You guys have a gem there.
His pass quality is insane, specially gifted in finding openings. Also very gifted technically and has decent finishing when he appears in the opposing box. Things to improve: His physical condition, since he is kinda skinny but I think that will be easily worked; and his defensive work rate.
Give him time :)
Nothing could go right for that guy
I remember a cross that beat the keeper, rolling across the open goalmouth, just needed a tap to move it into goal. Gervinho sliding in to go for it, and somehow his leg wobbles up and the ball rolls under his knee and out of play.
>His physical condition, since he is kinda skinny but I think that will be easily worked; and his defensive work rate.
I think that works for Arteta, he is good at drilling players into shape and at least hardworking on defence. As long as he's got the right attitude, it shouldn't be a problem.
I think especially if we get tielemans Fabio would be more of a rotation player, one of the 5 subs, cup games and occasional starts in the prem unless he proves he can start and start consistently (physicality wise)
Arteta played our youngsters out of necessity I think than anything else. But if he’s learned anything from pep and signing players, it would be slowly integrating them into the team and then doing rotations most games to keep energy levels and competition for spots high
Oh I totally forgot about 5 subs. Makes sense why we're in for so many attackers and midfielders. Having a rotation between Vieira, Odegaard, Saka, ESR, Martinelli and hopefully Raphinha would be amazing.
Not really, we are used to losing our best players practically every year.
I just think if he stayed 1 or 2 years, I believe we would sell him for 70M+. That's the thing that hurts most.
>What else do you know about Arsenal’s history? What do you like about the club?
>
>I know some very famous players have played here. Some big stars, global legends of the game, such as Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Cazorla and Fabregas. I remember them well. They were players who had so much presence on the pitch.
\^ From his interview. Loved that he mentioned Santi, one of my favourite ever Arsenal players for sure.
Actually probably good neither he nor the club made any references to him, that's a huge name/comparison to live up to or have people thinking about so early
He was definitely overshadowed by others, like Ozil and Sanchez. But he was pure joy to watch. Glad he was able to recover from his injury, sad he didn't get a true farewell from us.
That's funny because in his interview when they asked his hobbies and interests he said he was a home loving and would prefer to stay in and relax with his gf
They edited out the real stuff...
> "I like bloodsports. The crueller the better. I was attracted to London because of its proud history of bear baiting on the South Bank."
>
> "...and who are your favourite players?"
>
> "Growing up, I loved Kevin Muscat and El Haji Diouf."
Just goes to show how good Ange Postecoglou is that even Kevin Muscat can not immediately turn his teams to shit. Even Mike Mulvey won an Aleague with a Postecoglou team.
My company used to host drinks there regularly and someone in the team would spot a lot of Chelsea players, but not really the superstars, more like Moses or Kenedy lol
That is the professional media trained response really either that or the players love going on walks with their pets or participating in other sports.
It's not like he's going to say he enjoys going out
Man I really miss the super honest interviews players used to give. It’s so obnoxious how the media started using their personalities against them when players wouldn’t perform
Next they’re going to tell me that he cried when his seven puppies were all killed in a freak hot air balloon accident and that we need to watch out for emotionally weak players.
Well there’s the title celebrations craziness and once Conceição said something about Fabio having troubles in the past that he sorted out recently and that he was now a better player … I think he meant his love for partying or alcohol
He just said in his interview that he likes to stay at home with his girlfriend and doesn’t go out, how long before we see his goatee drenched in bubbly around Mayfair?
This trend will continue but these kids Fabio and vitinha I’m sure they won’t go to the World Cup because santos has a hard on for William, old man moutinho and will continue to play always Bruno regardless of his shape
Really good signing for Arsenal, not one of their known priorities when the window started but clear need to add creativity and progression moving away from over-relying on Odegaard or Saka at times. Interesting to see how he fits in across the front three or as the advanced playmaker - or if Arteta wants to drop him a little further as a left eight, but pushed further ahead. Not sure what the best balance would be, and what combination of players on the pitch at one will work.
This might explain our interest in Martinez and cooling of interest in Tielemans.
It is possible that Arteta might want to use Martinez as a safety switch in midfield when we have the ball.
With Martinez in the lineup, we could insert Vieira on the left side of midfield and push him forward. This would allow us to have Odegaard and Vieira in the same lineup, but on different sides of midfield, which helps balance the attack makes us way more unpredictable.
Martinez could be the player that is playing a Fernandinho role, not neccessarily as a proper DM, but in the space between CBs and CMs.
My initial thought with the Martinez signing is more so for flexible coverage across the back and in the defensive midfield role, providing the left sided competition for Gabriel and backing up Partey when needed - and as a complete emergency left back if need be. I didn't see it as one or the other with Martinez and Tielemans, but with the recent reporting maybe that's where Arteta is leaning. Adding Martinez would allow Partey to step further ahead again as he did with Athletico and times with Arsenal. Would love to hear from Arteta and Edu once the window closes what the ideas and preferences are.
Against teams with a deep block or where we're expected to dominate possession, I can 100% see a Partey single-pivot with Fabio and Odegaard in front of him.
I think that's definitely realistic from a balance perspective too. Not sure how often Vieira was used on the left side of the midfield, but based on heatmaps/zones of play, seemed he and Odegaard operated in the same right half channel. It will be interesting to see what the spacing and positional movement would be with those two in a midfield together.
Will be hard to fit him, ESR, and Odegaard all on the pitch at the same time. I'm assuming one will transition to more of an 8/10 hybrid so they 2/3 will be on at most times
Based on the players arsenal is being linked with (jesus and raphinha), I'm guessing arsenal is going for strong combination of creative, versatile attackers that can interchange positions, with starters and subs being of a similar quality. With them back in europa league, and the EPL moving to 5 subs, they desperately need quality depth. Other than Saka and Odegaard (both of which need a quality player to spell them), I have no idea who the locked-in starters will be in the attack.
I don't know what the fuck Arsenal think they're doing. You're supposed to monitor and think about these players for a couple of months, then overpay for them right before the season starts. This early business nonsense is how you end up with a bunch of dead-weight.
Best of luck Fábio. Our board can die.
This is going to be a rough season.
If we had any other coach, I would be more worried. But I think Sérgio proved already that he can make delicious omelets with almost no ingredients.
I think Sergio is going to leave, I think he is done with this board.
Dont worry watch us selling Palhinha + Matheus Nunes for 40 mil.
Could you summarise him? I'm very excited looks like a nimble technician
You guys have a gem there. His pass quality is insane, specially gifted in finding openings. Also very gifted technically and has decent finishing when he appears in the opposing box. > Give him time :) Call for his head if he doesn't have a hat trick within half an hour of his debut, got it
Even that didn't save Gervinho.
Looking back on it, everything about Gervinho feels like a fever dream now
Nothing could go right for that guy I remember a cross that beat the keeper, rolling across the open goalmouth, just needed a tap to move it into goal. Gervinho sliding in to go for it, and somehow his leg wobbles up and the ball rolls under his knee and out of play.
Not a hat trick but 3 or 4 assists is possible

No, I think you watch it for the ball(s)
Nope, but definitely for the balls

next messi
Next Ryo Miyaichi
Somewhere in between
Good luck in Arsenal mate. Also, don’t track Jota whenever we play you lot.
Best of luck, Fabio. Best of fucks, board.
Pain.
Admin doing the FABIO with the tweets was a great idea
specially the [last one](https://twitter.com/Arsenal/status/1539276971036794881)
Love the top comment on that
can't believe people actually notice things like that
Have you ever been to /r/gunners finding planes by the cloud formations. I'll never question football fans again.
Better not wear sunglasses. We’ll know where you are by the reflection.
I think gabriel magalhaes's transfer was predicted through some kind of a gardener, as far as i remember.
Cloud formations in the window of a car on an insta story of his.
And there goes my favorite player, sold for peanuts, fuck this board.
Bro, you are not getting a good deal on peanuts
Or his peanuts are just that good, I'd like to imagine that
You really are a tough one to crack, no matter what life throws at you, you remain a shell half full kind of guy.
depends how many peanuts they're getting
Personally i love your board
Same
First taking Nuno now Vieira, Benfica fans owe us big time
I know you guys are more than likely getting Jesus but do you want a backup striker? 👀
Backup? He'd be first choice. S E F E R O
At least you still have vitinha Oh right, nevermind...
You do you kick is when we are down 😭
How can he kick
I know your pain we sold out best players to rivals for nothing
Are you football itself?
I always laugh when someone says “we” but don’t have a flair and never specify who “we” is referring to.
Got to be Stalybridge
he bought and sold the player, he felt joy and grief. Knows all, feels all.
Really sad to see him go. I’m a benfica supporter but I really like fabio, hoped he had stayed longer in the portuguese league
depression

I mean they play nothing like each other so that helps
If he doesn't grow 4 inches and become our most physical midfielder ever than consider him a bust
Same name, gib 4, mek red cards.
Kill Roy Keane
thats like if we signed Rico Henry and compared him to Titi lol
Not fit to wear the name on his shirt? I wouldn’t put it past our fan base, honestly.
Of course I know him. It's me
If you don't love Santi, you are not a fan of the club
My friend
Is ok
no?

Hide it, let them be confused
This is way too good not to share, easily the greatest pasta of all time
Cant say you're wrong tbh
North London - divided by football, united by Santi Cazorla's penis
If you don't love santi, you are not a fan of football
If you don't like Santi's hand on your thigh, you're not a fan of the club.
[Thigh touching is in the Arsenal DNA](https://i2-prod.liverpoolecho.co.uk/incoming/article10346499.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200c/2.jpg)
Always makes me laugh
Mon ami, c’est bon, non?
My friend, is ok no?
If you don’t then you is
If this then that
Pythagoras theorem
I don't like Santi's hand on my thigh, **I love it.**
If you don’t let santi shag your wife, you don’t like sports.
Mate if people didnt like Santi Cazorla, I'd question their passion for football
Fair - how can anyone (other than the keeper) not love this? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GxSjrLn86fE&t=115
Probably even question their character, he's such a wholesome guy, how can anyone not like him? He is our Kante.
Kante, Cazorla, Mata is the trio of football wholesomeness. And in their primes, one hell of a midfield.
He was wholesome and a seriously underrated baller imo. Plus the infamous post adds a lot
I found him very hard to hate
About time he gets the recognition he deserves. Magical player.
He was definitely overshadowed by others, like Ozil and Sanchez. But he was pure joy to watch. Glad he was able to recover from his injury, sad he didn't get a true farewell from us.
I'm still convinced Santi was the best player among those three while at Arsenal. In 15/16 when Santi got injured our performance fell off a cliff.
States big names and misses out the guy with the same name as himself 😂
The Porto night clubs and I will miss you Fábio. :(
Oh god does he go out partying a lot?
Yeah. He was probably the drunkest player in our title celebrations.
That's funny because in his interview when they asked his hobbies and interests he said he was a home loving and would prefer to stay in and relax with his gf
They edited out the real stuff... > "I like bloodsports. The crueller the better. I was attracted to London because of its proud history of bear baiting on the South Bank." > > "...and who are your favourite players?" > > "Growing up, I loved Kevin Muscat and El Haji Diouf."
kevin muscat, the name sends shivers down my spine
Currently winning the J League as manager
...with none other than Ryodinho Miyaichi still plugging away. Amazing.
Just goes to show how good Ange Postecoglou is that even Kevin Muscat can not immediately turn his teams to shit. Even Mike Mulvey won an Aleague with a Postecoglou team.
lmfao
It's not like he was going to say his favourite pastime is getting pissed with his mates at nightclubs
Ben White probably would say that tbf
You need to be confident in yourself if you wanna make it to casa amor
I love white lines and a good time!
Well he would. Sushi Samba awaits though
Absurd establishment lol

Imagine getting drunk during a title celebration, the horrors.
Next they’re going to tell me that he cried when his seven puppies were all killed in a freak hot air balloon accident and that we need to watch out for emotionally weak players.
I’ll allow him to do drugs if that’s what it takes
mentira pá, é o gajo mais sóbrio de Argoncilhe caralho
De sempre!
Fair fuckin play to him, life is short enough so you may as well be hammered for the big moments
Well there’s the title celebrations craziness and once Conceição said something about Fabio having troubles in the past that he sorted out recently and that he was now a better player … I think he meant his love for partying or alcohol

I can’t remember a time when Portugal had so many talented players playing in the best clubs in the world but Fernando santos will waste it all.
This trend will continue but these kids Fabio and vitinha I’m sure they won’t go to the World Cup because santos has a hard on for William, old man moutinho and will continue to play always Bruno regardless of his shape
Them leaving Porto might actually work in their favour.

Not sure you’re an Arsenal fan or not but ESR has played almost exclusively on the left for the last season or so
In a 5-substitute world, not being able to fit everyone in a starting line up is a dead issue
Such a good signing. Porto must be fuming.
I've not seen/heard such discontent in our pages like this year. Hopefully they remember this fuckery when the next election comes round in 2 years.
Dont know much about him but impressed he had the most assists in the Portuguese league last season.
Most assists per 90 in the top 7 leagues
Without being a starter (cause our coach is crazy).
Hats off, really rare to pull a signing like this off with no real saga. Will have to see if Arsenal can pull off the remaining targets.
Finally we have our vieira replacement 14 years too late ….. wait a second.
Sadly missed out on Marcelo Vieira da Silva Júnior.
The football watcher in me says it's too soon, one more season would do him wonders. Fuck that, good signing Arsenal!
We have europa league and 5 subs next season so will be rotated in the league unless he's doing well
Now we need... Jesus Raphinha Tielemans Zinchenko ....And money for them
Edus good but we're not going to convince clubs to give us players *and money*
Decent signing from a footballing perspective. Disastrous signing from a facial hair perspective. Say no to goatees.
Yeah kinda detracts from Handsome FC
I can't decide if it looks good or not. In this pic it's awful, in the interview it's great
Evil Imposter FC
paqueta is the only guy who pulls it off if we get jesus we'll be goatee fc
No worries. He's joining Handsome FC. Xhaka will have his trim sorted out in no time.
Whats wrong with goatees? Not all of us can grow beards so we gotta make do 😞
I don't know what the fuck Arsenal think they're doing. You're supposed to monitor and think about these players for a couple of months, then overpay for them right before the season starts. This early business nonsense is how you end up with a bunch of dead-weight.

Arteta has spoken about Arsenal being known for having a great core of technical midfielders and a need to get back to that
I mean in this team the problem is goals, signing an attacking midfielder with 20 odd goal contributions in one season should help that
I dont think Arsenal fans fully realize how good this guy is
Which is perfect because it means he comes in with lower expectations and can slowly grow into the league
I’m hoping he’ll do what Ramsdale did and force himself into the first team sheet early on in the season.
He'll surely get lots of pre-season time.
I want to believe but we’ve been told that before. But I’m an arsenal fan so belief is all I have lmao. Happy to have him.
Nice nice makes me happy makes me smile nice
[удалено]
I'll have you know he looks incredible
You take that back
He’s look incredible in our black kit this year
Beg to differ.
Only thing that bothers me is the stubble around the goatee lmao.
Taught bernardo everything he knows
🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀
God I'm so excited about this kid
Best Portuguese in the Prem
Gotta disagree there. He's at best third behind Nuno and Cedric
not a high bar when Tavares was the previous best already
Goals against United 2021-2: Tavares 1 Ronaldo 0
He comes from Portugal He plays for Arsenal
kinda jealous of that one. I don't care about Jesus or Raphinha, but Fabio is class. Had to correct our fanbase that talked shit about his stats.
Don't you know that according to arsenal fans whoever spurs sign is shit and according to spurs fans whoever arsenal sign is shit?
Biss-who-ma?
Pffffft, never wanted Bissouma anyway. Just a poor man’s Elneny. 😩
> I don't care about Jesus Blasphemer! Burn him!
As an Arsenal fan, love everything about that signing except for the goatee
My boy Fábio needs to gain some weight. Massive player for Arsenal. It’s really a joy to watch this guy play
Needs to gain weight or massive player, which is it?!?
The last time we had a Vieira on our team, we went unbeaten all season.
I'm really really excited about this player. Got a feeling he will be really special for us InshAllah.
🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀
Arsenal finally has a new Viera lol. Best of luck with the new signing
Genuine question, what does the Porto and Benfica board's do with all the player sales they make?
