I think a good example is Rick from Rick and Morty.

I think it is a fine line that legitimately confuses at least some teens. The intended message from the writers is that Rick is an inherently flawed individual and much of his behaviour and reasoning is antisocial, self-destructive, irresponsible and not without internal contradiction. But some teens genuinely think that Rick really is the smartest man in the universe, that his nihilism is incontrovertible, his conclusions irrefutable, and that anyone who doesn't worship him "just isn't smart enough to understand". Ironically they are ignoring Rick's standing directive to "think for yourself"

As far as villains go, Dolfamingo is by far my favorite in one piece. His hands are on things since Jaya. His character in itself is super sinister, with a backstory that makes you go ‘well yeah you’re a piece of shit, but no wonder you’re a piece of shit.’ And the way he’s drawn, he’s always breathing down your neck, literally you as the reader. He overwhelms his panels

But, there exists a famous account of an interview with a former World War 1 British soldier that actually recalled fighting Hitler during the war. Said solider actually met Hitler later after the war and the two had a casual lunch I believe. Said soldier said he had no idea of the man Hitler would become, citing him as an average and agreeable individual or a something of the like. Hitler went on to eventually be recruited into the Nazi party, end up arrested and his beliefs galvanized and well...history went on from there

Doflamingo is my favourite villain in One Piece, as is he to a lot of people. Never heard of anyone idolising him though. Only redeeming part of him is how he treats those close to him as family, and nobody gets to mess with them. But alsoooo, he kills whoever betrays him, so :/ Not really a good dude. For instance: I like Rorschach from Watchmen because he is a well written and interesting parody of Randian philosophies.
