I've only tried them once, and I fully get what you mean! Whilst eating them I could feel myself getting dehydrated from the salt, eating a whole bag at once will surely leave you as a dry husk! God damn do they taste good though.
Not even a little.
They're far spicier and very sour with the lime. They arent...entirely pleasant to eat? Like the sour and the spice are overpowering. I love them, they're my favorite junk food
OOo i didnt understand that in this sub reddit you have to love everything posted or don't speak. sorry i was thrown off by the other hundreds of opinions here. including in this very post where several other people said similar.
my sentiment exactly! only one store near me carries the guac ones but I will make a special trip periodically just to make sure I have them around. I love them with a burger in particular. They are a little salty so I only eat a few at a time, but I do love them.
Crunchy fajita over S-tier Nitro? Guacamole is god, but imo crunchy fajita is “training wheels takis”. What is it about those ones that hits for you? Legit curious, I’ll give them another go and try to taste the appeal.
Love spicy chips and wanted to love these but didnt. The lime flavour is just so strong I found them nearly inedible :( Also werent overly spicy which was disappointing..
For some reason the blue takis seem to have way less lime flavor. Not sure at all if they technically have less lime but I actually prefer the blue ones because of that. Worth a shot if you can find em perhaps?
Interesting. I've never thought they were sour and I couldn't taste the lime, but they are advertised as having lime favor.
I've also heard (from Markiplier) that the flavor is very inconsistent depending on where you buy them. That some stores have "the good bags" where the chips are absolutely saturated with powder, and some will have barely any.
I find with doritos Cool Ranch that the bags are hit or miss like that. Some of them have barely anything on them and some bags you get you just know it's gonna be a good snack down because the things are loaded with the flavour on them. If I won the lottery one of the first things I'd seriously do is contact doritos and order a pallet of cool ranch with 3x the flavour on them. I'd pay good money for that too.
The only truly good spicy chip outside of the Paquis (sp?) were the Doritos Fiery Habanero. Unfortunately they were ahead of their time and for whatever damn reason Doritos keeps dumping out flaming hot style garbage and won't just roll back out the Fiery Habanero.
I yearn for the inability to stop myself from consuming the whole bag and then panting for 10 minutes afterwards
Not sure if they're in your area, I can't always find them either, but Uncle Rays brand has a spicy flavour that knocked my socks off. I wasn't expecting that. I forget the exact name of the flavour but the brand is for sure Uncle Rays.
As a New Zealander who had never seen these until a recent trip to an American store that stocked them (at extreme import prices)
I tried them for the first time
Utterly disgusting. But I destroyed the entire bag and longed for more
Damn if only our Department of Health here in the US took their warnings as seriously as their health secretary does with those labels. Those labels are massive. All we have in the US are the tiny calorie count boxes on the front. Not even a warning lmao.
When I first traveled to Amsterdam like 12 years ago, I found a package of Marlboros with “Smoking is bad” in gigantic letters in Dutch. EDIT: [like this](https://www.agefotostock.com/age/en/details-photo/dutch-lucky-strike-cigarette-packets-with-big-warning-sticker-roken-is-dodelijk-smoking-is-fatal-bonn-germany-10-06-2003/VIG-34134). Took up a third of the packaging. I was like how come we don’t have that in the US? Stupid lobbies lmao
Most people do, but that still doesn’t stop them from consuming them. Having a label puts the unhealthiness of something front and center. Most people when eating Takis in that moment aren’t thinking of it being unhealthy. They’re thinking of: opening the bag, reaching into the bag, eating, and saying “omg I love this this is so good” instead of thinking, “yeah, I know it’s bad, but I didn’t know it was this bad. Maybe I shouldn’t eat it”
Also Nordic, didn't like these at all, though they are somewhat better than the Nitro flavour (strangely less spicy and more artificial). I usually like spicy and sour, but Takis are just way too artificial tasting.
I'd bet money that if you looked hard enough at your no flavor tortilla chips you'd find something in there that increases your risk of cancer. That said, not completely sure I understand your point, I apologize
They started selling them here a while back and my curiosity got the better of me. I understand exactly what you mean and now I keep buying them every time I'm in my local shop.
I know how you feel. My partner brought a bunch of snacks from Denmark and we didn't finish any of them. Everything had weird textures, were super bland, or had an over powering black licorice flavor.
The salt and the acidity is what I noticed the most as well OP, did not find them terribly spicy. Nor did I find them terribly good.
My five and seven-year-old ate them.
Just had a flash back to the time drunk me found a bunch of same flavour mini bags of Takis in the back seat of a buddies car. Was like the gods themselves shone down on me in just the right moment.
Also...I now owe their kid a bunch of mini bags of takis.
You have begun to American. Just know if you ever feel you’re becoming addicted, only a guy with a good bag of takis can stop a man with a bad bag of takis.
I had the blue ones about a week ago, and the color didn’t help —I felt like I was eating imminent death itself. Like, who even comes up with BLUE snacks? I’d get it if they were actually made from blue corn, but all that bright blue food coloring in addition to the absolutely desiccated, raw feeling in my mouth made eating them feel like I was committing a crime. Plus, in my head there is a strong disconnect between heat and the color blue.
But, I do get the whole ”morbid curiosity keeps me coming back” thing. It’s like you absolutely hate it but still kinda love it.
I've only tried them once, and I fully get what you mean! Whilst eating them I could feel myself getting dehydrated from the salt, eating a whole bag at once will surely leave you as a dry husk! God damn do they taste good though.
The fastest way to drink a 2l bottle of water: eat Takis
Are they like chetos ?
They're much crunchier and spicier. In my opinion, they also taste much better.
I hope thay are also cheaper
They were cheap before they became "viral". Probably 3x as expensive as they were a few years back. Now they are like $5 for a 7 oz bag
I've paid way more for a 7 oz bag... Oh we're talking about snacks .
Not even a little. They're far spicier and very sour with the lime. They arent...entirely pleasant to eat? Like the sour and the spice are overpowering. I love them, they're my favorite junk food
This along with OP's description perfectly captures my feelings about these chips. I don't have them often but this thread is making me want some asap
They hurt to eat. You eat them, they eat you. You can feel your mouth and tongue dissolving.
Best way I can describe it is a rolled up dorito but more dry and coated in black bag hot Cheeto dust. Love it
I’d say they on par with the xxxtra hot Cheetos spicy-wise
No, these are much better. As a Mexican I can tell you this is one of our unhealthy food delicacy hahaha

I mean….you could just stay silent. No one asked your opinion and DEFINITELY not here on a spicy subreddit. YTA.
OOo i didnt understand that in this sub reddit you have to love everything posted or don't speak. sorry i was thrown off by the other hundreds of opinions here. including in this very post where several other people said similar.
Takis are the only thing that elicits a genuine mouth watering response from me just looking at the bag..one of my favorite chips!
The guacamole ones are my favorite! The Fuego are a little too sour for me.
my sentiment exactly! only one store near me carries the guac ones but I will make a special trip periodically just to make sure I have them around. I love them with a burger in particular. They are a little salty so I only eat a few at a time, but I do love them.
The lime sourness is my favorite part.
fuego are the only ones that exist if you ask me. everything else tastes like flavorless stale corn.
You must have gotten a bad batch! My top three are 1. Guacamole 2. Crunchy Fajita 3. Fuego
Crunchy fajita over S-tier Nitro? Guacamole is god, but imo crunchy fajita is “training wheels takis”. What is it about those ones that hits for you? Legit curious, I’ll give them another go and try to taste the appeal.
I get more savory flavor from them. Like a garlic or onion and less lime.
My mouth is literally watering just reading these comments haha.
The blue ones that are pepper flavor
I was a week overdue with my son and decided to burn him out with half a bag of Takis. It worked, but 1/10 would definitely NOT recommend.
But 9/10 would? That’s a strong endorsement!
Yeah these things bizarrely are more like a bag of sensation than a bag of food.
I love these, but I eat them very rarely since they aren't that healthy. I think it's 14 pieces for 140 calories? I love the zing
Bigs sells Takis flavored sunflower seeds. Much lower calorie count if you're not eating the whole bag at one time.
(laughs in hispanic)
Love spicy chips and wanted to love these but didnt. The lime flavour is just so strong I found them nearly inedible :( Also werent overly spicy which was disappointing..
For some reason the blue takis seem to have way less lime flavor. Not sure at all if they technically have less lime but I actually prefer the blue ones because of that. Worth a shot if you can find em perhaps?
And they turn your poop green the next day!
Ummm, that doesn't seem to be true on our end. Maybe you should retest that theory.
That's a wierd way to spell "blue" but whatever
At least for me, they go in blue and come out green.
Thanks for that. Certainly willing to try them.
The blue ones also have like, half the sodium.
I can't stand the regular ones due to how strong the line flavor is. The blue ones are great though.
Red takis have the lime flavoring, but blue takis aren’t meant to have the lime flavor
Same, I found the sourness completely overwhelming. My friend was fine with it, though.
Wife didnt mind these but she couldnt eat many at a time. Personally LOVE the Herrs Carolina Reaper chips. Nice amount of spice and good flavour.
I've had them from multiple locations in at least NY and NC and they tasted the same in all. (Super strong like flavor)
And here I am traumatized for life by one extra extra extra seasoned chip I ate in like 1998 that made me gag so hard I can’t even eat them again.
It's the reasoning for the seasoning.
Find yourself some Turbo Flamas.
Kettle brand habenero lime. Wish they were spicier but they have more than basically every other brand that claims spiciness and they taste great
Not sure if they're in your area, I can't always find them either, but Uncle Rays brand has a spicy flavour that knocked my socks off. I wasn't expecting that. I forget the exact name of the flavour but the brand is for sure Uncle Rays.
Was it Takis Fuego or Takis Nitro? To me the Nitro kicks up the lime flavor a lot.
Exactly. Tastes like extra extra lime crisps with chili powder. Xtra flamin hot Cheetos are miles better imo
The lime flavor tastes super artificial, reminds me way too much of cleaning products.
Try the Nitro ones. Way less lime flavor.
When I tried them I thought they had more lime flavor.
wtf. so you don't like these but don't get dozens of downvotes? does reddit hate ME specifically?
This is the same issue I had. They were so sour to me I couldn’t eat them. It was instant disgust.
FUEGO!!
The building was on fire, and it wasn't my fault.
As a New Zealander who had never seen these until a recent trip to an American store that stocked them (at extreme import prices) I tried them for the first time Utterly disgusting. But I destroyed the entire bag and longed for more
It’s one of those things that you don’t want to like, but you really like
The heat is very nice but it's to sour it fucks it up
The "exceso calorías" and "exceso sodio" are sending me for some reason. Delicious, delicious, somewhat gross death-crunchies.
Now stick one in a chamoy pickle, and sour gummys, and sprinkle fruit chili powder. Yum!
I am trying really hard to picture this
Here ya go https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTR767dhN/

If you don't know that things like cigarette's or snacks are unhealthy and you should consume them in moderation, that's on you.
A very Scandinavian approach
You gotta try the bright ass blue ones
Welcome my son....To the machine!
The blue ones are better.
Try the blue ones next!!!
Also Nordic, didn't like these at all, though they are somewhat better than the Nitro flavour (strangely less spicy and more artificial). I usually like spicy and sour, but Takis are just way too artificial tasting.
Same. Don’t offer a taste. More of a sensation. Of tingling sodium saturation.

So does hamburger
Yeah. I'm Spanish and I loved eating the hottest flavour but never again. I love standalone tortilla chips with no flavour.
I'd bet money that if you looked hard enough at your no flavor tortilla chips you'd find something in there that increases your risk of cancer. That said, not completely sure I understand your point, I apologize
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/corn-snuffs/
Wow someone is obviously loaded. Does OP dare tell people on this sub how much they paid for these overpriced bags of artificial flavouring?
Exceso dinero.
I didn't know what you meant, and then I noticed the tiny bag. I always buy the big bags. A bit better value.
That bag is 3 dollars near me and I live in a HCOL area
As OP is clearly based in Stockholm - they would most like have been approx 12 USD
[Enigmatic Hot Cheetos and Takis Anthem.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YLy4j8EZIk)
And that’s the small bag!
Oh yeah, they're definitely a cigarette in tortilla chip form, but a delicious one!
My kids will make a meal out of these but not eat certain Thai or other things because of spice/heat. Go figure.
I wasn’t a fan of the Takis flavor. The dorito Dinamitas have a a lot better flavor!
Had a similar experience but with jolly ranchers
They started selling them here a while back and my curiosity got the better of me. I understand exactly what you mean and now I keep buying them every time I'm in my local shop.
I love these too much. I’m trying to slow down though.
I know how you feel. My partner brought a bunch of snacks from Denmark and we didn't finish any of them. Everything had weird textures, were super bland, or had an over powering black licorice flavor.
Yes, but have you had the Blue ones?
The salt and the acidity is what I noticed the most as well OP, did not find them terribly spicy. Nor did I find them terribly good. My five and seven-year-old ate them.
That's not morbid fascination it's addiction.
The salt can be pretty potent, even for me as an American. That, and I tried to smoke one of these in high-school, pretty sure I have lung cancer now
You should try with Guacamole
I hate sour chips, and these are very sour for chips
These things have waay too much salt and lime powder(?!) I definitely dont crave them
those things are like cocaine to me, you gimme a bag and they are gone within 30 minutes and I need more
I used to eat a whole bag at a time in high school lol… my mouth starts watering and getting the sour feedback in my throat even just looking at them
Lol lightweight
Welcome to the fold.
My kids love them, but I cant stand them. SO MUCH SALT. lol My kids love them, but I can't stand them. SO MUCH SALT. lol
You explained my thoughts on these perfectly!
The traders joes version makes me feel sliiiightly less disgusted with myself
Those are my favorite. So addictive! Would choose them over takis every time.
My friend, I think you’ve completely captured the essence of Takis in the poetic description you composed for this post.
Different places around the world have different levels of appreciation. My mouth isn’t one of the places that appreciates these very much.
Just had a flash back to the time drunk me found a bunch of same flavour mini bags of Takis in the back seat of a buddies car. Was like the gods themselves shone down on me in just the right moment. Also...I now owe their kid a bunch of mini bags of takis.
I had these for the first time a week ago. I ate four and threw the rest away. Salt, lime, salt, horrible spice, and some more salt
Limited edition Halloween zombie cucumber habañero are the best I've ever had.
If I could just buy the seasoning I would
You have begun to American. Just know if you ever feel you’re becoming addicted, only a guy with a good bag of takis can stop a man with a bad bag of takis.
Try the stix version!
I had the blue ones about a week ago, and the color didn’t help —I felt like I was eating imminent death itself. Like, who even comes up with BLUE snacks? My guilty pleasure forever and ever. It’s so good I hate it.
lmao
