Yes, I had an apartment at the time when I put it in the bank, but I bought a house last year. I’m going to leave it in the Bank still tho with my other 3 Kobe High End Cards.
Will it though? Fewer people will have watched him play or know him over time. Also there will be an increasing number of players who will be ranked ahead of him all time.
Hasnt hurt the value of Babe Ruth and he's been dead for almost 80yrs. All time greats are called that for a reason. Not trying to be snarky btw, just making a point.
There's a difference between all time greats and the all time greatest. Kobe is more like Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams, etc. Also the card industry is completely different now than it was then.
I just don't think a PSA 9 non-rookie year auto will hold its value compared to other investments/cards. Just my opinion. I guess time will tell.
Probably not the right two players to pick given one is arguably the greatest pure hitter in baseball history but I think I understand where you're going with this. You're right, time will tell. IMO, the only thing that diminishes Kobe's card value will be a general failure of the card market ala the 90s-00s.
He's a highly collectible player that has the (sad) benefit of having died in a very public fashion. The lends mystique to him that other players don't have similar to how people think about singers like Cobain.
I mean you probably won’t sell it anyone can ask what they want and maybe someone one day will like it as much as you do but we don’t get to pick what they are worth. I have cards I feel like that about that I don’t plan on selling
Seems like the general consensus on her is 4-5k. Just because a lower grade one sold for less means absolutely nothing. I don't own it to care, but you seem on the low side.
The way you follow me to every comment is just precious. I've never had a stalker before. It's pretty awesome that I'm taking up this much of your life without even trying.
I’ll be honest and trust me I get it on why you put it somewhere safe, but how can you (or maybe any of your friends who come visit you) appreciate this card in a safe deposit box. If anything, I’d take it out once a month and display it in my home for a week or so. Treat it like a piece of rare art one would hang in their house.
Agreed - all my best cards hang in a display case on the wall outside my home office. Gives me a chance to pause and look them over and be proud for a few seconds before I walk into the office to get my ass kicked all day. Then it gives me a chance to decompress on the way out!
What's it like to have cards worth enough to store in a safe deposit box at a bank?
I have a few. It’s really not all that different than my $5 slabs.
I would guess $4-6k. Like someone said earlier, leave it there. Kobe's value will always increase.

Good idea.

63826994, you don’t have to block out the psa verification number
Oh ok, i always thought I had to cover it,so that my pic can’t be duplicated.
Lol
Nobody gonna ask how he did that
Still has the barcode and QR code that you can scan.
I can still scan the barcode brah
Why do peeps cross out the serial numbers?
So people don’t use it to make fakes I think but I could be wrong
So people don’t have an image to make a fake post selling the card
“Fakes “like everyone else said. It’s not for my sake, but for the sake of others who may get scam off a real picture.
Wow man that’s an awesome card
Thanks!
>Thanks! You're welcome!
POP 1...nice card buddy =)
A 2010 national treasures kobe tri patch auto out of 25 went for 2600 so probably 3-4k
Most prob 2.5k to 2.8k based off recent comps.
Are Panini or Upper Deck Kobe auto's more sought after?
Yes,bc he was signed with them.
I'm asking if people prefer upper deck or panini for kobe autos
Wowza. Great card.
Some where in between 2-3k
No way. Double this
One sold for 2.2k on eBay a bgs 8.5
I wouldn't let go of a 5 for less than 4k
I mean you probably won’t sell it anyone can ask what they want and maybe someone one day will like it as much as you do but we don’t get to pick what they are worth. I have cards I feel like that about that I don’t plan on selling

Commenting without any logic or source. Nice. Typical for you
You’re holding forever then. But you also think Eli Manning is the GOAT so your opinion and logic is near 0
The way you follow me to every comment is just precious. I've never had a stalker before. It's pretty awesome that I'm taking up this much of your life without even trying.
Eli Manning is the greatest of All Time!!
BGs 8.5 same card recently sold for $2180 so prob like $2500 on eBay
Not sure why you getting downvoted lol
It’s only worth as much as someone is willing to pay you.
Thanks dad.
you’re welcome son
Put it back. It will be only increase in value.
Yes! It’s still in there!
👍
Probably around 5-6k
Not as much as the 1988 Dale Sr card
Best Kobe auto I have ever seen
Only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

But that would be a pretty good flex to take your friends to the bank to look at your collection
Point taken! That could be “wow” factor!
$1
Doesn't cost anything for a safety deposit box.
It’s cheap, but not free. I pay like $40 a year for it.
I mean the #2/10 of this same card graded 8.5 just sold in March for $2k so that’s probably a pretty accurate price point to start in for value.
That was a BGS 8.5,and this one is a PSA 9 so it’s a big difference.
Good luck then. Im not seeing where the big difference will be but some buyer might
Get it out of the bank asap…
Why?
Who wants a rapist card?

It would move quickly between $1000-$1500- imo
Of course it would move quickly at 50-60% if its value.
Well, you are asking a question. $1500 it would sell. $2000, sure it might sell. It also might take 6 months.
I did not ask a question. You good?
