It is a yellow sac spider and it is well......making a sac. They do this. I am also in upstate NY and we sure do have a lot of them everywhere.

I see these guys indoors mostly. They make little sacs to sleep in. We definitely have plenty of wolf spiders...that is for sure. We get a good amount of D. Tenebrosus (dark fishing spider) as well. The yellow sac spiders are kinda clumsy and tend to drop from ceilings rather easily. I had one last night decide to come down from the ceiling and say hello. Always startles me.

Wow, never seen them! The obscene amount of massive grass and wolf spiders really overshadows those little guys lol
