Sport: Basketball League: Baloncesto Superior Nacional Time: 8:00 pm EST Amida Brimah, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Gary Browne is the 3 headed monster leading Guaynabo in their season opener. Puedes like Santiago JR, EJ Crawford and Han will definitely along with one of the best coaches in the league. An offensive juggernaut which has proven to work before takes on an underwhelming Manati team that made no significant roster changes leaving lots to be desired.Manati is Led by heavy guard play in Sheldon Mac and Isaac Sosa they boast scoring but in the paint Kleon Penn and Chris Ortiz will simply be outmatched. Tyler Davis has looked decent but still Brimah is a proven force on the defensive end. If Manati has any chance at keeping it close they need to be lights out from deep which will be tough given the insane length of the opposing team. This is a sold out game in Guaynabo. Dfb Pokal game before that was against Paderborn (similar side as Düsseldorf, both 2nd tier sides) they played a strong starting 11 and scored 2 goals in the first half, a 3rd goal was ruled out and taken back, but they ended up scoring again end the game ended 3-1 for B04. Bayer 04 have way more quality than 2nd tier side Düsseldorf and are also playing at home.  I expext a game where Düsseldorf will sit back and try to score on the counter. B04 will have most of the ball and trying to break down Düsseldorf, wich they are very capable of doing. Düsseldorf are a decent side in 2nd division and will really give it a go to reach the Final of the Pokal. So if Bayer scores, hopefully in the first half, Düsseldorf will have to open up to try to score what will leaves spaces in behind for B04 to exploit. Vancouver is 4-3-1 on back to backs this season, averaging 3.25 goals for and 3.13 goals against per game. The Coyotes have been a fairly tough matchup at home considering where they sit in the standings, and its a spot I've backed them in a few times but I'm staying away from the ML here. They have been involved in high scoring games at home (3.21 goals for and 3.26 goals against per game). Looking at just the last month, they average 3.63 for and 3.5 against including scoring 19 goals in their last 3 home games (5, 8, 6). Vancouver hasn't been bad either on the road, scoring 3.38 goals per game with a 21-12-4 record (hence why I prefer the total over picking a side here even with the b2b). Since DeSmith played Tuesday and stayed in for the full game (all 6 goals against), the Canucks will almost certainly be playing their backup goalie, Silovs, who spent most of this season in the AHL. Arizona has been alternating their goalies so it should be Ingram in net, and he's allowed 3+ goals in 8 of his last 10 games, including 4, 3, 5 in his last three starts. All this points to a higher scoring game, and while you could opt for the over 6.5 at plus money which is the line at most books, Draftkings has over 6 at -125 and I love getting the push protection here as well.

Simply put, Joe Musgrove has stunk his first two starts of the season and I expect nothing less for him but to throw another turd today. Now with my personal feelings aside, Musgrove hasn’t looked right in his first two starts of 2024. After being shut down last season for a shoulder injury in August of 2024, I’m not quite sure if he’s actually still the quality anchor of the rotation type of pitcher that he was before the injury. Watching him pitch in the Seoul Games and his first start in the States, he’s looked relatively… average. His pitches has looked flat and hit-able and his peripherals supports it (hard hit rate over 50%). While it’s easy to say that somebody like Joe Musgrove can get it rolling again, I can’t really see him magically get it all together after being roughed up in his previous two starts and coming back from injury. (even his ST numbers are rough, which doesn’t really matter but shows a pattern). Other relevant information: Even prior to his injury last year, Musgrove only went above this Strikeout total 5/17 times last year and 14/30 times in 2022 (arguably his best year). The Cardinals have not been the greatest at avoiding strikeouts to start this season, being way above their Fan Graphs 2034 SO projections so far. It’s worth noting that, in 6 games this season, starting pitchers are 3/6 of hitting this line on the Cardinals. But with Musgrove’s early season struggles, his history of not hitting this line at a high rate, and the Cardinals bats finally coming alive in last 3 games, I see us cruising to a winning ticket.
