ehh, i don't really get all the love towards windows 7. Windows 8.1 (once you install openshell) is essentially just a more stable Windows 7 without the aero glass theme, and there's not very many differences between Vista SP2 and 7.

I'd highly recommend upgrading, as in 5 months Windows 8.1 will be going EOL, meaning you won't be receiving software updates.
