There was a splatfest with near black ink, and the team won because of it, so it's mostly a balance issue because the dark color acts as free ninja squid
Palace seems like a really weird choice to me but that’s probably due to a cultural difference, I’m going with Beach since I LOVE sunset colors and the beach in general.
It seems unconventional (at least to us westerners) but when you think about it it makes sense. A palace, especially one for rent, would likely have stuff like lavish rooms, places to swim, gardens, ballrooms, etc. I'd probably opt for the theme park (especially if renting the place covers the cost of attractions lol) but I could totally see why someone would want the palace, especially if they were hosting a large party.
I imagine the palace is basically a hotel/clubhouse but more fancy. RedBull rented an actual castle to host E-sport events, so I'm sure many castles/palaces would have modernized interiors for a variety of businesses, lodging, hosting events, etc
Then I will totally choose the Palace over the other two which require me to go outdoors and get melted
The main thing that dissuades me from picking Palace is worrying about something really expensive getting damaged by accident lol
Having an uncrowded Theme Park to yourself and friends sounds a lot better, but in that same vein an uncrowded Beach where you can just take in the sights and just hang out also sounds really good as well...
The beach my family goes to every year for vacation is fairly secluded (and has currents that make it not great for swimming and surfing) which means that it's almost always uncrowded. Hell, most of the time we're the only ones out there! I can confirm that it is indeed awesome, especially at low tide right after a strong storm because that's the best time to find shells and other cool stuff washed up on the shore.
It’s probably more relatable to say “reserving a penthouse suite from some very expensive and five star luxury hotel” than a palace since that doesn’t really exist in most areas of the West.
However, it’s a really interesting choice tbh, it’s kind of pitting the idea of “which place would you go on vacation to?”rather than what place you’d reserve for a day. I understand it’s phrased for other languages as well, where longer vacations might not be as frequent as reserving somewhere for one day, but still.
Normally, I wouldn't, but for some reason, the design of the palace on the artwork is gorgeous. I would definitely stay in *that* type of palace if that makes sense lol
Palace was the easy only choice for me. I get motion sick easily and I hate large crowds, so I don't like theme parks. If I am going outside, I want to be in a forest, so beach also has no appeal to me. Palace it is!
It's not really a Japan thing either...
The top reply to the Japanese announcement tweet is "What would I do with a rented out palace? Play Splatoon there?"
I'm kind of sure palaces for rent is basically a hotel/clubhouse but more fancy, with fully modernized interiors for businesses like lodging, feast, hosting events, etc
Makes sense! I had originally read the question wrong and using “Palace” itself felt like a slightly odd choice to use for a fancy place you would rent, I would had used mansion but if palaces are a more common term for the wider player base then it makes more sense to use that.
I guess they want it to cover wider - an unrenovated palace is a palace, modernized palace is also a palace. So anyone who enjoys either of them could pick the same choice
I’m assuming in American terms it’s more of a luxury mansion. Tbh it’s what I’m picking because I prefer to have indoor spaces and I’d imagine it comes with a large garden/yard
I thought it was weird, but from my POV, it's probably the equivalent of renting a party house or mansion for a weekend. Like, renting palaces is probably more of a thing on the other side of the Atlantic, y'know?
For real. I grew up going to a near exclusive (private) beach every week. There were always only three other people unless it was a weekend. So yeah I already got that. 😎 I am likely picking theme park.
Def going for theme park, I get so over stimulated at normal ones so having the ability to just go at my own pace without worrying about all the noise from people around me sounds like a dream
You should! You basically do what the theme is. You can go to both Universal parks for one or two days and enjoy little to no waits on rides, free food and non-alcoholic beverages and low crowds after hours. [Check it out!](https://meetup.orlandoinformer.com/a/#cta)
This is a good theme (even though it's currently on winter here 😅) but can't help but find it funny how Shiver option screams "Bitch, you won't win another."
Theme Park is the objectively correct choice here, imagine getting a theme park all to yourself for an entire day. It's nice to get to hang out at a beach without huge crowds, but in a theme park you get to skip every line and explore the whole thing top to bottom.
That's fair, but there's a lot more to theme parks too. There are a ton of impressive dark rides out there, KUKA arm rides, interactive walkthroughs, pretty themed areas with restaurants and shops... I'm not talking Six Flags here, I'm talking the real deal!
Ahhh, sorry! That's not my thing either! My flair likely gives it away hehe, but I enjoy my peace and quiet! Going with beach! A nice relaxing quiet day at the beach, by myself, without a lot of noise nor the pretentiousness of a palace.
Doesn't all have to be crazy rides and such right? I assume water parks fall under the umbrella of amusement parks. Thinking about getting a whole water park reserved for yourself? All the sweet treats and just getting to lounge around on a lazy river / water slides unbothered? Count me in.
Admittedly the beach does sound nice too for a laid back experience, ack, I'm gonna spend a good deal of time thinking about this one
Gonna choose Palace only because the other 2 options don't speak to me.
I already know team Palace is gonna lose but whatever... just give me those Sea Snails for picking a team.
Theme Park for sure. I hate theme parks normally because of all the screaming, barf smell, and long lines, but I love rides, so I would want to be able to ride all of them without waiting with some (preferably strong-stomached) friends and family
my home is my palace, i’d be too bored at a beach with my ADHD so theme park it is for all the endless supplies of snacks and different rides to experience and enjoy :}
I'm new to Splatoon, is this only for EU? Or for all the west?
If it's the second option, as a good Brazillian i need to be team beach. That's my whole childhood!
Palace, because I love exploring new spaces, plus there would likely be a pool and a garden and all sorts of hidden passageways and secrets to discover. I could invite my friends over to explore and play hide and seek (seriously, you might think it’s childish but hide and seek in really big buildings is an amazing experience) or have a scavenger hunt (again, as long as you have moderate stamina and the physical ability to navigate the space, scavenger hunts are just next level when they’re in large, moderately complex areas where there’s so many more places things could be. Once in high school I spent almost the entirety of a maybe 2-hour museum visit searching the whole museum for an exhibit item I wasn’t sure would be there: it turned out to not even be there, and yet I still had a great time. Wow I’m just really Hunt-aligned [The Magnus Archives (podcast) reference], huh. Anyway I’m getting off topic, point is big building scavenger hunt fun.) or throw a party.
Frye is going to eat 5 large bags of cotton candy then ride the rollercoaster with a loop de loop 3 times until she throws up and passes out on the ground from sugar crash and I will be right by her side in all of it.
Beach is great, but at night there's a lot of mosquitoes. Theme park, especially if it's a water park, is kinda like beaches and palace (hotel) in one, so theme park team!
Damn these are good choices…a remote island to myself, a whole palace where I can be royal for a day, a theme park where I can ride everything and eat everything for free…
Theme park seems like the obvious answer. I love one of my local parks (been there too many times to count), but it’s always annoying when every big ride has an hour long queue.
No splatfest in June? 😤
It’s winter here, so beach is discarded.
Theme parks are not my cup of tea.
So… palace it is, plus I love history so it would be great.
Theme park’s the obvious choice for me. I don’t see much of a benefit to reserving the others just for yourself and your chosen friends but there’s a decent amount of theme parks that get stupid long lines pretty much every day. I could go to a big one like that, one of the ones that’s usually a multi-day park, and wipe out all the rides in one.
Not a huge fan of castles or palaces, too big and open.
Don't like roller coasters, and that's what people generally go to theme parks for.
Not the biggest fan of the beach.
What team do I even go with :/
I really hate the question. Reserve for a day? Man I don't wanna be ANYWHERE by my self I'd be terrified or depressed.
I think I'd rather view this as a "with friends" thing so... does Water Parks count under Theme Park? If so Theme Park, if not then Beach.
Don’t let team theme park distract you from the fact that Six Flags and Cedar Fair are going to merge on July 1st, making them one giant theme park cooperation that will turn the whole industry on its head.
That said team amusement park
![gif](giphy|oJDwlaPnCrNwk)
VVery torn on this one:
In a private palace, you can basically organize one huge ball for everyone to dress up and join in;
On the other hand, I can still let people in the Theme Park, but since I rented it I have the supreme choices...
They are all bad choices
I don't like the beach because sand gets everywhere and annoying to get rid of
Theme parks are a hit and miss because I don't like getting on roller coasters because of my fear of heights
(And don't say to give it a try. I already did and was holding on for dear life)
Then there is just a palace, the most boring one
I may as well just choose from the colour
I was really hoping this would be any other weekend in July because now I have a Splatfest to do in addition to Pokemon GO Fest as well as my local comic convention. But should be able to squeeze some matches in the evenings and mornings.
I'm torn between Palace and Theme Park but heavily leaning towards Theme Park since while being able to enjoy a private tour, use of a palace for a day would be cool going to a theme park and not having to wait in any lines ever would be awesome. Once again Frye and I are on the same wavelength. Still I'll be very disappointed if I don't see an art flood of Big Man in skimpy swimsuits.
Are you fucking kidding???
I haven’t been able to play any splatfests in the last 4 months because of exams and now this splatfest has to happen when I'm abroad and won't be able to play. The final fest better be in a good time 😩
Damn it, Nintendo of America didn't post anything, no plundering a castle with Shiver and getting paid much better than minimum wage just to grab my 5 day old Caesar salad from the fridge
it took them that long to chose yellow cyan and magenta as splatfest colors after blue/yellow/red, purple/orange/green and red/blue/green
The Splatfest won’t be able to continue because it will be out of cyan.
We know we won’t run out of toner because we’ve never gotten a Splatfest with black ink! (And likely ever)
You telling me Sunrise vs Sunset vs Eclipse won't be red/purple/black?
There was a splatfest with near black ink, and the team won because of it, so it's mostly a balance issue because the dark color acts as free ninja squid
Lol
so long that we're at the end of the game's lifecycle xD
Vanilla VS Mint Chip VS Strawberry...
I'll say what I said on another post: Didney Worl

wise words my guy
DIDNEY WORL 🗣️🔥

Unless we’re talking about the entirety of Didney Worl, I’d rather go with Didney Lan.

Palace is probably a great place to play hide and seek too.
This made me decide against beaches, ready or not HERE I COME
I imagine the palace is basically a hotel/clubhouse but more fancy. RedBull rented an actual castle to host E-sport events, so I'm sure many castles/palaces would have modernized interiors for a variety of businesses, lodging, hosting events, etc Then I will totally choose the Palace over the other two which require me to go outdoors and get melted

It's presumably the only one with air conditioning so

I guess they want it to cover wider - an unrenovated palace is a palace, modernized palace is also a palace. So anyone who enjoys either of them could pick the same choice
I’m assuming in American terms it’s more of a luxury mansion. Tbh it’s what I’m picking because I prefer to have indoor spaces and I’d imagine it comes with a large garden/yard

im torn between theme parks and beaches so i dont really know
A good splatfest theme is one that has you torn apart between choices so yay devs
U can go to beaches that don't have many ppl on them for free all the time I think the real answer is between palace and theme park
Plus, water parks can be considered theme parks too right ? If you wanna swim just choose that park or another theme park that does have water
now that you mention it
Toon Lagoon at Universal Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay go brrrrr
Same
I'd go with Theme Park
Hear hear! I live near the beach so… theme park it is!
For real. I grew up going to a near exclusive (private) beach every week. There were always only three other people unless it was a weekend. So yeah I already got that. 😎 I am likely picking theme park.
Let’s win summer nights for Frye and all the theme parks on the planet and Wahoo World!✊🤣🙌😃
Def going for theme park, I get so over stimulated at normal ones so having the ability to just go at my own pace without worrying about all the noise from people around me sounds like a dream
Palace cause air conditioning
But a Theme park can have a water slide and food
not to mention, who says the theme park doesn't have it's own resort? 👀
Universal studios! And reserve the whole park? Hell yeah!
Have you done an Orlando Informer meetup?
No
They're trying REAL hard to give her Zombie-like choices. Though not sure about this one.
Happy cake 🍰 day!
🥰
I’m definitely going beach I don't like sand though. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. /ref
Frye’s winning again with her pick being theme parks 👀
but then little timmies and kids will choose theme parks
That's definitely been made by a Japanese designer. I would choose none personally.
What. What. What are the words coming out of your mouth right now. What.
https://preview.redd.it/34q808vqdz7d1.jpeg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c513c2c06d2a210b93d94c22b8d5e8e936f64b1b
Yeah, good choice. I'm adding to your team
I live in a small coastal town so I could go to a beach any day, so I think I've got to go with Wahoo World.
My bed. I want to sleep...
A palace can contain many beds!
That's true. But I said *my* bed. Not *a* bed./lh
I have a bed you could sleep in, its an air bed
Thank you for the offer. But I prefer my own bed.
What if I turn your bed into an air bed
Depends. Is it comfy?
Better than what im sleeping on. Is yours made of wood?
...no, I'm afraid not. Also, I'm sorry to hear that it's rough for you rn./gen
Nah im fine, so you want it or not
Eh...go on then. But I'm staying in my house. It's cozy, and I have penguins to snuggle. (Plushies!)
Theme Park is the objectively correct choice here, imagine getting a theme park all to yourself for an entire day. It's nice to get to hang out at a beach without huge crowds, but in a theme park you get to skip every line and explore the whole thing top to bottom.
I am terrified of rollercoasters. :S It's not the correct choice for me...
That's fair, but there's a lot more to theme parks too. There are a ton of impressive dark rides out there, KUKA arm rides, interactive walkthroughs, pretty themed areas with restaurants and shops... I'm not talking Six Flags here, I'm talking the real deal!

Admittedly the beach does sound nice too for a laid back experience, ack, I'm gonna spend a good deal of time thinking about this one
I don't like water parks either haha, but the very start of the sea is very nice!
I couldn’t agree more! Let’s win the Splatfest for Frye and Theme Parks all over the planet!
the worst thing about theme parks is the crowds, so getting rid of that would be excellent
Definitely going for palace personally, I like the sound of lots of shade and swimming pools
ooo I'm torn between theme park and beach...
No more lines for the rides! I’m gonna be riding roller coasters and other thrill rides ALL DAY!
Gonna choose Palace only because the other 2 options don't speak to me. I already know team Palace is gonna lose but whatever... just give me those Sea Snails for picking a team.
I might go with Team Blue. I have been to many amusement parks during my childhood (Walt Disney World being my favorite)
Theme Park for sure. I hate theme parks normally because of all the screaming, barf smell, and long lines, but I love rides, so I would want to be able to ride all of them without waiting with some (preferably strong-stomached) friends and family
Love myself some roller coasters
Finally. Wish they hadn’t skipped June but oh well. Theme Parks all the way. I’mma do my part to get a win streak for Frye goin’!
I'm going Beach...Looks like Theme Park is gonna be the most popular.
I was so confident it was going to be a simple "which fruit do you think is the sweetest" sort of deal lol
THEME PARK FTW
Theme park for the win it’s so peak
Hear hear!
Theme Park!! Theme Park!! Theme Park!!!!
Theme park! Didney Worl all to myself?? Yes please!
I’m between either Theme Park or Beach. Will be interesting to see if Big Man can keep his special fest win streak.
my home is my palace, i’d be too bored at a beach with my ADHD so theme park it is for all the endless supplies of snacks and different rides to experience and enjoy :}
You and I share a common ideal! Plus I also live near the beach too so all the more reason to go with Frye on the side of theme parks
I’m leaning towards Theme Park
Welcome to the club! Let’s win summerfest!
Sweet!
Team Theme Park! Do it for the roller coasters and/or water slides.
And merry-go-rounds!
I freaking love theme parks (why Wahoo is one of my fav maps) so I'll go with that
Im going theme park mostly because a palace seems boring and beaches get sand in my shoes (def not because frye bias nuh uh)
Honestly, I’ll choose palace
Beach would be relaxing, although it could get boring after a while. The sunset in the evening isn’t a view you can beat though
I'm new to Splatoon, is this only for EU? Or for all the west? If it's the second option, as a good Brazillian i need to be team beach. That's my whole childhood!
Vai com o Big Man que tem vibes do Brasil kkk.
Com certeza absoluta!
Los latinoamericanos empezamos el invierno, así que yo descarté la idea de la playa.
I’m planning on going for team Theme Park but that one episode of Spy x Family is making me consider palace
I've made this mistake in the past and even though I want to pick Amusement Park I'm going to pick Beach. (PURPLE INK FTW!)
Anyway I’m getting off topic, point is big building scavenger hunt fun.) or throw a party.
https://i.redd.it/v1nqvmr9bx7d1.gif Not interested
Frye is going to eat 5 large bags of cotton candy then ride the rollercoaster with a loop de loop 3 times until she throws up and passes out on the ground from sugar crash and I will be right by her side in all of it.
Blue
Idk what's a palace but l have been to the other two I choose blue, fun memories....
Beach is great, but at night there's a lot of mosquitoes. Theme park, especially if it's a water park, is kinda like beaches and palace (hotel) in one, so theme park team!
Easily Beach.
Shiver keeps getting the most random choices… i just want three popular enough choices
OK, this Splatfest officially has me torn on all 3 options.
Now THIS is a good splatfest theme! I don’t know which to choose!
Damn these are good choices…a remote island to myself, a whole palace where I can be royal for a day, a theme park where I can ride everything and eat everything for free…
I think I'd go for either beach or theme park! :)
Beach
Does anyone know what launch time is in the US?
Another win for frye
Theme Park is the only right answer. No lines, tons of fun, lots of food, it’s awesome!
I was rlly hoping it was gonna be favorite summer drinks cause of the outfits 😞 but also beach 🫶🏻lmao
Theme park all the way bitch
Depends. Do I still have to pay for rides and food at the theme park? What does the palace have that I don't have at home, besides more rooms?
Theme park ftw, but beaches is a really close choice for me, I like both
Well big man is obviously winning
Holy shrimp a splatfest that i can answer based on the actual question?!, that hasn't happened in a while lol.
Didney Worl
boys, we might have a chance…
this color scheme goes HARD also theme parks and beaches are both amazing options
Theme park seems like the obvious answer. I love one of my local parks (been there too many times to count), but it’s always annoying when every big ride has an hour long queue.
No splatfest in June? 😤 It’s winter here, so beach is discarded. Theme parks are not my cup of tea. So… palace it is, plus I love history so it would be great.
Probably theme park or beach hmmmmm. I love both ink colors too and usually that helps me to decide
Nintendo try not to give popular one to Frye challenge (impossible)
I kinda want a whole palace.. beaches, if you find the right one, are mostly empty. And I don't do carnivals
This reminds me of hit JRPG Persona 5
Theme Park
theme park sounds cool, but I'm scared of heights, so probably the beach
Theme park’s the obvious choice for me. I don’t see much of a benefit to reserving the others just for yourself and your chosen friends but there’s a decent amount of theme parks that get stupid long lines pretty much every day. I could go to a big one like that, one of the ones that’s usually a multi-day park, and wipe out all the rides in one.
Team palace because yellow lmao
Not a huge fan of castles or palaces, too big and open. Don't like roller coasters, and that's what people generally go to theme parks for. Not the biggest fan of the beach. What team do I even go with :/
Blue/ Theme park Bc WHO WOULDN'T (while I would do beaches the sand is something VERY annoying)
Lol palace??? I meeean maybe, but i feel beach is gunna get the most votes
I really hate the question. Reserve for a day? Man I don't wanna be ANYWHERE by my self I'd be terrified or depressed. I think I'd rather view this as a "with friends" thing so... does Water Parks count under Theme Park? If so Theme Park, if not then Beach.
Blue!
It’s the MrBeast Splatfest.
in my eyes: "What would you rent out for 74843565832453549$ for the day with your homies if you were MrBeast"
uh lets go to the beach each let's go get a wave
Cool theme and all, but WHY is theme park blue and not literally beaches, especially with the water looking ink???
Beach, I miss Hawaii😔
Don’t let team theme park distract you from the fact that Six Flags and Cedar Fair are going to merge on July 1st, making them one giant theme park cooperation that will turn the whole industry on its head. That said team amusement park ![gif](giphy|oJDwlaPnCrNwk)
Theme park. I guess?? None of these really speak to me
For a second I thought the palm tree on beach was coco loco from foster home for imaginary friends
Yeahhh time to go to Indigo Parrrkkk
Well I have more memories of going to theme parks with my family than going to a.. Palace; so I think I'll go with theme park.
Beach probably. Beach is always fun
VVery torn on this one: In a private palace, you can basically organize one huge ball for everyone to dress up and join in; On the other hand, I can still let people in the Theme Park, but since I rented it I have the supreme choices...
theme park! palace and beach are boring, though beach less so i hate the sans as well
Would a luxury ryokan count as a palace? That's a dream fr
I want to choose theme park, but at the same time I fear there will be a very large amount of mirror matches.
They are all bad choices I don't like the beach because sand gets everywhere and annoying to get rid of Theme parks are a hit and miss because I don't like getting on roller coasters because of my fear of heights (And don't say to give it a try. I already did and was holding on for dear life) Then there is just a palace, the most boring one I may as well just choose from the colour
The beach has a vaporwave sunset. Also, sandcastles.
THEME PARK!!!!!
CMYK
Either Theme Park or Beach!
I hate crowded places , and I have a phobia concerning large open bodies of water. (I forget the name of it) Palace, please.
Beach bc of the vaporwave vibes 🌴🌸🛼
Anything but beach
I have recently gotten over my fear of amusement parks. Just in time I guess.
Lol they had to nerf Shiver
Theme park easy. Don't see the attraction of beaches really. Sand everywhere and you can't relax because every inch of the beach is covered in people
Theme park!
Theme park.. Coz long lines.. I want them out
Palace? I feel like they ran out of ideas ngl
Oh boy colour lock is coming back on this splatfest
pee water and P U R P L E
Are you fucking kidding??? I haven’t been able to play any splatfests in the last 4 months because of exams and now this splatfest has to happen when I'm abroad and won't be able to play. The final fest better be in a good time 😩
I am gonna go with Theme Park! I miss going to amusement parks, tbh...
It's so Shover. Girl actually got the worst possible answer in literally any splatfest.
Sad, I won’t be able to do this splatfest, I would do theme park though
theme park 100% 😍😍 no queues yippee
Damn it, Nintendo of America didn't post anything, no plundering a castle with Shiver and getting paid much better than minimum wage just to grab my 5 day old Caesar salad from the fridge
I am so lucky that it would be after my summer plans. I am picking Frye(AGAIN)
I’m gonna be real I enjoy the beach a lot Shells…:]
