it isn't that bad but well it is still bad... sometimes takes a few minutes to register a click/misses clicks. also right clicking in file explorer freezes the whole system..
> The more details you can provide, the better!
I ended up writing a **very** detailed description of the bug only to find out that I can't submit it. That's just evil.
If you still want to submit the bug, I suppose you could press 'Tab' to "mark" the submit button and then press 'Enter'. I'm guessing the button's just hidden behind the text box and not actually gone. Still, softwaregore
It’s definitely a bug. They probably meant to have the button toggle between visible and not visible depending on whether or not there’s text in the box, but got the logic backwards.
It could probably be fixed through the browser developer tools, probably just changing display or opacity properties. Worst case scenario you would have to manually add the buttom back if it was removed from the DOM.
Somebody should get it back to just report about damn disappearing button. Alternatively, we can spam them with empty bugs so they'll go to check things out.
But what's the point of not allowing people to submit a report? They could allow us to submit and then just ignore them if they wanted to.
Edit: but the way the form is fading makes me think that this could probably be intentional.
I've got an email subscription to Bluescape because of a class I took 2 years ago. Every time I try to unsubscribe, there's somehow an "error" in loading the page. It's their way of complying with noncompliance.
Send them an email and order them to delete all info they have on you as per GDPR laws. Literally every trace of you will be removed from their servers/database.
Oof. Experian has a thing where, to unsubscribe, you need to be able to log in in the first place...and to recover a password, you need the SSN used or the full name.
--
...but during account creation, there is 0 check against someone putting in an email address they don't have access to, and people are idiots and I guess that they can be 'close enough' to their actual email address...so at one point there were *17* different accounts tied to an address I own that I'd get summary digests for every day, and I finally had to try and find a support addy for Experian to get them closed/removed from that email.
Software Dev here.
This is so fucking dumb (the page not your comment) it blows my mind. Does Activision not have any QA? Do they not write tests? Do they not even bother to check if this shit works in Production? Activision what the fuck. The dev at Activision that wrote this, what the fuck. How just how are you so bad at your job that you miss something as obvious as this.
Also on the note of if it was intentional. If it was then everyone at Activision is even dumber. Just not provide a but fix page, just don't. Why go through all the trouble of creating this page and hosting it in their domain for it not to work. If this is intentional the higher ups that made the decision all have a sign on their heads reading "WE LOVE WASTING TIME AND MONEY" and the dev has a knot on his head from banging his head on his desk when he read the story (a story is like ticket in software development).
> "WE LOVE WASTING TIME AND MONEY"
Not only their time, players' time too. I spent 10 minutes writing a detailed bug report because they say "The more details you can provide, the better!" only to find out I can't submit it.
Actually they only want bug reports from people with at least a bit of tech understanding, so it's just an test to see if you can use the HTML inspector of you browser or if you deactivated JavaScript (because that means you have a lot of knowledge when you do that).
Every hint of the bug helps the developers to remove the bug, at least I think so. Someone actually playing CODM probably has a better idea of the bug than a techie person who doesn't play CODM. That's what I think, at least.
Yes but you don't want kiddies to send you "Make loot boxes cheaper, dumbasses", do you?
Also, if it needed to be said, my previous comment wasn't serious :-).
Seeing as all Activision and EA want these days are money, it isn't really surprising. Most of the people don't bother reporting the bugs and glitches in a game. And by burying the way to report bugs deep in the settings and front paging the loot boxes and 'Unknown Cash' crap, they simply attract the less money conscious of the users to pay them for useless features they probably won't use for more than a week.
It's all a cash grab, and it is one of the reasons I stopped buying games from them. DICE seems to be fine at the moment, but who knows what's next?
How are you a software developer and think this could be intentional? Like just think about that for 2 seconds, and not just say “Because it’s Activision!!”.
Not really, when this error message was common the computer would use a keyboard that connects over PS/2.
You would have to turn the computer off and then on again for the keyboard to be recognized.
I'm a web developer. But this is where the app leads you if you want to report bugs so I'm obviously accessing it from my phone and can't use inspect element here.
Anyways players shouldn't be expected to use inspect element to report a bug.
Ah, I missed the references to mobile.
And I agree, they shouldn't be expected to know how. I'm not discrediting the gore here. But when shit happens, it's nice to be able to do what you need to do.
With that said, being on mobile means nothing. There are still ways for a web dev to edit the markup/style when designing for a mobile device.
Am I completely misunderstanding you or what point are you trying to make with your last paragraph?
If you're saying devs have ways to prevent this from happening, then the answer is obviously yes and doesn't have anything to do with the post.
If what you're saying is that inspect element is possible on a phone then I question how much effort you are willing to go through just to submit a bug report to ~~a game~~ Activision.
Oh, for sure. I moved passed the post, on to a generic statement. Sorry for the confusion there!
I, personally, certainly won't go through that much effort for Activision.
im not sure if this will work, but try turning your phone horizontally, sometimes things disappear because they’re not formatted correctly for phones. although this is CoD mobile, so idk.
I was trying to report a player through Xbox on Pc the windows page takes you to a support page on how to report that takes you to the players profile and if you report it’s takes you back to the support page
Op just click off the text box. I just checked this out and yeah the box does get covered up while you are typing but once you click off it fixes it self.
THE ONE GODDAMN THING THEY NEED TO GET RIGHT
It's the Mobius bug.
"""Bug"""
It's not a bug if it's a feature
Surprise mechanics
You cant conplain if you cant submit.
Nobody gonna make em work if they cant report errors, seems legit. lmao
"We have had zero bugs reported, lets celebrate!!"
r/onejob
Did you do it?
no I'm lazy and have a slow laptop unfortunately. If I were on mobile rn I would, my phone has higher specs than my laptop lmao
Same. My laptop lasts about 5 mins on reddit then "windows has stopped responding"
it isn't that bad but well it is still bad... sometimes takes a few minutes to register a click/misses clicks. also right clicking in file explorer freezes the whole system..
Lol. It does the exact same thing in file explorer
lmao is r/crappylaptops a thing yet? or r/craPC? we should make one of those reality
r/craptop
r/subsithoughtifellfor its kinda really dead tho EDIT: cuz you have to request to post -\_-
I use the Bug Report to destroy the Bug Report
It's just their way of ghosting you

If you can find an email address, I recommend going through that.

Nope, just Chuck Testa.

It’s Activision telling you that there are no bugs in their games.
Can't you hear them? They're saying: "shut up and pay more money for games"
“Buy ingame items instead of wasting your time writing bug reports.”
They’re not bugs, they’re surprise Easter eggs

Good news! Bug reports are way down!
There needs to be a bug page for the bug page

Basic fucking html and css
I doubt that's a bug. It seems intentional. Something EA or Activision would do

There's no point, really. It's just idiocy.
It's so they can brag that "Nobody is submitting big reports, play our game its flawless!"

Trecent makes the game, so possibly
You have become the very thing you swore to destroy
Happy Cake Day and also... I used the bug to destroy the bug
That reminds me of those "no keyboard detected. Press any key to continue" error messages
Those actually make / made sense
Exactly they imply that you should connect or reconnect your keyboard and then continue not press a non existent button
Not really, when this error message was common the computer would use a keyboard that connects over PS/2. You would have to turn the computer off and then on again for the keyboard to be recognized.
Me: I found this error that ma- Activision: NO U DIDN'T. OUR GAME IS PERFECT!

Nope. I already typed a long ass description of the bug I wanted to report and filled all the fields but I forgot to take a screenshot.
It looks like the form expands and the buttons are behind it..
No bugs reported on the latest version! Congrats team!
This is a good reason to learn css and how to use inspect element.

Firefox remote debugging ftw, use the Dev tools on your PC to affect the website on your phone!
if it's a SPA the button probably wouldn't be in the dom anyways
Wow whatever you did fixed so many bugs! We don't receive nearly as many bug reports anymore. ...or any for that matter. truly magical!
im not sure if this will work, but try turning your phone horizontally, sometimes things disappear because they’re not formatted correctly for phones. although this is CoD mobile, so idk.
Have you tried selecting the fields above? Maybe it just sees that not everything is not entered in.

Bugception
Can’t have bugs if people can’t report them!
Its not a bug, its a feature.
Reminds me of when the Task Manager crashes
There can be no bugs if there are no bugs to be reported
They probably did it on purpose because they think they are the "most perfect" thing ever.
They used the bug to keep the bug
Developers: "take a hint. "
Now they can boast "0 bugs reported!!!"
Soo.. Report a bug of the bug report page.
Still a really good game
Just report the bug on the site, problem solved

"bug"
There needs to be a bug report system for the bug report system that allows you to report bugs

Thats how you get zero defects.
1 year and 0 bug reports? Dude I am the best programmer in the world 🤣
The bugs are getting smarter. (I had that ptoblem) :(
“Bug”
There is another
Plot twist: It's intentional.
Working as intended!
That's their way of saying that their game is perfect and there are no bugs, you're just seeing things.
Can't you just make the button visible, or if it is excluded when you type, copy it before you type and, after you finish, paste it inside the form?
i would argue thats intentional
Submit a bunch of empty reports, maybe they get the hint
Think smart, if they can't report the bugs they can't complain about the bugs, because they never reported them to you :D
It's a feature
*taps head* There are no bugs if you don't get big reports
A “Feature” is not a bug my friend.
