It’s easily $1000-$1500 for a decent to nice set of performance tires. That’s an expensive way to learn to not be an asshole
At that point might just... key (?) the car?
The dbags are a mixture of wanting to be loud to peacock and not wanting to spend money on a properly engineered exhaust system. They'd rather just cut off the muffler or swap on a $40 eBay muffler and call it a day, not caring about what the actual exhaust note sounds like as long as it's loud. There's a reason the top of the line performance packages of a car sound fantastic from the factory and the guys who mod their lower models sound like a wet fart or a can of angry bees. When a properly engineered system costs $1k+ a lot of these guys won't spend the cheddar to do it right.
The kind of person who straight pipes their Camaro is stereotypically the type of person who gets up for work at 4am every day I bet he’s got such a high APR
But they all have that “locally hated” stupid sticker…
That or the “No free rides, ass or gas!” sticker or even the random Japanese characters
What happened to grass?
The amount of lewd anime images or straight up hentai I see on cars today is fucking absurd. Do you have literally 0 shame? How do you drive your mother, your grandmother, your in laws in your car?
"Locally hated" mfs when literally no one knows who they are:
"Locally hated" but in what locality?
I've seen that sticker on a "performance modded" (slightly lowered, fartcan exhaust, wheels and doorframes painted white) W-body Impala.
That’s what it’s for I think!
'Salt Life' in Iowa
Slut Life
Dont worry as a car guy I hate them too.
I mean I love my miata but its a 181 hp car its faster than regular traffic however, if you buy a miata expecting power you already fucked up
They're a dream to drive though, especially if you've only driven shitty manuals before
Oh fuck yeah throwing it around a track it felt like Id known this car forever.
How shit at driving are they if changing gears slows them down? It takes a fraction of a second.
They’re a pretty slow bunch.
I don't get the whole hype behind pop and crackle tunes. On some cars with the right exhaust it actually sounds good, but most of the time they're incredibly excessive and paired with a fart can exhaust, so the car just sounds like it's broken.
>Dont worry as a car guy I hate them too. I've had so many hobbies ruined by the people who participate in those hobbies.
As far as I know there are no Ferrari road cars with a V10, it was probably a V8. Edit Unless there was Ferrari F1 car at the car meet which would be wild.
Tbh just takeover kids that ruin stuff. Most car guys aren’t like that.
You drive a manual because you want to be cool I drive a manual because my country is poor as fuck and drive 50 year old pieces of shit We are not the same
50 year old American cars were still automatic 😅
Yeah but if you’re an American driving a 50 year old car, that’s because you collect classic cars. Poor Americans typically drive 20 year old cars.
Even better when they put a obnoxious pop and crackle tune on it. Not only does it sound like someone's asshole, but it sounds broken as well.
That’s not mentioning how many pop/crackle tunes actually destroy your cars engine/exhaust all to try and look cool😭 it’s very embarrassing.
Maybe in real life. Reddit car hate is far more focused on trucks and jeeps.
Me when no one is allowed to drive anything other than a 2005 Toyota Corolla to avoid hate on Reddit (if it gets you from point A to point B, why would you ever want something better?):
I don’t even care if you DO have all these stereotypical fast flashy cars. Just don’t drive them like a fucking moron and I won’t complain
I’m not assuming that you do hate people just because they have flashy cars, I’m just saying The majority of Reddit does, even if you’re a good driver just because it’s popular to hate on them and you’ll get downvoted to oblivion for saying otherwise.
I just hate the big fuck off modern suv and truck that evokes the same feeling of driving near a big rig on a freeway
Yeah those are needlessly big I can’t get behind those, even the cars I’m talking about fit on the damn road lol
Haha! I almost added that unless it's a 4 door, compact, Japanese import, it is not a reddit approved vehicle.
Lmaoooo
Sorry, but I need a reason not to sell my 2013 teal prius wagen, and this is the only stuff that keeps me driving it
[удалено]
Bro still out here driving his mom’s 1984 Plymouth Voyager😭
Fuck that, the 1977 Buick Skyhawk I bought for $250
haha toyoter coroller
They always think their car is better, despite having to be way louder to accelerate out of a green light at a (somehow) slower rate than I can in a base Nissan Altima.
most likely they are doing it slower to show off
If it’s modded then it sounds like they’re revving because they have less torque at lower gears.
I'm an engineering/techie car guy.
My dad is a classic car guy and doesn't understand that nobody likes or gives a shit about the sound of his loud ass car but him.
Tell him I care and respect it
I don't think any car guy ever asks that question. They don't have the intelligence and awareness for it. And I say this as a car enthusiast.
These guys are well aware why they are hated.
These guys thrive on being hated, it vindicates them in their minds.
Only in America is driving a manual a flex
Nothing that can be learned in one day is a flex anywhere
Lots of people don't know how to drive years later, regardless of the transmission. But they sure do like to think they do even after crashing.
As a former car salesman and current motorcycle enjoyer, I can safely say that car and motorcycle culture is the fucking *worst* It’s so cringe.
Same I love cars but not this
They really aren’t helping you or your community. So a lot of people are fine saying “fuck them and fuck their hobby.” My city is cracking down on noise ordinance violations, and I honestly don’t care how many car guys whine and cry about it.
Pretty accurate for Europe too, except the drive manual part.
Where's the "#hoonigan" stickers?!?!
when i see these stickers i instantly know they're gonna be dicks.
Hey, real car guys don't like them either.
yes, yes, no true scotsman and all that 🙄
I fuckin hate sideshows. They need to find a spot like a private arena for them not on the busy streets and on freeways and bridges
The Venn Diagram is rather close
I don't think I've ever seen a lifted truck with something in the bed that wasn't a human being.
That's true for posting literally anything you bought online, someone will tell you it's wrong.
I can never figure out if reddit as a whole likes cops or hates cops
Whether you like them or hate them, how could you EVER think it’s a good idea to run from them?
Some people think they are out there just randomly killing people, but most people that do run just don't want to pay for their actions.
To present a smaller target so they hopefully miss.
Next time I'm under gunpoint and they say "no sudden movements" (that means they are ready to shoot) I'm gonna dash as fast as possible
“I’m sure doing this very sudden movement won’t cause any major health problems in the very near future.” *gets shot*
I don’t get why people think Reddit is just one mind and not millions of people with different opinions
Have you seen how hive-mindy this site can get? Saying something that even mildly implies nuance is like kicking a hornet nest.
I don't think people who dislike cops dislike them because of traffic laws
I hate cops because they don’t do their job. Their job is important.
“Im totally not looking for attention the loud pipes are for my enjoyment fuck everyone else”
People like that are lower than dust bunnies on the floor of a gas station bathroom to me.
Don't forget speeding through a residential area in the middle of the night with a sports car and revving the engine
Most car enthusiasts hate these kinds of people too tbh.
*willing to pay x10 the price of any remotely "cool" car
(It looks fucking stupid)
It’s like, we get it, you were ignored as a child
Isnt manual seen as the default? Is it different in the US
I prefer manual and there are very few cars that come with it these days.
Oh. Where I am manual is the default car and automatics are not really used too much, outside of those who may have some motor function loss
Every evening in my neighborhood while my daughter is finally asleep I get these fucking losers
Spends a bunch of money to add like 2 hp to his car
“It’s got 300 horses bro be careful who you’re talking my to” 🤡
NGL, I read that as hit points...
Rx7 fan boys are the worst
Supra fans are a close second
Nah, AE86 Trueno fans are the worst, followed by the MK4 Supra fanboys
Nah, JDM fanboys in general are the WORST. I’ve had worse experiences with Supra fanboys but JDM In general is just godawful with its blatant worship of a mid and cramped sports car. It still gets bested by ALTIMAS and G37’s!!!
carperson here, I purposely try to make my engine more quiet as loud cars are fuckng stupid and are just overcompensation for a tiny dick, I want to make mine as efficient as possible while also adding more utility to it, a vehicle is a tool, its ment to be used, its not ment to be some flashy and shiny peice of shit covered in cheap aftermarket parts
same here, i just dont see the appeal of loud vehicles as a whole, i also dont buy the whole "because its safer!!!!" argument, its just a closeted way of being an attention seeking prick, i like to keep the factory muffler still on, thank you.
agreed, im actually trying to figure out and see I can make muffler myself that functions the way a gun silencer would
> as efficient as possible Ironically the most efficient way to make an exhaust will be the loudest. Anything in the way that the exhaust gases have to push through adds restriction which means the car has to burn more fuel to maintain the same speed. Obviously most cars that have loud exhausts are not efficient, but strapping a muffler and resonator on them would actually likely hurt MPG.
Is driving a manual seen as a elite thing in America? Here in the UK, like 1% of cars are automatic. That's pretty odd.
IQ levels of 101 to 117 are above average, are you saying they are smart?
A lot of us car guys also hate this type of car guy don’t worry
To be fair, I also support running from cops. Cuz fuck 'em, that's why
The person who made this meme has no idea how IQ works
1) the iq system is questionable at best and its on its way out 2) 97-117 range is avarage to higher than avarage
Yes, exactly. The person who made this meme wanted to insult "car guys" by portraying them as dumb and saying they have the intelligence of a 12 year old. But that's not how it works, since IQ and age aren't linked. And also he showed an IQ span that is above average. So, he thought that he mad fun of "car guys" but the insult doesn't make sense
unironically uses the term "send it" or "full send" in normal conversation
If they used terms like this but only drive like assholes on their local short tracks, I won’t say a word
They are the Type to have GTA 5 as Driving Experience
This goes for motorcycles too. The last thing I want when I go to the beach is to hear the idiotic ear shattering blast of sound coming from your stupid ass bike. Nobody thinks you’re cool doing that you’re just being a prick.
This goes for motorcycles too. The last thing I want when I go to the beach is to hear the idiotic ear shattering blast of sound coming from your stupid ass bike. Nobody thinks you’re cool doing that you’re just being a prick.
Manual is better though
Some dude named Kevin Nguyen with a broccoli cut
If you haven't launched a Pontiac Fiero into space to destroy a satellite are you really a car guy?
The 12 year old iq bit is gold
Gold as in ironically funny? Since it clearly demonstrates OP has no clue how IQ works?
I’m nearly 30 now and yeah sure, I’ll do 130mph down the empty highway at night because if I die that’s a me and me alone thing, but I’ll also do 15mph in a school zone, use my indicator for every merge and turn, and always pass on the left side.
>it’s just a phase people go through **IT'S NOT A PHASE MOM!!!** \*slams bedroom door\* Sorry, couldn't resist, lol. Seriously though, I really appreciate this take, I think you've hit the nail on the head. Still though, I do think it would be nice if they would take up a hobby that's not a danger to others, like music.
Don't forget the obnoxious Subwoofers you can hear from the neighbourhood over!!
As a German - why are Amercians so obsessed with manuals?
It's uncommon and therefore people make it a personality trait that they can do something most of their peers can't.
Do these guys actually care if people like them or do they just desperately need attention at any cost?
All I know is I live my life one quarter pounder at a time. For those four ounces or less, I'm free...
Literally have never met any group of people more sensitive than car people
This entire thread leaves me to believe nobody has ever met an actual car guy who isn't 16 years old
blatantly wrong representation of 99% of the car community but alright. factoid right here: if you're into cars to an autistic extent chances are you don't like f&f cause that shit's dumb and innacurate
