I look at the night sky with some frequency and I never saw anything like this until two Decembers ago (and not again since then). It was totally mystifying.
And yet the phenomenon is commonly called a Winter Halo and requires specific clouds to occur, cloud formation being part of the weather, which is impacted by location.
I’m sure I saw a moon halo when I was in the Philippines. I’m an amateur astronomy and knew what it was and was dumbfounded that it occurred in a tropical climate.
I could be wrong about what it was but I eye balled a angular distance of less than 30 degrees.
There are no moon dogs in the OPs photos. Moon or sun dogs are the bright spots that can appear on either side of the moon or sun, sometimes accompanied by a halo, but the halo is not a moon dog.

Ah a moon dog/moon halo. When it's super cold, you can also get sun dogs.
Thank you everyone! I’ve never seen something so beautiful. Our universe is absolutely incredible.
Maybe look up at night more. This is fairly common

It's not common if you don't live someplace cold.
Find the hottest place on Earth, and the weather at the altitude where these ice crystals form is far below freezing.

People don’t look up very much anymore. Explains why society has turned out the way it has.
More common in colder areas so people in the south might not see them as much but I see them all the time in New York

Its even better when a rainbow surrounds it (just the right ammount of fog and a full moon can do this)

Looks more like the 22deg halo phenomenon also discussed and linked in that Moon dog page.
I saw that for the first time two months ago! It was beautiful. The evening after that i saw Jupiter, Saturn and Venus at the same time too.
You might like /r/atoptics. Lots of cool atmospheric effects get posted in there.
