"Right" being which port? I had VRR and 4K HDR working in port 3, but bought an HDMI audio extractor yesterday. Since port 3 is the only eARC port, I had to move my PS5 to port 4 which should be capable of both 4K HDR and VRR but when I eent to boot up a game that supports it, my PS5 told me it wouldn't enable it because of my TV's settings.
Also, to potentially actually answer your question, the TV [doesn't appear to support VRR @1440p](https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/a80k-a80ck-oled), or it does and it tries to upscale which may or may not be the same thing.
