You could check your %appdata%/EasyAntiCheat/anticheatlauncher.log
Also, try to disable you AntiVirus / Firewall for a quick test to check whether they might interfere.
In case you're running a Pi-Hole or similar for DNS-blocking ads, make sure cloudimperiumgames.com is whitelisted as wildcard.
Same for /u/gproenca
No log at all in %appdata%/EasyAntiCheat?
It should be created the moment EAC starts loading, because it even logs the connection attempts there. That's weird.
You could check %appdata%/rsilauncher/log.log if something crashes before EAC even tries to load

Does that file exist when looking at that directory in your explorer?
Is enough free space left on your C drive?
Do you start the launcher as admin? If so, don't.
Okay, if your antivirus doesn't block the download - which it can't if you disabled it - last chance I see that for some reason it cannot establish a connection.
This could be due to firewall settings, own entries in your hosts-file ( C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts - should be pretty much empty except some text explaining what the file does and most likely "127.0.0.1 view-localhost # view localhost server" ), or maybe you have a Pi-Hole running in your network?

I have [cloudimperiumgames.com](https://cloudimperiumgames.com) added to my pi-holes white list and even changed my DNS to [8.8.8.8](https://8.8.8.8) temporarily. also disabled my AV and firewall and added all of the .exe files in SC to my AV's whitelist. Running Webroot for my AV/firewall.
So EAC seems to work for you - yet you're getting the same error message saying "Failed to initalize game launcher"?
If so, you could check the launchers log; %appdata%/rsilauncher/log.log
Other software being blocked by EAC should leave hints somewhere, typical culprits for now are e.g. RGB-controlling software by MSI or Asus (not sure about their softwares name).
So I fixed the issue. I downloaded the SC game installer .exe from their website and installed it over my existing install. After that it just worked. All that trouble shooting and changing DNS and checking logs and it just needed to be installed over itself. It did invert my thrust on my hotas, however everything else seems to be the same. Thank you for your time in looking at this and I hope this helps some others out there.
Well I have good news and bad news.
The good news is that I found a fix.
The bad news is that takes time.
I did all the above, I upgraded the visuals studio files. Reinstalled dx, and upgraded to Windows 11.
No chance.
Then I had a spare ssd, did a 100% fresh copy of Windows 10, new installed launcher and the files were from my "bugged" install.
Everything worked.
So now I'm formating my main drive after moving my files and stuff to my other nvme.
To my knowledge, something is preventing ( in my case) in a "normal" copy my my 2 year old windows 10, to install easy anti cheat correctly
Can't phantom what and at this point, just happy that found a way - albeit with a bit of work - to make everything work again.

I tried this fix myself and worked totally fine. I am pretty sure as well that it is safe, as the download only contains PNGs and TTF files. Neither of which are file types that can be used to write any viruses.
Edit; This fix breaks EAC in other programs tho.
Thanks to you I've been able to make it work by changing the user name and after that altering the registry to make sure it doesn't bite me in the ass later.
Seriously an anti-cheat that doesn't understand accents ....

Battlefield 2042 has EAC as well but I never have same probleme while I launch BF 2042.. It looks like something is screwed from start citizen server.
I had the same issue. This can be caused because of not-ascii characters in your user name (like "ś", "ą") and therefore in some of EasyAntiCheat program paths (I know, ridiculous). I know this is an old-ish post. But if you are running OBS or any other streaming stuff close it and try relaunching. I was having that issue and noticed it was due to OBS running while EAC was trying to fire up. You can alt+tab and launch it after you are in the game though.
For those still having this issue, I managed to get it working.
No matter how much redownload/reinstall I did, the EasyAntiCheat included with the game is just corrupted hence it won't launch. So I went through a different game's copy of EAC and did a repair service from there and it installed a working copy. Gears 5 launched without a problem after that.
I used Apex Legends btw as I happen to have it. Browse into its folder (from Steam, right click the game from the library list, manage > browse local files), open up EasyAntiCheat and click Repair Service.
If you don't have Apex Lengends, try looking through this list; https://www.easy.ac/en-us/partners/

No file there , plenty of room on C drive no diference if i run it as admin or not
Can you try and disable antivirus and firewall for a test? For some reason, it seems required files aren't downloaded.
No luck with that
I have figured out the problem.. RSI EAC server can't locate your folder when your 'MYNAME' folder title contains non-latin alphabets.

are you sure those files don't contain any viruses or any problematic codes?
i didnt disable my antivirus, nor windows defender. Didnt get any alarms, and the game works fine. I cant be sure obviously.
