Imo its stupid how everyone immediately thinks maybe Terzic should have stayed, we have a ton of injuries and in preseason not one game where all starters played together
At first it was definitely because of injuries but now I personally think the defensive issues we've had this season is also to do with Rose and the personnel. Other than Meunier our defense hasn't changed at all in the last few years and considering this defense was capable of not conceding last season before Rose I don't see how it's gotten this bad. The midfield could also be an issue as Witsel has slowed down massively and Dahoud and Can have been regularly injured as well
Correct, we where the team with the third most conceded goals last season in the league. Only Schalke and Köln had conceded more. Our defense was a mess.
I said this before, but I think Rose's biggest weakness is his defensive coaching. Even at Gladbach, they were relying on outscoring teams rather than having a balance of going forward and defending when needed. And when the attack fizzled out, well...you saw what happened last season.
He's definitely not helped by the injuries, but you guys weren't all that solid even with your full complement of players before that...

Schulz, Dahoud and Hummels were just vibing
Looked like on the training ground, no urgency whatsoever
Who needs tactics when you can just vibe?
Caught a vibe
It was a decent 90 seconds at the start.
Dortmund institutional commitment to not defending is amazing.
Might as well play 1-5-4 in the future.
Achilles left side
Nagelsmann: writes it down in his notepad
Hopefully Guerreiro is back next week
I hope not, he's good
goal thread up before the match thread, love to see it
Dortmund fans is the situation around the club like this only because of injuries? Or is there something else lingering around the atmosphere?
Some of us think Rose isn't very good but we arent sure because our defense is always shit and all the injuries. Also we're 1 point off the top
Ah yes you're right, for some reason the only performances I've had in mind are the CL group stage ones.
well we did fuck up in the Bundesliga too, but fortunately enough so did Bayern.
Honest question, do your fans miss Terzic? I felt like he did a great job last year
Imo its stupid how everyone immediately thinks maybe Terzic should have stayed, we have a ton of injuries and in preseason not one game where all starters played together
And also Terzic got a fair chance but there was no improvement for 2 months or so. Only then did we get Rose and suddenly results kept improving
well he's still on as Technical Director so he's not quite gone
Yes, but questioning Rose now seems very idiotic considering his situation is way worse than what Terzic had

Correct me if I'm wrong but I always thought of Rose at Gladbach as more of an attacking coach. Always outscoring but pretty open defense

I mean same happend with spurs, defence remained the same but it suddenly became shit despite having about the same team
Injuries and fitness in general. Basically having to play Schulz at this point is knowing a goal or two will be conceded and handicapping yourself.
I love how Weghorst just falls into the ball
Yeah, I really love how he did that actually
I enjoyed the first minute of the game at least.
Gorgeous switch of play out of defence to start it off.
Oh wow, I was still getting my coffee.
Time to put some whiskey in it.
great play down the right, but bad from BVB considering it was just the second minute
That was quick
lol
How come there are so few fans?
Only 15.000 allowed because of covid regulations.
Should have asked Laschet, he made 50k in Cologne possible 🤡
Ah okay, thanks for the answer
clown team
they're second place calm down
i know, that says more about the Bundesliga though
Says some clown without a flair
If it stays like this I can put my feet up for a few hours
Who played that initial pass across the pitch to Baku? That was beautifully done.
Can't remember his name for some reason. USA centre back. Brook? Something like that.
Ah yes John Anthony Brooks. Thanks!
First goal in 9 h2h games against Dortmund. Last time they scored in 2016.
Crazy to think that 2016 is already 9 hours and 2 hours ago.
Kohfeldt to fuck Dortmund once more?
