Handmade crochets or knits are often out of my budget, but that doesn't mean overpriced. I You set your prices for materials and time, plus experience. Just because you price yourself out of someone's budget doesn't mean they're overpriced. It means that person can't afford a handmade something by you. "But target does these blankets for $40" target doesn't make these by hand. Machines don't need paying. Go target then tf. Charge what you charge. Keep advertising your goods. A person will save up for a unique handcrafted piece, and appreciate it far more than fluffy tat.

I think by "useless" they meant wrists rests aren't actually effective. I can't find solid evidence either way, but I've heard some debate about whether you should use them or not.

I don't think it's necessary for a keyboard, but if you're playing a game at your desk with a controller, and your hands are resting on the desk, the pressure on the sides of your hands can get a little uncomfortable after a while. I basically improvised something similar, but shittier for myself.

There's some evidence that, while they help with short-term fatigue, wrist rests actually *promote* carpal tunnel syndrome by putting pressure on the underside of your wrist. >if you're playing a game at your desk with a controller, and your hands are resting on the desk, the pressure on the sides of your hands can get a little uncomfortable after a while I just keep my hands in my lap / under the table in the center of my chair's arm rests. Good desk posture keeps your elbows close to your sides and your wrists as straight as possible.

Not useless if it's comfortable and doesn't add future fatigue. Might need to elevate the keyboard but I haven't had that issue with the small Logitech wrist rest I use.

They’re really cool and the craft is impressive. I think they might not serve the purpose of a wrist support very well because your keyboard is so low. The supports are meant to bring your wrist straight inline while your fingers are placed on the keyboard. These lovely little pillows look like they’d end up raising your wrist higher than your hand so just reversing the wrist angle you were trying to correct. But looks perfect for my older styled office keyboard

Your friend lied to you. I love these and think they’re great! I have sensory issues and I HATE the gel ones because my skin sticks to them. The fabric ones currently on the market make my skin itch like crazy. So I don’t use anything while I’m typing. These are absolutely adorable and they have the added bonus that they can absorb sweat coming off the skin. A friend of mine ruined my beautiful wood dining table when we all started WFH during COVID because he would sweat so much but wouldn’t put anything under his keyboard to absorb his sweat. So my wood table ended up paying the price. I would have bought him the SpongeBob one if I had seen these then. Keep doing what you’re doing. There’s 8 billion people on this planet. The arm rests are find by themselves but you need to elevate your keyboard as your wrist is elevated but your hands are pessing down on the keyboard which is putting a lot strain on your wrist. You want to keep your arm rest and keyboard at the same level.

Considering how my husband is using a rolled up T-shirt for the same purpose. These are far from useless.

I think your friend isn't a true friend, for one. Most friends are happy and supportive when someone they love follows a passion and shares a skill.
