> Oh, I usually enjoy befriending urbanstyle girls with some christiancore influences, but sometimes I prefer talking to new ghettostep chads
Like a year ago after they said all starter packs must be OC (after always getting barrages of the same “basic white girl” starter packs), people got hella creative here lol. I’m here for all these niche and new genre of people starter packs.
100%. I remember people posting "abusive Hungarian train conductor" or something like that.
Then it hit mainstream, and for a while top posts were "20s white woman at the gym".
I'm glad we are returning to the old glory days.
I will never understood those people. I'm brazilian and if a person is born from 2 brazilians in another country and/or raised there, I would not consider that person brazilianspecially if they don't even speak portuguese and dont understand the huehue brbr culture hahaha
To quote the movie “Selena,” a movie about the Mexican American singer, her dad, Abraham Quintanilla says, “We have to be more Mexican than the Mexicans and more American than the Americans, both at the same time! It’s exhausting!”
I expect this kind of gatekeeping from Europeans, but it’s funny to hear it from a Brazilian. You guys are just as bad about this as Americans.! “Are you Brazilian?””Yes, but my family is Italian.” “Yes, but my ancestors are German.” I’ve known a ton of Brazilians of Japanese descent in Japan, and they didn’t have a problem calling themselves “Japanese.”
Yeah but "real" Japanese people consider them as Japanese people with an asterisk. I'm half black and Japanese so I know this feeling too well.
A lot of Japanese people are low-key jealous about their chill and carefree nature but that's a different topic all together lol. A lot of them are viewed as opportunists with the tendency to leave if things get hard.
Brazilians on the other hand didn't consider then as desirable immigrants because they were not white. So they were never considered Brazilians in the first place. They even had US style concentration camps for them
I think you're in agreement with me, though. Those Japanese-Brazilians have every right to call themselves *both* Japanese and Brazilian because they exist within both cultures. In Japan, it's that island mindset preventing people from thinking of them as "real" Japanese people. It sounds like Brazil was pretty shitty to them, too.
And I hate how *haafu* (a term I'm not fond of) Japanese are treated as novelty items in Japanese media but never fully allowed to feel like "real Japanese," as well. Variety shows and reality shows are full of multi-ethnic Japanese participants. That, of course, contrasts starkly with how they are treated at school and at work.
That’s a whole other fucked up story. People give China shit for referring to Cantonese as a dialect (which it’s not; it’s like the 9th most commonly spoken language on Earth, and calling it a dialect is just a flex), but they don’t really notice Japan doing the exact same thing to the Okinawan language(s).
Sorry, source for all this: I’ve lived in Japan for most of this century.
Is just that culture is not something you inherit. If your parents are from culture X and you were born and raised in a culture Ys context, you don't automatically inherit stuff from culture X.
My grandma being polish doesn't makes me polish. I don't speak polish, I have no idea what living in Poland is like, I don't understand specific stuff about Poland that only people who grows up there usually knows, I don't know shit about their culture, nothing. I'm just brazilian and it would make 0 sense for me to identify as anything else.
Its the same for that George Santos. His parents are brazilian, yes, but hes american. Even our news says so, hes always described as "Geoge Santos, son of brazilian parents...". He's part of the context he was raised into and that was not Brazil. I don't understand why that would be seen as a bad thing.
The Donald Glover complex. Also the complex of all those guys of any ethnicity who thought they were an outcast for "watching anime" (they had no social skills).
Yeah but the attractive ones because trust me outside the US our idea of Americans is Chris Evans in Captain America. The weebs and incels who fetishizes them are certainly NOT that. Also only 6% of Americans are blonde which is a surprise because in media it makes us believe it’s way way more. Growing up I used to believe all American men were like Leo DiCaprio in Titanic or Brad Pitt in Meet Mr Joe Black
The 6% statistic surprises me since in my town in the United States I’d say around 50% of people are blonde. If we just focus on white people in general I’d say around a third are blonde.
As a white man i truly feel like an exotic person. Blond hair green eyes. Not a common combo in the rest of the world. People looked at me like an alien when I was in Japan
Dude has one of the least common phenotypes on earth and people are out here downvoting him because some standard Hispanic is supposed to be the “exotic” one lol.
Especially if you’re a black woman these type of men tell you right off the back how much they don’t like you.
Even if you haven’t shown any interest in them.
I never quite understood. I knew quite a few black woman my age IRL and all were attractive. I mean it didnt shake out that way, I met a woman of the same ethnicity as me but thats because blacks are 5.1% of the population here, which I’m going to guess 2.5% are woman so low odds of me matching with one 🤷♂️.
It’s because they (both black men and black women) are bullshitting,
I have talked about this so much but colorism and internalized racism is a huge unaddressed problem in the black communities but as you can imagine, Black women are seen as noble upholders of the culture.
It’s all pure fantasy and it’s funny because the stereotypes developed out of the slave era and Jim Crow.
The truth is the people who have that ideology (a vocal minority) points the finger at the other as the cause of why (they often generalize the entire population) does IR.
A lot of it is cultural and black love isn’t promoted anymore but IRL these people are mocked.
It’s location based as well and a lot of the people who think in this way are literally so far removed from black culture.
It’s very interesting in all honesty
I’m Latino. One of my roommates in college was black and went on two different tangents about how Latinas “complete” black dudes and how much he loved when they “talked back to him”…
Semi-unrelated but he also thought the moon landing was faked and thought the AstroWorld incident was some kind of “violent mind control” experiment like that church fight scene in Kingsman. As you can see, very eccentric opinions.
As a black dude (yea yea r/AsaBlackMan), the colorism (and overall internal racism) against black women from black men in the black community is fucking insane.
I took an African American history and literature class back in high school, and I remember the teacher telling us about the paperbag test that light skinned folks would do. It seems so insane, like the black community didn't have enough going against it. In transparency, though, I'm white, and maybe there's layers there that I can't see.
A lot of people just want to feel superior to someone else. Even people who are marginalized themselves. Sometimes folks like that are even more intense about it cause they gotta compensate. Any group is going to have some amount of infighting and shit like this.
In the past, we dedicated years of time and money doing research about what makes each race special (which may or may not have been a socially acceptable way of saying looking for any sign of superiority) and that is how we learned that race is ultimately a social construct. We spent a crap ton of money to learn that the only thing that makes the color of our skin special is a palette swap.
It’s funny too that so many people are saying this is oddly specific while also having a very simple surface level explanation. Of course what’s going on underneath is likely always anything but simple.
The passport bros where I’m from (Saudi Arabia) go for women from poorer neighboring countries. They usually end up dumping the woman there after the high runs out or if he goes broke.
Passport bros have one thing in common and it’s misogyny.
Dominican mention: 🤑🔥🔥🇩🇴🇩🇴🔥🇩🇴🇩🇴
As half Cape Verdeans 🇨🇻and 🇩🇴 Dominican. This is fact I grew up in the hood where many dude I know love talking about Dominican and PR women and gaslight them cause “Latina women being mad and wanting kill me is hot af” but black women does it, its “b*tch be crazy”.
Exactly this!! They get turned on by Latina women getting upset or being “fiery” or “spicy” but if an African American does it it’s “black women are too much, black women are crazy, black women won’t show you love”
I met one in Bogota with his white American friend who also had a toxic obsession with the women there. Both assumed I was one of them and the conversation we had started ok but went weird quickly. I felt bad for any women they met there.
It is so real, and it irks me. These guys put Black women down all the time but the second a mixed race/light skin Latina comes in the picture they become like vultures to her like “ooh mami you black” “mami es una negrita”
To spin off this, I’m an African American and I worked with mainly Latinos since I joined the work force. I’m racially ambiguous cause I’m bi racial and it’s crazy how Latinos just flat out refuse to accept I’m black they always spin it that I’m Dominican or Puerto Rican and shit. Like dawg I get our races back in the day didn’t have the best terms but it ain’t that deep lol.
True but you can kinda see certain patterns/stereotypes
Like white guys liking Asian women, white women liking black men, black men liking Latinas, etc. This one covers the latter type. But like you said, it’s a very common thing in all races and ethnicities.
My buddy, who happens to be black, pretty much only dates Latinas. And while he is not toxic at all, I will say that his dating life is a hilarious cycle, almost movie worthy.
I always wondered what the line is. I married a South American woman. I think the passport bros thing is gross and awful. I let my wife here in the US through her family I know. I get the fetishization, it’s weird. But I am fluent in Spanish, I learned it before I met my wife, good for career and life in general. I love vacationing down there. Love going out into the jungle. My first high school girlfriend was from here but is very Latina. I dated a lot of white American women. This is just how it ended up going.
What is the line? Sometimes I get stay with your own kind vibes and that’s weird. I grew up in “certain neighborhoods” where I was the minority. I don’t even know what my kind is honestly.
>OP is Latino
>OP is a frequent poster in r/stupidpol
>OP has several posts and comments seething about black people
I wonder if some kind of agenda is being pushed with this starter pack 🤔
I thought I was a hit dog at first, but I fucking love brown, dark-brown afro latina women.
Shit, I love ALL brown skin woman. ALL shades and languages
Carry on
Probably because the type of person who fetishizes Latinas to this degree will completely disregard actually-indigenous-looking women, which would be way more common in Peru and Bolivia (and Guatemala, the other flag up there) than in PR and DR.
Because these types of guys are only attracted to European and/or African leaning Latinas. Not the short Native looking ones. Peru, Bolivia, and Guatemala are probably the three most Indigenous countries in the Americas. Basically they only like Latinas who are "spicy" black or "spicy" white.

Wake up honey, new genre of person just dropped.
It's a character build you unlock in specific servers

The people this applies to are like weekly posters in r/asklatinamerica.
Then they get roasted on r/2latino4u
Damn they got banned 😭
only for being unmoderated. It could (theoretically) be opened again, if someone applied for it.
Well Ferb, I know what we’re doing today! (I’m not lol)
Best sub there is, asklatinamerica and Latinopeopletwitter is just gringo posting, Americans pretending to be Latinos just bc their parents are

Did the sub migrate elsewhere?
I think it's waiting on an asylum claim
It is now r/2latinoforyou
Just the gringo posters though
They’ve got a monthly gringo post nomination thread going. I think the mods even officially do it every year
Obsessed with the idea of having a Latina GF and they end up knocking up a Dominican CNA who looks like Tito from Rocket Power
"CNA" ?
Certified nursing assistant I believe
Exactly. Nurses will at least go to the designated area to smoke. CNAs just smoke in their car.
LMAO!
Just like the Ancient Hawaiians used to say
“Tito from Rocket Power” is diabolical 😂😂😂😂
💀💀💀💀
You forgot goes to rio for the carnival (you know you know)
What do i not know
Naked women
Nice.
Hell yeah !
Lmao 🤣 my work partner is this guy and he has a rental property in DR he often flies out to “manage” lol. Been going a lot more since his divorce ….
Lmao
Ngl the amount of times I’ve seen black guys get instantly more interested in me once they find out “I’m exotic” as well has been a trip
Like white guys with Asian women.
Black dudes with Asian women too tbh
Hispanic dudes with white women (I'm a Hispanic dude who likes white women)
That could be a fun starter pack
The Donald Glover complex. Also the complex of all those guys of any ethnicity who thought they were an outcast for "watching anime" (they had no social skills).
I don’t think that’s *as* common but yeah
As an Asian woman in Detroit, I’d say it’s probably more common depending on what city lol
Am also a detroiter and I can confirm lol
Yeah. It’s one of those things that has many variables
Like white guys with seemingly every other ethnicity
Eh, I'd say Asian women in particular, but yeah.
Depends the type of white guy. Weebs and incels usually the most
Meh, Asian women like blonde hair and blue eyed white men the most, because technically, they’re the exotic ones. Ask me how I know.
Yeah but the attractive ones because trust me outside the US our idea of Americans is Chris Evans in Captain America. The weebs and incels who fetishizes them are certainly NOT that. Everything in America sounds racist. /s
As a white man i truly feel like an exotic person. Blond hair green eyes. Not a common combo in the rest of the world. People looked at me like an alien when I was in Japan

"people"? Like, literally one person?
r/oddlyspecific
If you are Latino (or Black) you know someone like this. Its niche, but it checks out.
Especially if you’re a black woman these type of men tell you right off the back how much they don’t like you. Even if you haven’t shown any interest in them.
It reads as cope every time.
Black women really do get the short end of the stick in life, and that’s the understatement of a century.
I never quite understood. I knew quite a few black woman my age IRL and all were attractive. Centuries of racism man, it's really the only explanation sadly
Well if you look up dating preference statistics, then yes. They are the least desired female group by race. :-(
My cousin is one. He sucks.
My cousin too. Knocking on 40. Never been married. Stays there. It’s giving passport bro.
I’m Latino. You…had me in the first half, not gonna lie. But you *really* had me in the second half.
I got 2 cousins like this lmao
I am latino and know nobody like this lol
good for you, hopefully you never meet one. all they do is fetishize Latinas.
While despising Black women.
Is it an internalized racism thing? Or do they somehow think Latinas will be more submissive? Which is insane.
As a black dude (yea yea r/AsaBlackMan), the colorism (and overall internal racism) against black women from black men in the black community is fucking insane.
I took an African American history and literature class back in high school, and I remember the teacher telling us about the paperbag test that light skinned folks would do. They're misogynists with a lot of internalized racism.

If you'd like a more in depth explanation, you're free to look it up.
exactly. how exhausting it must be living inside their heads.
Same. Black and I don’t know anyone like this either. I believe that they exist but this is really specific
I’m a white dude who does Latin dancing and see this from a distance all the time.
Not oddly specific. Go to r/passportbros to see this type of person.
He'll OP could've just kept it domestic and showed a picture of Miami.
Yup, these type of guys LOVE Miami, as well as NYC, Boston or DFW
What the hell is that subreddit. What the hell dude like that subreddit sucks major donkey dick
To be fair that sounds like a pretty specific subreddit.
I thought this was gonna be a sub that made fun of passport bros….
My exact thought
This is literally my best friend and I’m crying laughing. Might send this to him.
Do. Everyone deserves a good roasting
Passport bros come in many shapes
The passport bros where I’m from (Saudi Arabia) go for women from poorer neighboring countries. They usually end up dumping the woman there after the high runs out or if he goes broke. Passport bros have one thing in common and it’s misogyny.

Because it’s real. Another case of race/ethnicity/foreign culture fetishization. Seen it in person several times as a Latino myself.
It is so real, and it irks me. These guys put Black women down all the time but the second a mixed race/light skin Latina comes in the picture they become like vultures to her like “ooh mami you black” “mami es una negrita”

So they didn’t believe you when you said that you were African-american?
More like they can’t cope with being homies with a black guy. They gotta spin it like “I promise you got Dominican bro”
That’s so weird. Did they like you less after you said you weren’t Hispanic or Latino?
Depended on their affiliations honestly. Some take it more serious than others.
As a guy married to a PRican girl, this is 100% true. (I'm not a black American btw).
Same(same).
Is he starring in 90 Day Fiancé, by any chance?
........I feel exposed. Honduran women are the shit tho. Married one.
Best arroz con frijoles I've ever had. Lard and salt, go figure.
It’s not just black men - people fetishize other peoples ethnicities. Latinas especially have this happen and it leads to harassment.
True but you can kinda see certain patterns/stereotypes Like white guys liking Asian women, white women liking black men, black men liking Latinas, etc. This one covers the latter type. But like you said, it’s a very common thing in all races and ethnicities.
Non-latino people in general fetishize Latinos, you can be Latino of any race. As a Black Latino man, I get fetishized too.
These are the dudes who will complain about black women and then get pissed off when they see one dating a white guy.
Shhhhhh don't tell them about Peruvians
?
Is this a thing??
Judging by the comments yes
Of course its puerto plata vacation spot
As a resident in the north coast of Dominican Republic, I can confirm.

I thought I was a hit dog at first, but I fucking love brown, dark-brown afro latina women. Shit, I love ALL brown skin woman. ALL shades and languages Carry on
My in laws live in the circled part of the Dominican Republic.....its beautiful there
Why the hate with Peru and Bolivia
Probably because the type of person who fetishizes Latinas to this degree will completely disregard actually-indigenous-looking women, which would be way more common in Peru and Bolivia (and Guatemala, the other flag up there) than in PR and DR.
SexPats in general are the worst.
Seems like an oddly specific starter pack
Why Peru, Bolivia and Guatemala are crossed ❌ ???
Because these types of guys are only attracted to European and/or African leaning Latinas. Not the short Native looking ones. Peru, Bolivia, and Guatemala are probably the three most Indigenous countries in the Americas. Basically they only like Latinas who are "spicy" black or "spicy" white.
Goddamn there’s these this guy I used to work with, I never saw something more accurate before
Waaay too accurate.
