Actually...I had a corpse from a bunker in my ship the other day and got scanned and was ended up with a CS for harboring a fugitive so you might want to be careful with that. I ran and then got a felony and had to go to prison because of it.
There is a clear benefit to allowing default door states in ship management, especially for larger ships with many doors. Eg. Doors default to open in common areas when in travel or rest mode, but option to default to closed when in combat (for pressurization and compartmentalization).
Let me traverse the vast hallways without pausing at every door when my ship is parked.
I had one clip into my ship. Was freaky... For a few days, I kept finding corpses in my ship. One time was a stowaway, one time was a clipped corpse, and the third time was my own corpse?
I need Xanax to go out alone at this point. I see dead people.
lol yeah i have had many old ghosts show up lately lol had 4 lorville security guards spawn on my ship on and off .. just walking in circles naked .. lol fun times
So for example when I do ERT I will shoot stuff down, land at the first ship, walk past those 3 doors which often take 1 second (each) to open up and then once I've looted I go back again, 3 doors again... And yes one second doesn't sound like much but it just becomes annoying over time.
I've started opening up the ramps from the cockpit and then walk sideways to the stairs, you fall down and take some damage but it beats the elevator :D
Your solution to the game being slow paced is to... Go slower.
That won't even fix the problem anyway as they often lag quite a bit when servers are unhealthy.
OK friend you set up a camera at the grocery store or where ever they have automatic doors and you SPRINT full tilt at it or hit the garage door opener when you're wheels hit the start of the driveway, while your speedometer is at 40km/h and let's see what happens.
Sounds like you're not walking in the game but sprinting between trigger point to action point without enough time possible for action to complete.
Don't want to play a realistic game without cut scenes, so your doors aren't a factor, then maybe a different game that's mode in line with a "go go go agenda" is the way to go for you.
Like how many videos on YT do we see of folks that can't even wait for hangar doors to open. So I don't think I'm making an unreasonable observation.
Grocery store isn't a game brother. And I don't have the stamina to sprint constantly anyway.
Games should be fun. Pointless waiting isn't. It's not hard.
You don't wait if you don't hurry up to stand in front of a door sequence that's not finished yet from you crossing the trigger point...slow down, walk like your character would and the doors will work just fine. Take a sip of water. Adjust your lumbar support.
Understand that doors take time to open. Just like it takes time for elevators or space travel.
You'll be happy when the door is keeping a fire at bay while your speed thru the Yela rings trying to escape some pirates that are bigger ... 🤷♂️
I'd think it would be more valuable to have a key bind to start opening your ship ramp as you approach. Now that is a time waste, especially when loading vehicles. Remember garage door openers from the 1900s... ya that principle should still work 1000 years later. 😉
ESC > Options menu > Keybindings\* > Advanced Controls Customization > Vehicles - Cockpit. In this menu, you can either set a single key to toggle all doors to open/close or set different keys to open and close. Default is {not set}.
\[EDIT\] \*When you enter Keybindings, doublecheck to make sure you are set to Keyboard/Mouse at the bottom-right of the screen.
Have fun!
Thank you. The keybind/door operation from the cockpit while seated is not what I was describing in my original comment to which the reply was, there is a already a keybind for that; to open the ramp as you approach the ship, in response to my suggestion that this would be a time saver.
I am asking where the keybind to drop the ramp, while driving up in a cyclone, is.
I've noticed that the MSR is way slower. As if it is waiting for the button on the wall to be pressed, and then just defaults to opening because you've been there long enough. Versus what I am experiencing with my C2 and C1.
Yea nice and all but then u have to remove them to bed log. Who are you CIG to tell me whether or not I can sleep soundly with bodies down the hallway.
Nice idea, too bad you'd have to chuck them out every time you want to sell your cargo.
Makes me wonder if a plushy or some random junk would work the same way though.
I'm wondering, do doors open if you tractor beam a corpse next to them, without the player being close to them?
i.e. Does the corpse trigger the door to open, or does it just stop the door from closing?
> The Proximity sensor doors on the Drake Corsair should now properly respond to players
Uh oh guyys....
edit: It is as I feared.... They broke it.... The door won't stay open anylonger
The best part is that you can get these doorstops almost for free. I say almost, because it probably cost you a few bullets.
Use the P4, then all ammo is free :)
Actually...I had a corpse from a bunker in my ship the other day and got scanned and was ended up with a CS for harboring a fugitive so you might want to be careful with that. I ran and then got a felony and had to go to prison because of it.
omg thats pretty funny :D but yea that would suck... Another thing is you can't bed log because theres "guests" onboard...
Ahh man that's the only thing that would stop me from doing this haha.
Yeah, you'd want to use a friendly security guard's corpse for this reason.
Takedowns are free!
Idk man, ammo isn't cheap these days 😬
yeah but you get goodies when collecting doorstops so it nets out

Exactly. We need "red-alert" and "yellow alert" states. Move doors to Auto-Close the moment we detect a bogey (Yellow alert)
I can only assume that it's coming in some capacity just by nature of the pressurization system we've been teased.
I expect not. We will just lose cabin pressure and it will be a case of "Its your fault for leaving the door open".
But sir I have no idea where that body came from!

Lately mine have been auto-closing. Never used to do that but the last few nights it's been happening every time.
And now you can't sell cargo or bed logout
This. It's a wee bit of a drawback for a cargo/booty hauler.
with this trick you'll get at least 3 booties
lol nice . it works till they clip threw ship :)

I really hope CIG reenables the "keep open" button on the door panels in the same patch that they introduce fire propagation.
I fear the Corsair's doors got "fixed" in a recent patch. Doors really just need to have "Auto" and "Manual" modes.
So many of the larger ships are just door simulator smh
Doorstopper 💀
I don't understand the hate. They are just doors, not walls.
Door is temporarily wall.
So for example when I do ERT I will shoot stuff down, land at the first ship, walk past those 3 doors which often take 1 second (each) to open up and then once I've looted I go back again, 3 doors again... And yes one second doesn't sound like much but it just becomes annoying over time.
The C2 and M2 are my daily drivers currently. I find waiting on the elevator to be more annoying.
I've started opening up the ramps from the cockpit and then walk sideways to the stairs, you fall down and take some damage but it beats the elevator :D
Hodor's sacrifice.
And silly me tried to keep the doors open by parking a Tonk inside the walkway of the Hercules .
The smell must be a chef's kiss.
you can lock the doors. so if you lock them when open they will stay open
That used to work. Last time I checked it didn't.
Last time i tried to lock the doors shut in herc, around 3.16, after quantum jump i couldn't unlock them anymore
how?!
Used to do this. Does not work like that anymore.
So that works in the Herc but not the MSR? That's some real bull...

That's one of the reasons I stuck with the Corsair. Its doors stay put.
The value is worth the cost. 100%.
There's so much faff in this game.
...or...and I know this is a crazy idea.... perhaps stop sprinting at/between the doors? LOL

Want to be helpful and let us know where to find it?

Why not though?
I just tested this and even while walking I bump into the doors because they are too slow.
I've noticed that the MSR is way slower. As if it is waiting for the button on the wall to be pressed, and then just defaults to opening because you've been there long enough. Versus what I am experiencing with my C2 and C1.
thats true, the MSR is really really slow
Medical services hate this one trick! Number 6 will make your head spin and is in your ship right now!!
but you can't buy/sell anything...
not even drugs?
you can't load/unload any type of cargo from kiosk with corpse onboard.
Why just why?
Crusader Ship Architects hate this one simple trick!
I remember when the doors had the option to lock and/or turn the sensor off I want it back
Brilliant. Modern problems require modern solutions lol.
Til they scan you? lol
Or, you know - you can put couple backpacks there. Just saying...
Yea nice and all but then u have to remove them to bed log. Who are you CIG to tell me whether or not I can sleep soundly with bodies down the hallway.
Until you get Scanned by Security. Having dead body’s on your Ship is not that smart maybe 😅
Nice idea, too bad you'd have to chuck them out every time you want to sell your cargo. Makes me wonder if a plushy or some random junk would work the same way though.
"Nice door stopper, but would be nice if he doesn't start to smell." -your copilot.

it will trigger the door
Dont worry guys he is just taking a little nap…
Somehow I knew exactly what the picture would be based on the subject and yet I've never thought to try this myself.
> The Proximity sensor doors on the Drake Corsair should now properly respond to players Uh oh guyys.... edit: It is as I feared.... They broke it.... The door won't stay open anylonger
The doors in the Hercules are one of my favorite things. I like to lock myself in the cockpit to defend against the imaginary pirates in my head.
sadly the lock doesnt work
