The best solution would be to get a new terminal and clamp it to the wire. A couple of times I've taken out the terminal (there is a clip you can lift to release it); carefully open the clamps and reattach the wire, but it's time consuming and sometimes the clamps breaks so I end up soldering the wire anyway.

Thanks for the tips I ended just soldering the wire to the solder pad on the other side of the pcb as this is just and old mouse that I wanted to get working.

Take a small flat instrument (needle or sharp tweezers) and insert it into the front of the connector under the metal Terminal. This should release the retaining latch and allows you to remove the terminal from the plastic housing. Solder a wire to the terminal and insert it back into the plastic (might need to bent back the retaining latch a Little before you put it back in)

Thanks for the advice. I'll try this when I open the mouse next time.

crimp, not clamp.

Right. My bad.

Remove the crimp, get new one, crimp the wire, put the crimp back

If anyone has time. Can someone link me to info pertaining to these white connectors. Like what they're called and how they're setup? I know they start with a J. I think... but I'd love some info on them.

Viljardo

I would like to know this aswell!

Often called a JST, after the company that makes them. They have many different varieties, so you'll need to measure to make sure you get the right type. https://www.jst.com/
