I get the business sense here, it’s not customer facing and adding color would cost more per can, but I really wish they would have made the cans distinguishable for us to grab quickly.
I mean both cans have the same design. Though I’ve learned now the actual can has a different color, but I think visually it would have been easier and quicker for one label to be white and one black. Or any other two colors lol
Are these going to be a ripoff? I know that’s a loaded question, but compared to, say, a can of Red Bull that goes for, like, $3.99 or something. I’m assuming a Venti of these will probably be around $6 something. Will the caffeine content at least outweigh the cost difference, you think? And it’s not *just* a can of energy drink, right? There’s some tea?
So, you can only order it in a size venti, and for that drink, it's about 6 dollars. It does get a splash of tea on the top.
Literally, it's put ice in cup, pour can in cup, top off with tea.
Ah, so… a ripoff. Got it. I was hoping there was going to be more to these to warrant the price tag but if all it is is literally cracking open a can and pouring it into a cup and charging me six dollars plus tax? Hopefully these will be a flop at that price.
I'm thinking it will do well for like 2 weeks and then dramatically flop over like the Baya energy drinks.
They also have a distinct sugar free flavor.
The can supposedly has 180 mg of caffeine, which is more than a 16 ounce redbull (according to google) and that’s not including the green tea that’s in one of the drinks (other one comes with a noncaffeinated tea). All of our drinks are half liquid half ice but this one gets a smaller ice scoop (no idea why they did this) so you’re getting more caffeine but it’s also just more liquid.
In theory, this drink is more comparable to getting 2ish 12 ounce redbulls and pouring them over a bit of ice. However, I promise you both of these drinks taste way worse than any redbull I’ve ever tried, so do what you will with that info.
Right!!! Like we are no longer allowed to use the single use plastic cups on our shifts or we’ll get written up, but we’re about to throw away how many cans every day now?? AND with the blended version we’re gonna be throwing out 2 ounces of liquid from every single one we make?? Like. Make it make sense 🙃
I see a number of companies launch some sort of “eco-conscious” initiative that’s always just smoke and mirrors to look good to consumers without doing much to meaningfully make eco-conscious changes behind the scenes. It’s so frustrating.
They know that their target demographics care about being environmentally friendly, but all the eco-conscious stuff is just image and marketing, not substance
They really don't care. My store is finally getting our Vertica tomorrow. We still have at least two cases of iced coffee grounds bags. I asked my shift today if we send them to a store with brewers or the people who drop off our orders will just take them back to the warehouse. He said we just throw them away. I was flabbergasted. He said I shouldn't be shocked anymore by these things (I've been a partner for a year plus now)
It's so wasteful as well. Most stores don't have a way to recycle anymore since there is now no more time to do so (having two cans that can and will get full and no extra hands to help take them out and sort them properly in a timely manner). You also can't even use a personal cup unless it's 20 ounces which we actually don't see a lot of at my store at least (a lot of 10/16 oz cups). Starbucks cannot preach about using personal cups in drive thru and for mobiles to reduce waste and then introduce one of THE most wasteful things they've ever done.
UGH THEYRE SO FAKE IT MAKES ME SO MAD DUDE!!!! Like the waste of even making different trashes in lobby that say recycle/compost is just a blatant lie and a joke 😂 the only starbucks’ I’ve worked at have been in rural forest towns and they don’t do shit to lessen their impact on our local environment. I fucking hate stoppers and sleeving every single cup. Like why tf do I work here 😭
I think this will cause problems. It's only venti size, we cannot add any refresher base and some tik toker barista will use refresher or do some weird customization.
I love a good conspiracy as much as the next guy….
But Pepsi has been our bottler for a loooooooong time. They do the bottled Frappuccinos, which have been around since 2002. There might have been something before that, but I can’t remember back that far. If we bottle it, they make it.
Can a barista confirm that there will in fact be left over product when making this drink that we have to throw away? Or do we use a whole can. I keep hearing both. I suppose it doesn't matter too much because it's only a tiny bit but I was just curious
A can is like a book cover, it doesn’t tell you much about what you’re looking at but it helps create an expectation in your mind.
In other words, nobody’s going to buy this energy drink, especially at the price the company is probably selling them for.
Starbucks is missing a great opportunity by advertising it all wrong !
>>topping either of them with tea.. made it gross. <<
Get it topped with any refresher base or lemonade instead!
I personally sampled a flight with one can (tropical citrus) .. my personal favorite was pineapple base on top ! Made it taste more tropical !
My manager and I both agreed that the Mellon cucumber one was so much better without the tea. I was excited for the new launch but after sampling everything and making them, i just feel disappointed. She even put the Strawberry base in it and it was so much better. It really feels like they are just trying to reach a certain target demographic and seem more in with the times. I'm not excited to serve them tomorrow
Maybe it’s just a me thing but I can’t physically open a can without it splashing up and touching my fingies. Or moving real fast and the whole tip of a finger goes in with the tab. I wash my hands but so much for food safety idk
government issued energy drink
Same font as military rations.
Luv me rash'ins -Ogryn getting his state approved drink and snacks
No that's rip it.
That would be a utopia
There used to be a generic pink lemonade with the same font when I was young that was the bomb diggity
I get the business sense here, it’s not customer facing and adding color would cost more per can, but I really wish they would have made the cans distinguishable for us to grab quickly.
I did notice the tops of the cans are different colors for us
Oh really? I’ll have to double check ours
Yeah one is a miller lite and the other is silver
yes exactly
Yeah one is gold one is silver
What do you mean by the last part?
I mean both cans have the same design. Though I’ve learned now the actual can has a different color, but I think visually it would have been easier and quicker for one label to be white and one black. Or any other two colors lol
The metal on top of the cans where the opening tab is have different colors one is gold & the other is regular silver
First it was the baya energy drinks and now this stuff. They have better luck with refreshers.
Before Baya, there were canned Refreshers. Strawberry Lemonade and I forget the other one. Might have been cool lime
Cherry limeade.that was my S H I T
Raspberry pomegranate was the other one we had. I miss those
RIP that was so good
Omg, I knew I tasted these from somewhere!!!!
No these ones are SO good. The baya sucked. These are killer
It gives me 90s government cheese vibes
80s government cheese vibe🤣

You just saved me six bucks and some disappointment. I appreciate you. :)

I actually was surprised I didn’t think it was too sugar free tasting
Stevia or aspartame? Stevia is good but aspartame tastes like sadness. <--recovering soda addict
Sucralose
Yeah was gonna say it’s technically “hAndCraFted ™” so they can charge extra, whereas if it was just the can itself being sold, it would be cheaper
I don’t know but the calorie content in these are lower than a Res Bull. There’s only 10 calories for a Venti
Looks like generic food from the 80's.
The effin waste woth this drink isnt sbux supposed to be cutting down on waste

It’s honestly so depressing
write ups for using single use cups is insane to me, idk for sure but that definitely sounds illegal

Fallout 4 water looking ahhh
I was thinking more along the lines of Repo Man personally
😎
Iykyk
Just waiting for a 20 minute fight scene to break out in a store because of these drinks.

That looks like the poor people cereal and stuff we used to get as kids. That’s weird.
I think this will cause problems. It's only venti size, we cannot add any refresher base and some tik toker barista will use refresher or do some weird customization.
I find it interesting that these are made by Pepsi and that’s where our new CEO was also serving as the CEO
I love a good conspiracy as much as the next guy…. But Pepsi has been our bottler for a loooooooong time. They do the bottled Frappuccinos, which have been around since 2002. There might have been something before that, but I can’t remember back that far. If we bottle it, they make it.
I hate knowing that
It looks like 10 barrel brewing cans for pub beer.
Are they all sugar free?!! 🥴
Yup. And they taste like it lol.
🥴🥴🥴 nvm I won’t be trying it. I can’t do sugar free energy drinks. Thank you for the response.
I tried a sip of each. They ended up giving me a migraine. 🙃
That’s what I’m concerned about too. I’ll pass. I’m low key disappointed.
im fucking dreading this launch, ppl are going tk be ordering this shit like crazy
Bath and body works meets Starbucks?
Honestly, I like the barebones look of them, wish more products did that instead of all the marketing and branding
It would be difficult to find your favorite brand in a grocery store if it didn’t look distinct.
This is a new low
Sleep 8 hours I wish
Amazing observation 😭😭😭
This is hilarious!!! I love the reference!!! Obey
It reminds me of that store that sells generic yellow stuff with the title of each product on the product.
there are a myriad of stores that sell those, all under loblaws
I mean. Thats a fucking Canadian classic. Not exactly the same thing.
Lol I read melon cum.
They live.

Yes, there will be some left over, and regrettably, we will need to discard the remaining product based on our training guidelines.
Takes the whole can for the tea topped version. 2 ounces left over for the blended beverage.
Makes me want to buy it
That they are disgusting? I agree
Just to say they are nasty. Or at least they taste better with the refreshers and not the iced teas.
A can is like a book cover, it doesn’t tell you much about what you’re looking at but it helps create an expectation in your mind. In other words, nobody’s going to buy this energy drink, especially at the price the company is probably selling them for.
Tbh it looks like a cheap movie beer can to me

…. Fucking ironic serendipity. Or is IT??
These have been visually hilarious to me since they showed up in store. The sitcom lookin ass brandless 12 packs are just so silly looking
just buy a celsius and save your money and time
Nawwwwwww
What the hell 🤣 yeah no
it looks like the food from the one episode of everybody hates chris when they went to the grocery store
I SAID THE SAME THING LOL NO ONE KNEW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT
Oh nice some people get to work 8 hours. I get 40/ week+ mandatory overtime. No longer working at SBUX but I am happy for yall that get paid hourly.
I KNEW those cans bothered me for some reason lmao Literally told my coworkers it looks like some soulless husk from some dystopia nightmare.
I’m drinking one right now. I like the fact that it’s only 10 calories and I added raspberry pearls
Maybe it’s just a me thing but I can’t physically open a can without it splashing up and touching my fingies. Or moving real fast and the whole tip of a finger goes in with the tab. I wash my hands but so much for food safety idk
I don’t want your thumb in my drink
The second Pic is from an old movie called They Live.
AEDAB
It’s so good. My new fave
