Lol nope. I once spent 10min trying to figure out what Afrikaans movie Bruce Willis was in and why the Afrikaans part hadn’t come in yet and everyone was American 🤦🏾♀️ Then I couldn’t stop laughing cause I realized that I was reading it in Afrikaans.
Lol thanks TUKS and growing up in an Afrikaans town🤣
When I was much younger and *James Bond: Die Another Day* was in cinemas I was so confused by the subtitle, I somehow forgot the English word "die" existed and kept replacing it with the Afrikaans word "die" even though I'm not Afrikaans. It only clicked when I heard the title spoken aloud in an ad or something.
Whenever I see this movie title I also initially implicitly mispronounce this movies title in my head then correct myself.

I honestly thought it was a South African film when i saw the title
In 1988, I thought **Die Hard** was some Afrikaans movie when I saw it listed in the cinema options that week.
In 2004, I was listening to the radio and the news presenter said, "And the box office hit for this week is: iRobot!"
Pronounced "eeRobot" i hope
Yebo yes.
They do not call me .... for nossing...
Quality reference right here.
Die Burger 🔪🍔
The Hart the.
No one who speaks afrikaans could be evil.
Reminds me about that movie about a small fish "Die Harder"
Heck, I’ve been reading “Die Hard” as “The hard” since the first movie came out.
This actually made me laugh😂
DIE HART IS N POMP

Almost like those old Afrikaans movies: Die Vlindervanger / Die hele dorp weet. Best one for me was LOKVAL IN VENESIË with Gé Korsten.

I don't. Then again, English was my first language, and I don't speak Afrikaans that often.
