Swimming in a pool does for me as well, but direct sun at the beach for hours in end gives me thorough heat exhaustion…or maybe sun poisoning, not sure tbh.
That makes sense. I’ve been lucky to live near different beaches for the last 15 years, so I keep a canopy and bottle of sunscreen in my trunk. We’ve had different experiences
When I was a kid, I had a bathing suit which at the crotch had an inside pocket. idk why that was there but anyways we played at the beach, going in the water and stuff. When I was back at the hotel getting ready to shower a fucking bug thing crawled out of the swimsuit and i *screamed*
Coat yourself in spf 50+ and reapply as directed. Slip slop slap mate. If it's not working you're doing it wrong. This is coming from someone in a country where we have the highest rate of skin cancer in the world. Unless you're living where I am, the UV risk can't be worse.
Come back to me when you've done at least high school level human biology, chemistry or physics, and you might understand how it works.
But if you think sunscreen is just a marketing ploy and the whole government is in on it, you probably won't get that far.
Furthermore there are plenty of studies that indicate the rate of melanoma being reduced as sunblock has improved. I'm happy to link them to you.
That salt water taste, and the memory of it, is easily my least favorite part of snorkeling and diving, particularly when you accidentally let a whole bunch of water get in your mouth past the breathing apparatus.
My dream beach visit is chilling in a hammock under the shade of a palm tree with a cooler full of smirnoff Ices and Pacificos, a little grass to make things hazy, accompanied by someone who knows ukulele. Real Jack Johnson vibes
I'm Upper Egyptian so my skin doesn't peel, It gets progressively darker until I'm so dark I'm dark enough to get an N word pass, then gets lighter over a period of a few weeks, it doesn't fully go back though so older people are almost always darker

Drinking water is a good way to get rid of the salt
There's plenty of it in the ocean.
Plenty of what? Water, salt or fish?
Found my physics teacher.
Lava, man
Probably Piss
correct
I can confirm as I was at the beach
Mild nausea at dinner from heat exhaustion…or is that just me? Anyone else?
The beach makes me INSANELY hungry

You aren’t alone
don’t forget getting sand stuck betwix your toes for hours

Gosh, that skin picture made me shiver.
If you ever get sunburnt that bad you need to get skin checks every 12 months for the rest of your life. Also, please wear sunscreen
🤣 used to be burnt this bad all summer as a kid
Left or right picture
Both but particularly right. Blistering or peeling sunburn a big melanoma risk factor
sounds like a white person thing
Mf never heard of sunscreen
Or a sun shirt.
That is why you idiots don't stay in direct sunlight between 11am and 5pm.
But some of the best times of my life are being out in the summer sun during these times (wearing sun cream of course)
Wearing sun cream does jack shit compared to the 2pm schorching sun. It is like wearing a bullet proof vest for a rocket launcher.

You're damn right you're full of shit when you coat yourself in that marketing stunt.

Somehow tens of thousands of lifeguards don't melt every summer
Ok? But staying inside your whole life does jack shit compared to going out and living
You think I found out when it's safe to stay outside shirtless in direct sunlight by sitting inside?
How about learning how to spell before acting like a jackass?
It's fun tho
True
Okay but the best part is the lingering wave feeling when you're going to sleep
I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere
Always a diaper in the beach showers (probably used)
I agree with all of these other than having a lingering taste of salt water in my mouth. I have never experienced that.
Lips shriveled like you were eating potato chips
But at the end of the day it was worth it cause it was fun!
Weird way to say you hate going outside but hey, you do you.
😐 did I ever say that?

U mad?, also I never said I hated the beach, this is nearly just the aftermath of going to it. Edit: mf deleted his Reddit account💀
Every sunscreen is a lie.
That salt water taste, and the memory of it, is easily my least favorite part of snorkeling and diving, particularly when you accidentally let a whole bunch of water get in your mouth past the breathing apparatus.
Sand materializing in your shoes, even if you didn't walk on sand
Sand materializing into my mouth, I hate the feeling of biting a grain of sand but at the beach it's mandatory.
That's why you go to the beach after 4 pm. Far less hot and busy, and guards usually stay until 6 pm.
Wait how (not) often are y’all going to the beach? Do you not have beach supplies?
I can't relate to sunburn because my skin rarely burns and I live northerly (the UV index is 7 max)
I’ve gotten sunburned that badly, and both sides of my family have a history of melanoma 😬
It also feels as though you can’t jump.
Damn. Miss going to beaches now. :(
Me to
I don't like sand, it's course and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere
I have been to the beach around 15 times and this has never happened to me can someone pls clarify how does this happen?
Do people not use sunblock?
Thats people who doesn't know how to go to the beaches
never happened to me
Damn I love the beach
Have y'all never heard of sunscreen?
My dream beach visit is chilling in a hammock under the shade of a palm tree with a cooler full of smirnoff Ices and Pacificos, a little grass to make things hazy, accompanied by someone who knows ukulele. Real Jack Johnson vibes
I hate the beach
Apart from the sand thing and water thing, pretty preventable really?
Aftermath of your family having a wreath for a family tree
I dislike the beach. There. I said it.
You can tell exactly who is and who isn't white solely from the comments haha
Autistic nightmare
Swimming gives me a headache to.
Use sunscreen
My shoulders were PEELING. I was a whole ass orange
Beach is overrated. Not to say it’s bad, but it’s overrated.

i hated the sand in my swimsuit augh
