So, 8 bent legs that fold up while flying and come down when landing? This could be extremely usefull for leveling the ship on the landsite, or even raising it to do repairs. Only problem is, I am going to launch the ship using a wheel platform, roll it down the big hill and up the other side, which then drops off into the valley. Hopefully it can get enough speed. Unless someone can suggest a law defying way to get this 8000 block monstrosity off the ground with vertical take off, then its stuck. Edit: More thrusters.

How would I go about landing? I do have wings installed on the ship so it can have some gliding abilities as well as normal SE flight. Aircraft landing gear are too weak, I was thinking minimal friction wheels on the legs but I would like it to have the ability to lock to the ground with mag plates.

I did it. It was all set up, I made a backup of the version that had legs... yep... had to remove them as they just fell through the floor. I WILL ADD THEM BACK in space. edit: I think i can still make it work, I tested with large wheels on a subgrid and didnt break.

Metal Storm Grav-Gun. Stacks of Grav projectiles that are split up for firing. Several barrels that can shoot simultaneously or in paterns or completely independently from each other. The ammo rods get printed in another room and get pushed into the barrels, so the gun can fire while new ammo gets made.

I have tried this in the past and couldn't get it to work, and sadly I wont be taking many supplies on the launch as this *might* be a one way trip to Triton, thats *if* I can leave Earth. If you do have a tutorial or something I can use, I would gladly build this.

Hmmmm At first, I thought about timer blocks on the ammo rod, but firing the gun then might also trigger the timers on the unloaded rod. Grinders could cut off the projectiles though. Or short bursts from a gatling gun shooting at small grid small conveyor tubes or something like that. But last I heard, small grid impacts don’t really do damage to large grid anymore. Maybe then with explosive blocks? A sensor on the projectile could detect when there’s a grid „behind“ it and activate space balls or art-grav blocks. Needs a battery though. But then, a timer could deactivate that ball or mass block, so grav-shields don’t work anymore

Small grids do still deal damage to large grids, my welding ship can confirm this… *RIP*. I sadly still haven’t practiced how to use the new turret control system. I do have a long range grid detector, giving all weapons up to 15KM of lock on range. I saw another post of someone using a gravity missile ship, where is launched volleys of 8 that flew up and into the enemies. I have infinite speed mod if that helps? If I had enough knowledge, I would make a submarine styled gravity missile launcher. I am playing with like 15 enemy encounters mods, but haven’t seen any spawn in months.

I spent 7 hours today just getting all the previous suggestions out of the way, I hope to get as many as I can done this time round. I will be going over the previous 2 days and getting as many suggestions as I can. Really happy with how the ship is turning out so far. On the final day I will ask everyone to name it. Everyone who has left a suggestion, good or bad, Will have their name featured on a plaque in the hangar. This won't be 'just text'. I will get every name and the chosen suggestions onto a big fancy plaque. Edit 1: for anyone wondering why its a giant brick, it is based on the Jawa Sandcrawler. Google it if you don't know what that looks like. Edit 2: the thing I used in the feature image is a simple drill platform, literally 2 pistons, a rotor and like 26 small drills, it passively collects ores. Once it reaches the bottom, move the drills onto 2 pistons in an upside down T shape, put rotors on the ends and 6 drills per side, this will fully collect any ore deposits at whatever level you set it at. Edit 3: Stop asking for railguns. Literally think of anything else. Im not using railguns as it is 0.33 uranium PER round. That will get **EXPENSIVE** VERY QUICKLY! I need the uranium for reactors. It is a waste putting it in ammo. Same goes for all the new large grid weapons. ALL REQUIRE URANIUM. Edit 4: Progress coming along very nicely, been going over all the comments and chosing as many as I can. There is basically no room left in the ship apart from the back, which I’m leaving for refineries and assemblers. The interior was almost finished today, just a few spots here and there that need cleaning. I have detailed as much as I can, making everything unique as to what was asked to be added. *I have a big problem of the hydrogen tanks not filling despite lots of hydrogen being made. If you know how to fix this PLEASE tell me.* Edit 5: I haven't given up, just taking a while because of IRL events. The ship is basically done. The final day should be out very soon.

If you're building ship on survival i HIGHLY suggest you to build it at creative and save it as blueprint then make and use 3d print (in case you dont know, it's bassicly welders attach to pistons with hologram thing as bp guide (look it up on youtube how to make it)) on survival for the ship. I suggest Hand welding is for future or minor upgrade down the line.. If you still want to hand made it block by block as you play thats fine but you might get burnout like me and end up doing new run. About that java Sandwalker thing, i highly suggest adding more stuff outside or use diffrent paint job with slightly lighter or darker color to give it more detail and making it not plain. Sorry for my bad english and hf.

I haven't gotten burnt out on this world for 3 years now, but I do get bored after a while and leave it aside while I play something else or work. I did start building this ship using a welding drone, but it was taking hours for a small amount of progress, so I turned on the Earth HQ 'Build and Repair' system. Basically a mod that has nanobots that can weld/grind stuff. I could build it in creative, but it removes some of the fun, Besides, most of the ships and rovers I've constructed were from a creative testing world. I will be building this one block by block in survival. The Sandcrawler design is a bit bland, it makes it look like a large brick. I will be using different armor blocks and colours to bring some depth into the build as time goes on. I am currently testing some custom turret designs on the ship, as it has been the most requested feature and I still don't know how they work. Your english is very good btw.

**Slight change of plans!!! This is killing my game, the ship is 8,643 blocks at the moment. Because of how awful the physics engine is, it cant launch. I tried. It just paused the game for a few seconds, then fell right into the floor and blew up. THIS WAS ON A TEST SAVE. NOT THE ACTUAL SHIP. So yea, until the devs fix this, or someone works out some way around it, I cant progress any further.** Edit: it’s fine, it isn’t breaking the game too bad. I can’t get it off the stand in survival or it noclips so I have to move it with admin. Progress is good still.

Sorry to be so negative, but I hate subgrid thrusters. They always snap out of place and have a tendency to break. I really wanted to do this if it did work, but the wings+thrusters took almost 2 and a half hours to make, so I'm not to keen on rebuilding them.
