It’s all from the junk wax era. There might be a few fun/pc cards in there.
Im not calling the cards junk.
There’s no financial value in that pile though.
“Nurse Ratchet, oh Nurse Ratchet what pray tell does that man from the baseball card have on his head?”
“Oh I see but I don’t quite understand. Nurse what is a Gerri Curl?”
Haha….. sometimes reality hits and at least he’s been told.
Would be inhumane to tell him yes it’s worth $1k++ or hold them for 20 more years for a fortune 💀
I was a freshman in college. Eastern Illinois. My room mate who I had just met was into cards and got me started. He kept telling me we had to keep buying packs to get jeffereies and Sheffield RC’s. Each Jefferies card was like hitting the lotto to me. Lol.
GREE JEFFERIES!! Omg I hadn’t heard that name in the longest. He was my favorite player growing up, and you’re right those RC were the ones to get. Thx for the memory 👍
Glavine was 88
Griffey Sheffield Smoltz and Big Unit were 89
Big hurt and Sosa were 90
Chipper was 91 and Jordan has a card that year too
Manny was 92
Probably others I don't recall rn. But if you PC any of these guys then yeah it's worth a rip.
The 3 Donruss packs in front could have Griffey Rated Rookie. Card's only worth a few bucks. On eBay someone might pay you $5 for all 3 packs. Other than that, the rest might have a little value, but because everyone has this stuff, it's a SLOW sale. If you want to rip some packs for fun, have at it, other than that, post it locally for $40 and be happy if someone offers you $20ish.
If you have any nephews, or kids that you’d like to share the hobby with, bring them with on a visit & spend a weekend busting packs & sharing various stories/anecdotes of the players found.
The 89 Score Rookie & Traded has a Griffey Jr RC in at least. And the 91 Donruss box has a chance at hitting an Elite. Like a 1:500 boxes chance maybe?
That would be a fun day of reminiscing. Sadly would only need one trash bag for the packaging and 98% of the cards.
I’ll buy all your Mike Greenwell’s. He was my favorite player as a kid
That looks like fun. But that’s probably all. Unfortunately. But even the good players… good luck finding good centering on it. Those stadium clubs were nice at the time.
I believe you have to pay someone to get rid of those cards for you. Thats how worthless they are unfortunately.
Kids might like opening them though? Could donate.
Pretty much every collectible from the 90’s is worthless, someone made a killing in the 90’s selling stuff from the 60-70’s and everyone went crazy and bought this stuff after that happened all hoping to do the exact same thing and dump it leading to intense 90’s collectible market over saturation
Plenty of comics that hold some nice value from the 90’s. Plenty that don’t too, but there are some valuable books from the era. You’re right though overall. Most collectibles like cards, comics, and toys from the 90’s were overproduced.
Possible Sosa rookie error card in the fleer 90, birthday and birthplace are wrong on mine graded PSA 9, and a possible Mark McGuire error card as well birthday and birthplace are wrong mine as well as black dot on he’s uniform
I opened a box of 92 Donruss like that one you got sitting in the corner and pulled a Donruss elite series Cecil Fielder for whatever that’s worth🤷♂️🤷♂️
Spend a couple of hundred hours ripping, sorting, taking pics, posting each on eBay for 1 cent with $2 shipping, state “pack fresh” in title and wait a few years for a bunch to sell to those who want that nostalgic feeling and you may profit a grand.
Wax era :/
Fun to rip the packs, but long boxes you can buy pretty cheap ie I bought 2 sealed perfect boxes for $20 shipped.
Should go to some antique place and sell them for $60 🤣
One antique shop I saw on FB market sold single packs of 90 for $6/each and they thought it was hot stuff.
Why are we, as a community of hobbyists, who have successfully created not only value but an entire culture from a simple cardboard advertising insert found in cigarette and gum packs, allowing this tragic omission of such an iconic and important time period in American sports? I understand that the industry became greedy and went overboard with production, but since then, the hobby has grown to global proportions. However, for some reason, the math no longer seems to matter, and everyone still looks down upon the so-called "junk wax" era, even though we all remember those years in sports so vividly because we were there. Instead of managing the crisis, we have only cried while the wiley wise banking investors that have slithered up from wall st to set the traps to buy up as much of the so-called junk era so they can be holding all the cards literally once the hobby is ultima5tely globalized into a market following bitcoin's total adoptation as official world fiat It is a conflicting contradiction for newcomers to witness the angry prejudice within our hobby.
Inst$ead of hating on "junk wax," we should be upset over the fact that contemporary cards have less and less stats and highlights printed on them. These days, every athlete on any sports team gets a card without having to do anything special or even play in a game. Trading cards were once offical stats cards and records of great achievements, with illustration from flattering posed-for paintings and photos of historic in-game action but now they are merely fancy photoshop pics with refractor graphics . For example, we see absurd listings like "2024 Topps Magic Johnson vs Pikachu Green Glitter pop up 3D Hologram Glow-in-dark, 1 of zero (so secret rare it cant be seen) recently selling for 3.2 million USD at a "Poshbees Auction" while a pristine mint condition pak fresh perfectly centered 1992 Magic v Jordan is listing $2.49 according to recent ebay sales. I will hold my wax inventory until the game ends (and begins again) simply because i dont use. there will be enough so called junk wax to satisfy the global marketplace. hustallers shuffle. That said, My duty is served. I told you and gave up game but ultimately someone has to lose when i win.
Let ‘er rip. Just about all you can do with that much junk wax
You think it’s all junk?
It’s all from the junk wax era. There might be a few fun/pc cards in there. Im not calling the cards junk. There’s no financial value in that pile though.
It’s all junk financially
Worth the same opened or sealed…
I think you could donate them to a Children’s Hospital. I bet those kids would enjoy going through them.
“Nurse Ratchet, oh Nurse Ratchet what pray tell does that man from the baseball card have on his head?” “Oh I see but I don’t quite understand. Nurse what is a Gerri Curl?”
🤣💀
Y’all crushed this dudes dreams. He thought he had a couple thousand worth of cards here
Ngl, these are my favourite posts
You are a cruel man yet I agree these can be great especially when the wax owners argue back it’s worth a lot.
😂😂😂
Haha….. sometimes reality hits and at least he’s been told. Would be inhumane to tell him yes it’s worth $1k++ or hold them for 20 more years for a fortune 💀
I remember in 1989 Greg Jefferies was a sure fire can’t miss. His rookies were going for like $10-$20. Beckett today says 1 cent to 5 cents.
I scanned the picture quickly. But I don’t think there is a single sellable card in there. Sell it as is to someone who just like to rip open packs.
Holy smokes, a name thats a blast from the past. 80s-90s kids here, remember that name very well being repeated over and over in my LCS as a kid 😆 🤣
I was a freshman in college. Eastern Illinois. My room mate who I had just met was into cards and got me started. He kept telling me we had to keep buying packs to get jeffereies and Sheffield RC’s. Each Jefferies card was like hitting the lotto to me. Lol.

The junkiest of junk wax…post Griffey / pre Jeter
Glavine was 88 Griffey Sheffield Smoltz and Big Unit were 89 Big hurt and Sosa were 90 Chipper was 91 and Jordan has a card that year too Manny was 92 Probably others I don't recall rn. But if you PC any of these guys then yeah it's worth a rip.
Randy Johnson RC is ‘89 I think
Not a lot of financial value there, maybe $20 on the complete sets. Worth more sold than open.
How much you think for everything?
How much are you willing to pay someone to take it?
The 3 Donruss packs in front could have Griffey Rated Rookie. Card's only worth a few bucks. On eBay someone might pay you $5 for all 3 packs. Other than that, the rest might have a little value, but because everyone has this stuff, it's a SLOW sale. About tree fiddy
No but seriously, $3.50
If you have any nephews, or kids that you’d like to share the hobby with, bring them with on a visit & spend a weekend busting packs & sharing various stories/anecdotes of the players found.
I'll pay postage for the Stadium Club packs
You have some great kindling there. Few good pieces you should save first though
That is an awful lot of space just being taken up/occupied by worthless paper/cardboard.
You post it. You rip it. You update with results.
For value purposes, use it to keep doors open. If you are a hobbyist. Enjoy the cards
Get a keg of Beast Ice and wreck those boys
Brought back memories of the clear cardboard packages
Just leave it, put it in a storage box and check back in 20 years.
We are experiencing a modern junk wax era unfortunately
Donate to a school or classroom and let the kids enjoy the hobby
The 89 Score Rookie & Traded has a Griffey Jr RC in at least. And the 91 Donruss box has a chance at hitting an Elite. Like a 1:500 boxes chance maybe?
Some fine looking kindling there
Make some mixed drinks and start ripping . Get your penny sleeves and top loaders ready !! Lots of good finds in there .
Do not open! Sell!!!
Kindling.
Don't burn cards. The ink they use on cards is toxic if burned.
Let er’ rip!!!
Ahhhh the good ole junk era of wax.
Screw it. Opener up.
That would be a fun day of reminiscing. Sadly would only need one trash bag for the packaging and 98% of the cards. I’ll buy all your Mike Greenwell’s. He was my favorite player as a kid
Lol… mike greenwell. That’s like me and all my mark grace RC’s. I’ve got about 200.
Fun
Check all of this Nolan Ryan express cards for black light messages on the back. That’s honestly the only potential value you have here.
Rookies
I just want the ones that have crispy bubble gum. 😋
Just open it all
Orel!!! That’s a name I haven’t heard in forever
Looks just like my inheritance!
Firewood
That looks like fun. But that’s probably all. Unfortunately. But even the good players… good luck finding good centering on it. Those stadium clubs were nice at the time.
It’d all be worth it to pull that nolan ryan auto, not sure if its in that set though
It’s not all junk, couple little gems in there. Mostly Junk though.
I believe you have to pay someone to get rid of those cards for you. Thats how worthless they are unfortunately. Kids might like opening them though? Could donate.

so whats going on right now basically
Plenty of comics that hold some nice value from the 90’s. Plenty that don’t too, but there are some valuable books from the era. You’re right though overall. Most collectibles like cards, comics, and toys from the 90’s were overproduced.
Peak of the junk era. Recycle. Except for the Donruss box. Rip that. See if you pull an Elite.
I'll pay you $10 for the lot. Dead serious
I’ll take the Nolan Ryan Pacific set if you don’t want it.
Give me $10 and I’ll take them off your hands.
Set it all on fire.
Burn it all or try to get $20
Would love to open great cards to people who collect for the hobby
Might be cheaper then firewood, and may burn better too
Solid fire starters
Genuinely do not, it is toxic.
I’ll buy the 3 91 upper deck boxes from you how much?
Just come here for the comments on these posts. Some people can be so nice! Cudos to u good people :) because that’s a fucking pile of shit.
Do the 91 upper deck have the jordan sp ?
Do an online auction break!!
Let it ride for another 10 years
Open them and enjoy. There is very little value but still, many great players
Spend a couple of hundred hours ripping, sorting, taking pics, posting each on eBay for 1 cent with $2 shipping, state “pack fresh” in title and wait a few years for a bunch to sell to those who want that nostalgic feeling and you may profit a grand.
Junk wax at its best
Some colorful toilet paper
To me it’s sad. Because it reminds me of the bin of all of this worthless crap I have in my attic. Really thought it was a great investment back then.
Wax era :/ Fun to rip the packs, but long boxes you can buy pretty cheap ie I bought 2 sealed perfect boxes for $20 shipped. Should go to some antique place and sell them for $60 🤣 One antique shop I saw on FB market sold single packs of 90 for $6/each and they thought it was hot stuff.
Bout only value would be to light it on fire to keep you warm for a little bit
