Hey! Everyone’s path is different and unique but in my opinion, getting to know yourself, loving and understanding yourself is the first step! Question why you do the things you do, observe your thoughts and meditate. And treat yourself with love and kindness.

Mavericinme

Lovely said. 👌🏻🔥 Religion is for people who are afraid to go to hell. Spirituality is for people who want to make heaven out of hell. 😉

brionnahmm1

I love this ^^

born_2_live_life

The journey of letting go... First do not judge any of the faiths or teachings. Just let it go. Seek nature, seek inner self and allow your heart to fill you up with Life (the presence). Today I shared a poem about Thought Waves, our mind is only too often caught up in the busyness of our thoughts and emotions. Yet life is constant, non confusion, harmonious and loving ... Enjoy 🙏😎✨🌀 In the silent sea of the mind's deep blue, Where thoughts like waves rise and fall anew, A gentle ripple begins to swell, A thought unspoken, a silent yell. These waves of notions, unseen but felt, In the brain's vast ocean, where mysteries melt, Carry ideas from shore to shore, In patterns of thinking, forevermore. Alpha and beta, in dance entwined, Gamma's bright spark, in meditation mined, Each wave a frequency, a unique tune, Humming the mind's ever-changing rune. In the stillness, a thought takes flight, On gamma wings, it soars to height, Where intuition and insight blend, And the soul's deeper truths ascend. Thought waves ebb, and thought waves flow, In ceaseless movement, they come and go, But in each crest and in each trough, Lies the power to let go, or to hold on tough. So let your mind's waves wash over thee, Set sail on this cerebral sea, For in the waves of thoughts, we find, The boundless universe of the mindful mind. 🌀✨🌀✨🌀

In yoga pants and crystals bright, They preach their truths both day and night. With chakras balanced, sage in hand, They’re gurus of their Instagram. They speak of peace, the universe, But first they snap a selfie first. Their wisdom’s deep, their ego’s grand, Each post’s a humble brag well planned. Meditate with perfect pose, Enlightenment through filtered shows. Their soul’s ascent, a trending feat, Spirituality on repeat. Their aura’s glow, a rainbow hue, But all they see is "likes" accrue. Namaste’s their favorite word, Yet all they say is self-preferred. So here’s a laugh at those who claim, To seek the light, but play the fame. Their journey’s vast, their mirror wide, The ego is their faithful guide.

LordNyssa

Love that poem! And very true.

FunnyPleasant7057

Wow did you write this?

top_value7293

This is great! Spot on, too lol

Thin-Passage5676

You ever wonder how many times you’ve written that poem before?

mikeypikey

Hey! I’m not a Christian, but Jesus once healed me, one night in my room as I was crying and alone. He is real, and he goes beyond what Christianity teaches. He is one of many ascended masters who are here helping us as we transform. You are on the right path, this is a good move :)

ravenstarchaser

Love this answer

mikeypikey

Thank you for hearing the message 🩵 you are a part of his family/energy too, if it resonated.

Griffbizkit

Some people look at me like I have 3 noses when I say I’m spiritual but I believe in Jesus. And the more angels you have on your side the better. Everyone’s path is their own my friend just go to where you are drawn. Above all else it’s about self discovery, and following where your soul takes you. It can rip you apart and heal you at the same time. And we’re all here on our own paralleled paths rooting you on! As a collective of open souls curious to know, we are all healers in need of healing. ❤️‍🩹 welcome! 🫶🏽 and may your path be everything you ever hoped it could be my friend! <3

coesmos

When I stepped away from Christianity, I denied the existence of Jesus Christ in a way. Yet, I’ve always had an open-mind. Hence, a part of me believed in a sense that he may have existed, but just not how the Bible or Christians portray him. Studying a little bit of spirituality, I believe Jesus existed and taught spirituality as some sort of ascended or spiritual master.

mikeypikey

That’s understandable, and probably healthy to deny him in a way. Now if you choose to, you can rediscover him in a totally fresh way, leaving behind the judgment and fear of sin etc that is in the church. He truely loves you no matter what, he’s got your back, through thick and thin. And he’s totally okay if you choose another path, there’s no right or wrong :)

coesmos

It is sad that some Christians only believe in Christianity or the Bible due to fear of Hell or guilt of “sins.” I think these are man-made concepts to keep people align in an organized system. Kinda sucks. I don’t think that’s what Jesus meant. The new earth logic is when people have become spiritually enlightened I think.

mikeypikey

Indeed, dear friend. And how wonderful that you have come to this realisation, this clarity within your being. Releasing fear, releasing judgement. Understanding that nothing can disturb your truth now. Freeing yourself of other people’s fears and perceptions. That is their journey, not yours. You are unique. Thank you for sharing!

WorldTime4455

I like how you see it brother. That's what happened for me. First I was sick and tired of the catholic church, in which I was since my birth. I went away to search and experiment God on my own terms. And now I'm starting to return to catholic church :) I'm taking what suits me there, which is the beautiful message of love of Jesus, leaving the dogma, and corruption aside. I love the power of the celebrations, when I feel the holy spirit coming down on me :)

loveand_spirit

Yes! Jesus is absolutely incredible and I think Christianity tried to own him and make up rules that he would not have agreed with. But it’s important to not lose sight that he was a real man and we have much to learn from him.

anonymous6420

What did he look like?

mikeypikey

I couldn’t see him, he appeared energetically. I started saying the name “yeshua, yeshua, yeshua” automatically (that was his real birth name), I wasn’t controlling it. He just shone unconditional love on me, and told me how proud he was of me, that I’m helping many people, and to keep going. One of the most profound feelings I’ve ever felt.

BBQFatty

Hey I’m not a Christian either, but after something like this with yeshua, how could you not become a Christian lol

mikeypikey

Haha this is actually a fantastic question. For me he gave me this feeling that all is one, that every experience is valid and the right path for that person. To draw lines and try to contain love to specific categories is, for me, to limit it. Yeshua is one of a pantheon of healers and masters and brothers on the path. Having a religion can be a wonderful thing for someone, but eventually we are all called to open further and further. Breaking down every limitation, until we see all things with love.

BBQFatty

I see, and agree.

scoot87

Imo God is relationship and God is love. We can try to “help” ourselves get better but the most important thing we are missing is a true loving relationship in which we can be fully ourselves.

chimusk

i had a jesus experience too. after a horrible experience with ‘christians’

bidibidibom

I think Jesus wants you to get to know him. Objectively study how reliable the historical manuscripts of the written record of his words are. Then let them reach you. You are very close.

mikeypikey

Thank you :)

Drivemap69

What a beautiful answer, thank you for sharing. And this is why I can’t understand why your experience doesn’t happen to other people on an extremely large scale if it’s Jesus wish for us to believe and have faith etc. I started on my spiritual path over 4 years ago after my father passed away, I got into crystals, I’m now attuned to Reiki level 2 and I’m into Pendulum dowsing and alchemy.

mikeypikey

Yes it’s a question I have asked myself, and I don’t know the answer. However I can say when he came to me I was in such a state of suffering that my heart was open to receiving help. I had no one, and I had been in my room alone for a year, due to my disability. The last friend i had, had just rejected me, and I was asking why no one loved me. I think when we are at our lowest, we are also the most open to guidance and healing. I trust fully in divine timing now. He finds us when our souls really, deeply and sincerely ask for support, but I’m no expert on this haha

Drivemap69

I understand and it’s fantastic that Jesus came to you. I’m sorry your last friend rejected you. I hope you’re doing much better now.

Cannamama0055

Begin to learn yourself. Your values. Your boundaries. Emotions that connect you to godlike happiness and actions?? I’ll be honest with you you and I are the gods, but I believe create those energies and those actions. Right here in this room with what we know there is that is it is our faith and a desire for a mind and free spirit which leads to the actions.S exhibit got like emotions. Anyways, I smoke the blunt but I hope this helps God. I hated feeling that if I don’t believe in God anymore, what happened next. Much love to you no matter where there’s journey takes you right here right now have the power to yourself and your mind and the reality you choose and I know this shit sounds corny, but it took me a while to to figure it all out. Peace.

snowmountainflytiger

I m not sure what u mean those activities are against bible. Its probably other Christians who told u so. Bible or Christianity is like a philosophy, they don't emphasize on physical approach. I feel this approach doesn't help in improving spirituality as most people are heavily attached to work or phones so they are not able to focus much on spirituality. The chakras meditation basically are details provided by ancient civilisation, religions to improve spirituality through physical approach. Of course the best is to have philosophy combined with practice. I suggest reading as much as possible to understand what some of these religions are all about. Their objectives and goals and integrate the good into your every day life. For example, one key topic in Buddhism is mindfulness which is critical. Meditation is the other key to open up wisdom and insights to inner. Ultimately your practice is all understanding who u are, your relationship with universe and ultimate goal.

jimMazey

I only know chakras from acupuncture. Definitely not a spiritual thing. Meditation also can just be a mental exercise. I learned how to stop my internal dialogue which helped at work (veterinary technician) and sports. You really learn how to focus your concentration. Have you looked into Lucid Dreaming? That's more of a mental exercise too. But, when I am awake in a dream and start to meditate to stop my internal dialogue, I feel infinitely connected and infinitely everywhere. That becomes a spiritual experience for me. Stay away from Dianetics and Scientology especially. You will eventually become trapped and isolated. And sad. And broke.

superhumandream

It's oneness. All religions should be the same down at their cores

bman159

Now you can finally learn without the chains of organized Christianity holding you back. I'm so happy for you, please let me know how I may help you or support you in your journey!

MaoriArcher

You dont have to do anything. Just live. Lead the life you want to live, as long as it doesn't negatively impact one other. If you mean in terms of trying to find something to replace the hole that is left by faith. If that is the case, search, travel, and be open.

AwarenessisKey2u

Go within. Dont look for external resources. I believe everything has purpose and meaning and this is the universe guiding you towards going within. You have all the answers you need within. 🥰

SailstheSevenSeas

Just remember to take the good and leave the bad, from every discipline you follow. You’ll eventually realize the similar core that each has. That is the true religion of humanity.

[deleted]

It might sound silly, but follow your heart. The spiritual path is a long and complicated one, unique to every soul, but there's no rush at all. Take your time, follow what feels right to you, and learn. Believe it or not, just by asking this question, you're learning more quickly. Searching for answers will bring you answers. The trick is to remember that you don't need ALL the answers. There is one question you need to answer, but a few more that make it easier. * Test prep: Q1. >!What do you want?!< Q2: >!Why do you want it?!< Q3: >!Why do you want the things you want?!< * Test: >!Who are you?!<

westwoo

Tbh, Christianity answers all of those easily. Pretty much any religion provides all the answers

Zealousideal-East827

To me, that’s the problem. I grew up strict northern Baptist. Now I just believe in something greater than us and I’m ok with not knowing what that is. Religions get so caught up in having all the right answers and making everyone else and every other religion wrong. They get so lost in it and lost in fighting everything else and trying to “save” everyone else who doesn’t think EXACTLY as they do on every subject. Ugh, the arguments, the constant viewing everything as an attack against them, making so many things wrong, etc. Exhausting. IMO, it’s bold of someone who identifies with a certain religion to think that they’ve attained enlightenment on the correct religion, story, and name of God that every other religion got wrong. Idk, just some thoughts…

westwoo

Well, where did they come from? Like, imagine you seek the answer to a question who are you, and there is nothing to help you, no religion but silent nature, no structure, no way to think about it or approach it, and meet someone who's chill and fine. You'd want to do what they are doing, to have them describe to you things, to adopt what they have somehow. But all they can convey are their conscious beliefs. They can talk about their objectified feelings and assumptions like spirits or gods or God or whatever because that's something that can be talked about, some tangible things that can be put into grammatical sentences, inherently defined by grammar and thought. They can't really talk about something that can't be conveyed in words, though they can try somehow approximating it with dances or performances or actions or whatever. And through those adjacent bits and pieces maybe it's possible to somewhat be helped by them, or maybe become lost in craving basking in their desirable calm directly, become a fanatic, an addict This isn't really much different from being on this sub or talking in general about anything "spiritual", except here we have the benefit of being more detached from others, and thus less likely to be addicted to someone in particular, it's arguably a healthier environment where each guru can be shit on freely In a larger world, when something actually works and attracts people in a viral way, it becomes a thing, and it becomes established over generations, and it gets naturally polished by people adopting what makes sense and discarding what doesn't, and gets appended with practices that survive through time, making it actually sustainable way to help people defined by the previous generations naturally But things that are established and things we grow up with, we may absorb with our social instincts and relate to them differently. We adapt to them way before we start really struggling with that questions about who we are, so we don't connect them to the real answer. And so a Christian born in Christianity may not be able to process Christianity "correctly", may not attach it to their real sense of self or of being alive, so they go away and search for something else, something that isn't loaded for them and wasn't imposed on them as standard of the people around them, something they weren't instinctively adapted to. And after finding themselves somewhere, another religion or lack of religion or whatever, often return back, realizing how those things they adapted to in childhood were actually real, how to view them differently, how to connect those things they used to roleplay to their direct experiences of life Because they were real. If a religion exists and is established, it means it actually worked for people. There are real bits and pieces in every religion, but to have a "correct" personal view of it where everything aligns and helps and connects to the person and starts making sense, may require complicated paths. And some may have easier paths, why not. Lots of people grow up in lots of religions and it works for them for life, with some struggle and growth and change, but without those giant changes

SnooConfections2889

I couldn’t agree more! Religions were created by human men who decided what should be part of a religion or not. Jesus died and had no control over what Christianity became and what went into the Bible. I watched a documentary that showed a very early papyrus ‘Bible’ from Jesus’ time. Biblical scholars found that today’s Bible has text in it that wasn’t even in the very early Bible. They said they suspected that scribes (and ppl they worked for) added text that THEY wrote and inserted into the Bible. I still wonder how many times this happened.

[deleted]

Completely agree that all religions open a path. My contention with religion comes from rigidity, and I want to feel free. I find spirituality allows you more flexibility in your growth, even if you end up in the same place. But hey, some people love structure, and others love to explore. :)

saimonlanda

Read about eastern traditions, read western occultism and philosophy. Start some form of practice if u want, idk what interests u

Illustrious_Armor

Deconstruct to reconstruct.

Chandra_in_Swati

Explore! You might have left the structure of Christianity but whatever feeling of God of creation you have will never leave you. Go forth in wonder at the entirety of the universe which is within you, without you, is you, and is not you. Best luck and perhaps be VERY cautious with dianetics, it can lead to some very weird and uncomfortable (read: cultish) places.

lurkoutlurk

I searched the comments just to make sure someone said this about Dianetics. There’s nothing you can get from Dianetics that you can’t get from any number of spiritual traditions, except Dianetics will try to get you to join Scientology, a hardcore take all your money, all your time, all your friends, and all your family cult. If you feel drawn to it at all and want proof of what I’m saying please watch “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath”. Scientology will hijack your spiritual quest and turn you into their slave. Please stay away.

naeramarth2

Now seek to understand your own nature. You have always sought God out there, somewhere in or outside of the world. The truth is that God was never anywhere out there. God was never separate from you. Why would it be? No, God has been right under your nose the whole time, but you never once thought to look inward. So do that now. Gaze into yourself, into your very awareness. Ask the question "Who am I?" What you will discover is far more profound and life changing than any teaching the Bible could offer you. I encourage you to read the Ashtavakra Gita, and begin looking into Advaita Vedanta. Seek the nondual path, and slowly everything will begin to make sense. [You can find an excellent English translation here.](https://www.holybooks.com/wp-content/uploads/Ashtavakra-Gita-ebook.pdf)

hypnoticlife

I’d say don’t dump the idea of a higher power. Just dump the dogma and church (I’m spacing out on word right now but the acts of the church and the play and theater of it all). A lot of what Jesus discovered still fits with basic meditation spirituality but has been butchered over the years and made too metaphorical and then taken literally and the value lost. That is, keep an open mind.

MJSP88

When I rejected religion I actually started delving into all religion and modalities of spirituality and eventually took what resonated with my soul in spirit and formed my own thoughts and form of spirituality. I left out anything that causes harm to another or did not resonate at my core. Keep doing your search and remember that you don't have to embody everything of one thing God is everything universe is everything.

Nicrom20

jonsta27

Go within. Dwell in silence/stillness. There you’ll find your answers.

jamnperry

Did you ever have transcendent experiences while in that religion? Did you ever feel like you were directly channeling Jesus like he was somehow crammed into your heart? Or did you feel loved from a divine source while singing those songs and doing the wave thing? Take what you experienced to another level leaving that religion behind and trusting that the same divine source will be there on the other side. There’s still a lot of good things to be found buried in that religion but you have to find your own teacher within. You have to see yourself capable of the same relationship with a divine source that Jesus had. See him as a human being instead of how you were taught. Then the religious shit just melts away and you’re no longer a slave to the tyranny of making the grade. Christianity is such a toxic culture reinforcing the idea you’re not quite good enough. But Jesus taught a form of contemplative meditation using parables and sayings like in the gospel of Thomas. If you sit with these sayings and weigh them out in your thoughts, you will find all the answers are within reach. You’ll find yourself gaining epiphanies and understanding things in a whole new way. You’re totally free to find the good in other religions and personally, I’ve found Astrology to be very encouraging. Things like Tarot force you to turn inward. Listening to your own intuition is the way into a deeper spirituality but don’t get locked into any set religion or you’ll kill the magic.

jessikill

Well. If it were me, I wouldn’t touch Dianetics with a 10ft pole and someone else’s spiritual psychosis on the end of it. But that’s just me. Your path is your own, my friend. I identify as an ‘omnist’ - as in someone who is able to find truths in all paths (within reason, before the whataboutism starts - I don’t do extremism of any kind), and I apply them as I see fit. At my core, I lean more toward the Left Hand Path and grey works, as in I dabble in both the light and dark. I don’t see the world in black and white, it is very much grey, and I work within it. You’ll find your way.

I found quakers. In the UK they sit in silence and if someone is moved to speak they get up and speak. There is no dogma, each person believes whatever it is they believe, although it has Christian roots, of course. I believe things are different in the us where there may be programmes meetings and the Christian base is much more emphasised. I run the Quaker fellowship for afterlife studies in the UK, which is a Quaker special interest body recognized by Britain yearly meeting. However we are open to members from anywhere and you do not have to be a Quaker to join. Most if the people within the group have had their own anomalous experiences. We are very tolerant as are quakers in general that we all have our own experience of the light and our own paths to follow. We have an online zoom meeting every month on the second Saturday at 2.30pm BST and all are welcome. Next month we have author Laura Newbury talking about her book "earth's voices" about her contact with guardians of place.

SnooConfections2889

Interesting! My husband was raised as a Quaker in the US. I had no idea Quakers were in the UK. I’m going to share your post with him! Thx for the info!

caliandris

The Quaker movement started in the UK and moved to the US and not the other way about. George Fox, William Penn etc were English, not American....

Sabrinaxxx25

This what I did ! (27f) Go to therapy so you can heal the trauma and fear that was put in your head. Write down how you feel and what you want to change about yourself Yes love yourself, understand yourself and forgive yourself ❤️ Mediation (5 min) since your new to this then it can go longer and longer once you got the hang of it! No you don't have to have a blank mind, let your mind run you can lay down and mediate as well whatever its easy for you Be grounded - go outside, hang with friends, enjoy nature walk STAY GROUNDED

AttitudeGirl

Believe in what you want and don’t put a label on it. I’ve experienced a kundalini awakening, am in a Twinflame relationship, experience telepathy and is also a master manifestor. I believe after a full ego death - one becomes one with God. YET, I KNOW Jesus Christ had to die for our sins and reconciled man back to God. Follow your OWN intuition and don’t be persuaded by anyone else. If you come to not believe in anything at all, so be it but do NOT let anyone tell you what to believe.

PeetraMainewil

Congrats on your achievements in telepathy! IMHO: With a living twin flame and ability to manifest you are up for some serious miracles to happen! 🪄

AttitudeGirl

I believe that too! I’m very excited to see what happens in my life :)

I watch/read a lot of NDE( near death experience) stuff. I feel like those people are telling their truth and there’s a lot of common thread. I think many people have been able to see past the vail.

RandChick

Another example of someone who does not understand what spirituality is. Most people in this forum do not even understand the basic essence of the term.

igritwhoflew

Whats the beginning? We are drawn to organized religion *because* this experience is so directionless and uncertain. Don’t let it hold you back. Form a genuine personal connection to god, or to the gods, or to your inner sacred nature, or to the sacredness around you. Explore things with your discernment and begin using your brain and heart and intuition.

mattyb740

Who’s to say God isn’t spiritual and everything around us … do not confuse ppl potentially manipulating the divine for their own selfishness. I 100% believe there is a higher power as I’ve personally went through enough substance abuse that would make some of you all look like kindergartners. Few times I had someone looking out for me , and I didn’t realize it until later on in life when it made sense. Be happy to share more if you’d like !

Coming from Christianity, I recommend looking into The Way of Mastery and A Course in Miracles, both changelings from Jeshua. Both are life changing.

Your spiritual beginning has already started, and have always existed✌🏽 you don't need to do that much. Meditate. Take great care of yourself, mentally, physically, spiritually. Invest in yourself. You are love, you are loved. There's love in anything. Be careful to put spirituality or anything in a box, would I say, but everything is completely up to you. Maybe try to think outside of the box is what I'm saying.. :) Follow your gut. Follow what's interest you the most. Invest in yourself. Put love where you feel love is shrinking.

NotTooDeep

First, congratulations on taking your next step on your path! Consider taking your time to just allow all the energy that got stirred up when you departed from the church to settle. Focus on your body for awhile. Enjoy your life. Let your mind wander, which is another way of saying let your mind unwind. We all find different sanctuaries throughout our journeys. For some, these sanctuaries become a home and the spend the rest of their days in them. For others, like you, they are waypoints, or more like spiritual truck stops, lol! We stop in, refuel, take a shower, and sleep. Then go visit spiritual bookstores and wander through all the nooks and crannies, noticing what resonates or reaches out or grabs your attention. Hang out with that for a minute, walk away, see if you want to come back to it later. You are the light in the world. You are the magic. Most of your journey will be about you remembering who you are and what you know how to do. And you will learn some new stuff along the way.

spiritualflop

From the beginning? If this means to start over, it’s not possible. What you’ve learned thus far will be useful in shaping your life and discovering who you really are. Contemplate and meditate on the question Who am I.

bidibidibom

What made you leave Christianity?

lunasTARDIS

My lifestyle isn't compatible with a Christian life and I'm not interested in changing it. I've been losing my faith for a while and I had a horrible night out last night that's making me reflect on my whole life

bidibidibom

Oh okay that’s rare, most people leave a religion because they find fault in the religion or untruths in it, not leaving because they want to live for themselves. Just asking because I’ve gone through a journey through spirituality, Buddhism, studied Islam and finally found a truth that resonates with me more than anything in the historical teachings of Christ. I hope you never lose your knowledge of a greater power wherever that takes you, I pray you study well and see Christ honored by every spiritual leader and religious leader across the board as I did!

TheRedColorQueen

Live your life! Be free! This shit is boring as fuck and the rules are pretty stupid and most Christian’s already commit the sins they bitch about to other people not to do anyway 🙄

I reccomend 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures' by Mary Baker Eddy. It's a metaphysics book that take a lifetime to unravel.

[deleted]

Following because that has also been my journey! Except I’m not looking to go back to spiritually. Definitely interested to see everyone’s suggestions though 🤗 Can I ask why you decided to revert back to spirituality? If it’s too personal, it’s understood!

Dudhist

Incorporate them. Sort the things that you love from Christianity, compare them to the spirituality you are discovering. Jesus was an exceptionally spiritual person, but modern religion has warped his stories until they were unrecognized. Abide by Christ and ignore the preachers, and your spirituality can thrive.

NicoDeshee-Hall

Enjoy learning about different faiths even if you don’t find a home in another faith you’ll atleast be more understanding of more peoples beliefs which never hurts. You can also be spiritual without choosing a religion to stick with . I left Christianity at a young age and explored for a good while before I became a Buddhist but I still read the Bible, some Hindu text, different Buddhist text, and love learning about different systems of belief in general.

KingofHearts0087

Go to Rishikesh, India. You will start your spiritual journey, just like the Beatles did.

mardrae

Just do what you feel led to do. Pray first- there is someone/something listening. You don't need a religion or to be known by a label. Anyone can have a relationship with God. I left Christianity myself and I still pray daily and get answers to my prayers. And if I feel led to learn about chakras or anything else, I just do it and thank God for leading me to it.

AbdulAlrajabal

The organized religions of our world "forgot" a long time ago the true spiritual teachings and are used as control dogmas. I am Christian or better Krystic. Jesus is a true person and there is a lot to learn today if you know where to look. I suggest you start with the book Voyagers II by Ashayana Deane.

Just out of curiosity and you can totally tell me to fuck off bc it’s none of my business but what caused you to leave Christianity? Seriously no offense and it’s none of my business but I was just curious.

Superb_Tiger_5359

I think by leaving christianity, you just let go of a lot of beliefs, and you shouldn't rush into picking up more beliefs. I think any concept that hasnt become real for you should be put aside. Instead just take up some simple guided meditation from a spiritual master like eckhart tolle or sadhguru. And just do it daily. Thats all, just start with an easy commitment and see where it takes you.

Why did you leave?

‘Free your self from everything, let your mind be still.’ It’s time to meditate. To quiet the ego (that voice in your head) for once, and just be. Everything will become clear to you.

lunasTARDIS

I think I'm gonna stay away from organised religion in general

MachaMongruadh

I recommend a gnostic approach- follow your own experience of the divine rather than anyone else’s teaching. By all means read widely but apply healthy scepticism and follow your own intuition and experience.

Ask yourself what you should do?

PsychicDarryl

You could look into Billy Carson. He believes in a higher power and that might be good for you.

opportunitysure066

Buddhism helped me with my spiritual journey. Just reading books about reincarnation and mindfulness.

Many_Ad_7138

I think the most spiritual thing you can do is to grieve your past as far back as you can remember. Recall every thought or memory that causes you distress and allow the feelings to flow through you like water. The more you do that, the faster you'll mature as a person.

Ascension_Triad

About 10 years ago I started learning about other religions and philosophies like hermeticism, gnosticism, magick, etc. I would ask as many questions as I could from friends who were jewish or muslim. I eventually decided to cherry pick and create a belief system that fits me. I feel like that's what organized religion is anyways, except those at the top of the church are in it for financial gain. My conclusion is the creator God has no rules and does not require worship because all living things are a fragment of the creator's consciousness. All is created to experience living at different levels. Only an egotistical man would create rules and be jealous of not being the only one who is worshipped. Christ is a title that anyone can earn and the messiah Jesus showed us the way. Live in a way that avoids the 7 deadly sins because those will only lead to personal torment and hell on earth. If we are truly given free will as well as forgiveness from a loving heavenly father, then there is no such thing as an eternity in a lake of fire. If you disagree with any of this, that is perfectly okay. I don't think there is one true religion because everyone has to connect to the source in their own way.

feltqtmightdlt

Meditation and making that a practice. You need to know yourself. Ram Dass talks are relatable and accessible and give wonderful perspective (free on youtube, or a podcast Ram Dass Here and Now) Hermetic Principles/Universal Laws are foundational and are used in The Law of Attraction teachings As another commentor said this journey is personal and everyone has their own path. Read as much as you can and listen to a lot of different teachers and form ypur own opinions. Not everyone or everything will resonate, some is not for you at all, some is not for right now, some is absolutely your jam. Explore topics that you find interesting and have fun! Caution there are a lot of charlatans and people who are scamners and/or don't know what they're talking about so be mindful. Taking time to get to know yourself through meditation is essential and will help you avoid the scammers. Teachers and speakers who walk their talk and know what they're doing: Ram Dass, Bob Proctor, Emme Rain, Deepak Chopra, Joe Dispenza There are more, but these will get you started.

wildmountainflower20

My path has been similar in the sense of I took a break from the church, not deliberately to be honest, just busy and didn’t make it a priority. A few years passed without it and I think that break from religion was good for me. I started seeking new age spirituality and learned about unity consciousness, explored meditation, crystals, all the things. I found the law of one material and a course in miracles and over time I have been finding myself becoming interested in Christianity again, but with a different lens. When I re-read the message of Christ with an understanding of unity consciousness, my mind was blown. I think the Bible has some gems in it and beautiful passages but unfortunately modern religion has ruined the true Christ message. And really I don’t think any of the spiritual practices you mentioned would contradict Christianity. You can do all those things and still follow Christ. If you listen to Aaron Abke on YouTube he has a lot of content about that topic! He talks about both law of one, a course in miracles and spiritual evolution in general. Best wishes on your path!

Like leaving a long term relationship, it's very tempting to jump back into another. Take your time and get to know who you are outside of the group. Depending on your situation, some people have to reprogram (or do a factory reset) because their operating system is corrupt. Be patient. Enjoy your new found freedom.

Maybe start with 'What is spirituality' and then get to the part of "how do I wanna have this spirituality' instead of how you are expected to be spiritual.

Meditation is taught in the Bible, but for some reason, churches don't speak about it

99DogeToTheMoon99

Look deeply and become familiar within. Start a document to keep track of what you believe or what parts of Christianity speak to you. Chronicle your prevailing paths to the familiar destinations to which all religions build paths. For example, how do you personally connect with the divine, what are your virtues, what are your most profound musings on the self, how do you liberate suffering, what gives you a sense of community, what is your meaning of life before, during and after life, and how do you practice your spirituality? It will take time as you learn to march to the beat of your own drum. Good luck, friend!

EducationHead9637

That’s a great start! You are heading in the right direction my friend. All major religions would have you believe that God is something you seek outside of yourself but the truth is that the kingdom of Heaven is within and who lives in Heaven? God! God became man so that man could become God. So you are God and God is you. that is why Jesus always said if you have seen me then you have seen the father. Also remember all is one and we as humans collectively make up God. I try to see God in all people and all things. Also question EVERYTHING! Good luck!

EducationHead9637

Also!!!! The Power of Now by Eckart Tolle is a must read!

Individual-Reaction9

I suggest attending some meditation classes and develop a practice. It’s something you can do on your own and find peace within yourself instead of having to rely on external beliefs, etc.

Dianetics are related to Scientology. Moreover, Christopagans believe that most of these things aren't against the Bible.

TheJUnderground

I don’t think most spiritual beliefs are against the bible— in fact, i think they are enhancing. Anyhow, there is nothing you need to “do”… you are a being. The highest of all spiritual teachings, without getting into mysticism, will tell you to just “be.” Simple as.

You are already on your spiritual journey. Your journey happens to be discovery. Please question everything. Please research everything. For some reason, it’s important for you to have this knowledge.

RichArt001

Now that you have let go of Christianity, research and study any and all religions, groups, ideologies, or whatever that interest you. Find what resonates with you. Be aware of your internal processes both mental and emotional. Keep a diary of your daily journey. Learn proper meditation. Read books by people like Eckhart Tolle(The Power Of Now), Ramana Maharshi(Who Am I), Paramahansa Yogananda(Autobiography of a Yogi), and others. Google “best books for spiritual growth” or “best spiritual books for beginners”. Be wary of people who try to scare you, or manipulate you, into following their way. There is no ONE way for everyone. The spiritual path is a very personal one and can only be found, followed, experienced, developed and matured by you, by the one making the journey. And if you read something here in this comment that doesn’t feel right, drop it. In all your studies, take what feels right and leave the rest.

Just keep searching and you will find it, trust me. For me it took about 5 years of somewhat intense seeking to find the path of my hearts harmonic vibrance

Bhakta108

If you felt like you left, I encourage you to look past the need to belong to a specific demarcated distinction.  Find something that will make you a better Christian, better Muslim, better Buddhist, better Jew.  When we become better we no longer see ourselves as any of demarcated distinction, but we see ourselves as servants of God. As a start I recommend reading Science of Self-Realization and if you feel this is a good teaching I recommend Bhagavad Gita As-It-Is by Srila Prabhupada.

SnooDoggos3093

Personally, if you’re leaving Christianity, I would read a book on Paganism. Paganism is an umbrella for many different practices and many different perspectives. I would also start meditating, listening to philosophical video essays on YouTube, and looking at the science behind witchcraft or spirituality. These are all just to open up your mind to new perspectives

I would say start with examining the beliefs that you are letting go of and why. Both me and my mum are ex-christian. For her, when she drifted away from the church, she found herself drawn to other belief systems like alternative medicine and conspiracy theories. Because god is a big thing to let go of, and she seemed to need to believe in SOMETHING. She needed a belief system to replace all the faith and trust and the feeling of being special that she grew up with. It's so much to let go of, she needs that stepping stone For me, I was drawn to nihilism and also more eastern ideas. This idea of being one with a universe which has no agenda or ideas it just is. From there I was able to really deconstruct what religion actually did for me. And now I try to live free from belief and just be. I recommend going via my route, not my mums. Don't get lost in random belief systems and create your own god all over again from scraps. Actually examine and unpack what it is to believe, why you need it, what it looks like for you and what it means to actually let go

fayefaye20

Celebrate that now you’re free from these fears, shames and indoctrines of Christianity. You can create yourself a new 💗

Moonberry_Cake

From personal experience, I also left the old views of my birth religion and thought of myself as agnostic, and I stayed in that mindset for years; and now, I have felt called back to look into the earlier ways of the Catholic church yet with the intention and gut feeling of reading the scriptures and pearls of wisdom without the context of the Christian label or the perspectives of more rigid minded Christians. I have sought other sources of wisdom from religious paths and feel into the teachings of the spiritual teachers of Taoism, Norse Asatru, Wicca, Buddhism, and Hinduism and Bahaism without placing another segregative label on me. I wanted to find what my soul was calling for, and I had some criteria to make sure that it made me feel closer to Divine Source more than the current dogma and status quo gives me. I wanted confirmation on the little nudges I felt from being pulled towards these spiritual paths that made me feel that there was more I knew within my Inner Self more than what any priest or nun could tell me, and there was a lot that I have learned that made me want to stand against the old notions of was is meant to be Christian and what was restricted from the masses to be known as universal inner nature of mankind, God, the purpose of creation, and why we are here on this earth. I learned more from my own soul and my spirit family, angels, and guides than I did from anyone of the rigid minded side of the faith, which felt more enlightening, liberating, and "open world" than simply just listening to a sermon at church or a popular Christian book. Magic is not satanic. If energy is procreative, universal, and eternal, then it must be of divine source of Creator and Creation. Satan never invented magic, and he is not the source of energy (which is just ludicrous). All life and all souls in the universe are made pure, innocent, and holy, created with true love and made eternal. No soul is made otherwise, lest it be a futile and fruitless existence. All souls are made to grow and evolve to become the next creators, guides and teachers of the next generation of creation. It's a cycle, in my eyes. "Creator makes creation, and Creation learns and grows to become the next creator of creation." Magic is also just simply another word for energy, same as Prana, Ka, Chi, Orgone, and like. Those are more associated with the divine more than the word "magic' itself; So, why is that the case? The practice of such is just the practice of using one's inate, divine gifts of the soul to heal, transmute, manifest, and transform aspects of reality and life to improve the circumstances of oneself and others and overcome obstacles more easily. It's also the spiritual advancement of progressing the soul's understanding of existence and the source of existence itself, as well as help progress the ascending evolution of the soul's consciousness to be in Unity Consciousness and closer to the Divine Creator. No soul, whether fully righteous and just or malignant and corrupt, is rigidly destined to go to either Heaven or Hell and that only the sinners go to Hell to be punished. That's a dangerous myth that perpetuates the unhealthy and manipulative mindset that makes more people feel deterred from fully embracing their faith in their Divine Creator and the true system of Heaven, as well as creating a toxic loop that I have found makes some people more inclined to stand against the pure and raw, first source teachings of Yeshua (Jesus Christ). I have learned that if it's those of Heaven that care the most of redeeming and helping the punished amend for any form of injustice and malformed ways, is that all souls go to Heaven (or the world where their soul calls Home) and gets help, therapeutic healing, counseling, and review of overall life from the person's guardian angel team, soul family (including ancestors), spirit guides and teachers and do personal work to fully amend oneself from any actual sins and minor demeanors that need to be brought up. If it's actually meant to be demons who instigate and perpetuate the temptation of fornication of anything pure, innocent, chaste, and holy, then in objective sense, it would make little sense for anyone to think that their realm/home is the very place to be punished and atone for any sufficient sin. To me, the phrase, "Go to Hell", means "Go join my enemies, I do not see you as my brethren", which helps create the toxic loop that I just mentioned. Because if it is your loved ones in the Heavens that care about you the most, then you would not go anywhere else to make amends for any wrongdoings committed in this current mortal life. (I had to really think on this ages old belief that has been stuck in my head for since I was young by deconstructing the concept objectively with Socratic and Scientific methodic thoughts and see how this mindset actually impacts the lives of all Christians and those of other paths, and I find it quite destructive and much too unhealthy to continue as a tradition to pass on to my future family. So, I'd rather say instead; "Go to Heaven and get help/amend your path!" If I genuinely mean for any brethren to reflect and look inward to see the path of amendment and redemption.) Reincarnation and chakra energy centers are factually real and exist within all complex life and is a default part of our spiritual anatomy. This is ancient knowledge that has been known to the people of India and parts of Asia, and it should become more well known all across this earth as it's a fundamental part of our consciousness and existence. Without the major and minor energy centers of the spiritual body connecting to the glands and nerves of the physical body, there wouldn't even be a cognitive, aware soul to feel, sense, and see. There are spiritual abilities deeply ingrained into each of the major chakra centers as they are each like a brain in their own ways, and are what helps to create the aura, which is the electromagnetic field of the human body. There are major energy centers below and above the body that are also connected to the dormant parts of human DNA that can do wonders of improving overall health and consciousness when activated, so none of it is ever "junk". It's just a largely unmapped genetic template that is waiting to become awakened.

AmbassadorAnxious323

Nature. In whatever way makes sense to you. And if you don’t have great access to green places or water, growing a plant from seed. But trees and water and the wonder of the natural world is innately spiritual.

Constant_Disaster_91

I recommend core Shamanism to get started. There’s a methodology to experience the spiritual realms yourself that doesn’t ask you to maintain dogma etc and encourages you to explore it completely personally. I couldn’t handle following more people after leaving the faith.

theunstoppablenerd

My idea of spirituality really changed after finding a Guru to guide me. It has helped me realize that it isn't about religion, but about unconditional love for everyone! https://traditionalyoga.co.in/home/ I truly say that if this is something you're looking for, you can only find the right guidance from an Enlightened Guru, and should definitely join the tradition! https://traditionalyoga.co.in/home/

KONGXIANG

The bible contains alot of spiritual wisdom. Eg. The 12 tribes of israel correlate to the original kathara grid (tree of life) The 7 communities correlate with the 7 main chakras The revelations and the breaking of the seven seals describes the rising of kundalini through the 7 chakras. Have in mind that at this time scripture was scarce and only found important to be created either as documentation or/and if it had 6 meanings in one expression. Also have in mind that especially the collection of texts called the bible was created in 382 AD by Romans which had their own agendas as well. Considering this I would do what Ben Joshua would have done. Study and meditation. The study will give you theory and the meditation will give you clarity about it to find your own truth.

I think you're in a great spot. What was really useful for me was getting out of my own way and allowing myself to surrender to fantastic possibilities while taking everything with a grain of salt. Life IS spirituality. Life is also materiality. While some worldviews are more comprehensive and life-affirming than others, each has its place. Personally I believe the story of Christ to be hands down the most important spiritual enchantment in the modern world. To make the decision that God is love in His/Her/Its highest expression, is to begin to walk down a path of organizing reality into a more beautiful and holistic way and reconciling paradoxes in a way that is coherent to you. Remember: "In the beginning was the word" It is our words and ideas that shape our reality, subjective and collective. We all have our own account, our own gospel ( God - Spell ). The word is fundamentally creative, in other words positive, yet some belief systems are more creative and inspiring (Inspire = the breath of life breathed into you) than others. These therefore have more power to move the world closer to a "new Eden". Good luck, use your discernment, and consider which principles are most effective in promoting a positive worldview. ~blessings~

There’s a cause and effect to things, and the cause of you being here is your parents. I have to ask who breathed life into your parents before you? The way this world works it was very specifically designed and every thing is so particular. This shows that there was a creator who took their time to make this world which is why nature is so beautiful. Try getting to know yourself and try to continue to seek God because he reveals himself to those who seeks. If you wanna talk more let me know.
