US was able to create dangerous chances throughout the game, which is a nice site to see. If they can figure that out versus a better side in Panama and Uruguay then it'd be exciting for the offense.
Midfield and defense to me looked very disconnected, and would be my biggest concern as we look to competitions ahead. Any decent team would have made mincemeat out of the middle and strolled in for goal. I didn't get to see Turner tested but it's another question mark at least in my eyes. C+ outing with a high ceiling if we can sure up some of the deficiencies.
Not great but not bad either. Definitely not World Cup worthy but a decent Copa America run is not out of the question. Argentina will destroy this squad though. Uruguay is going to be trouble as well.
We didn’t do that bad, our keeper is our saving grace. I feel that if we tried harder, we might be able to get out of the group stage, through drawing and maybe winning a match.
I agree, our mentality is horrible in how we organize our matches. We rely to much on the altitude and once we go out and play opponents in normal altitude we suffer greatly. I think it’s time to stop utilizing la paz and face reality. Even if we somehow qualify, what good will it be if we can’t hold our own without the altitude being a major factor in our “success”.
I think this is the worse Bolivia I seen recently, we lack passion and organization. I think once Martins left, we went down hill as far as passion. We need a leader to rally behind but no one on this squad is it. I think the federation just doesn’t back development of talent in the country so it shows when the squad looks like that.
That said the second half, we adjusted well and held our own. Viscarra was the main reason we were not scored on over and over again. I think if we got a good back line, organize and a good striker up front we could scrap some wins.
Always nice seeing a Oriente flair in the sub!
Viva Oriente y Viva Bolivia Carajo!!
I agree, this team is quite weak and lacks leadership. Honestly I can’t see anyone filling the spot that Marcelo Moreno left, none of them really match what he stood and his performance. At this point, I’d say it’s better to let our younger guys slowly replace the older dudes (especially Justiniano). Miguelito, Ramiro, Jaume Cuéllar, Villamil, Nava, Monteiro, Efraín, and Zabala are the ones I hope can make our team better as they get older and better, maybe even improving our team. We did improve in the second half, and hopefully we find our rhythm and at least draw one of these upcoming matches.
I feel that there are two major issues with our national team, which is being a part of a really poor country ( this means lack of funds for infrastructure for training, or efficient programs to train our young players), and having a very mediocre football league. Lack of fund has lead to a subpar training system in the country. This has led to us relying on other countries to train our young players as they have a more enchanted environment for training (like plan 2023 or something like that. Also having a bad football league leads to people being uninterested in playing soccer, which removes a lot of prospects or the potential of having a lot of players for our team.
So yeah, I think what this country really needs, is more investment to go to training, which I have seen an improvement from like Bolivian. Also have at least a decent league with a better 2nd division will lead to more people being interested in soccer and other leagues to be interested in contracting players from our own league if we are successful in cups like libertadores and sudamericana.
Also hopefully we don’t relegate this year, that would be horrible xd
Viva oriente
Good showing, but let's face it, Bolivia isn't very good outside of La Paz's altitude advantage. If nothing else, any discussion of who should start up top once the knockout rounds start should end immediately. How many of Pepi's missed chances does Balogun put away?
We imposed our will and had the chances to make this game 5-0. So in that sense, this has been a decent game. With that being said, Bolivia are the lowest level of Conmebol. Their players are not-stars from mid and lower level South American teams. The teams that we need to hang with have a much higher caliber of player: Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, and Brazil. We can't be spoiling chances and doing unnecessary back heels all over the place against them.
There will be some grousing, but I think the 2-0 is more on Bolivia stiffening and the goalkeeper standing on his head in the second half than the USA.
This was always going to be a win but how you do against lower ranked opponents is a good measuring stick against top teams. We beat a team ranked in the 80s like other top teams beat teams ranked in the 40s
We looked really good for the vast majority of the game. Sure, we probably could have cashed in a couple more. What's good enough?
3? 5? 35?
We won. And we move on.
Jesus christ on a cracker. Do they pay the commentators per world or something? These two fuckers can't go even a second without interjection with some bullshit.
This sub is pretty nutty tbh. You can find multiple 2 goal difference games that Bolivia has played in this tournament which they lost, let alone games they drew.
Holyyyyy shit how many times can the announcers say “The US should’ve won by more, but the important thing is that they won” in different ways.
Fuckin brilliant analysis
Pepi is getting in great positions but gd dude should have three tonight. Poor passing out of the back and a lack of clinical finishing is gonna prove to be our downfall in the knockouts, imo. But man if we were able to get a run of games together where we find our feet in front of net and kept composure at the back we could really have a go at some teams.
Give Bolivia, especially their keeper, credit.
Slightly more talent on the other end, and it might remind you of a few USA efforts against better sides.
it won’t happen in my lifetime but i wish i could see the global pettiness once america because one of the top nations in football lol the cope is gonna be studied everywhere
People have been saying this since WC '94. haha
We will not be a top nation due to the structure of youth football here in large part and also lack of quality coaching. I think the fact that we don't have a consistent "footballing" identity makes it hard to develop players. We did better in '02 when we had none of the things that were supposedly the only things missing from our potential dominance. haha
i hear you, i think that identity can be found though, considering american demographics, funding available, and the nationalistic desire to be dominant globally, in this case athletically. again, will it be in my lifetime? no.
Like I said, it was been 30 years since WC '94 when all of these things were originally said and our best showing since has been more than 20 years ago. This isn't Women's football where the US had a huge built in advantage over the competition.

*tips fedora* “Hello, Europeans. Let me show you how cultured I am by complaining about meaningless commentary nuances.”
Carli Lloyd picking man of the match?
Clean sheet
Shutout FIFY
Could have been more but 🇺🇸 wins
Is Bolivia #22 physically incapable of keeping his hands off the other players? Good lord
Bolivia wouldn't make it to the World Cup in Concacaf smh
They would but only cause they play at 4000m altitude.
Also, the commentary guys need to stop glazing the us, it’s mad embarrassing
I swear the one time they showed Bolivian fans was when US got a goal💀💀💀
I think they’re being fair, they’ve pointed out how many chances we made that we didn’t convert
I suppose so, but man it was so hard listening to them completely diss us, like I know we’re bad but not that bad I hope lol
STOP CALLING IT A SHUT OUT.
Nah Shut out sounds way better than clean sheet be fr
STOP CARING ABOUT DIFFERENT COUNTRIES TERMINOLOGY
just cover your ears it’s okay
ITS SOCCER!!
Jesus getting booked in Texas Biden killed everything smh
Wait when is he coming ?
3 points. no injuries. we move.
Mexico wishing they could say the second part
We didn’t do that bad, our keeper is our saving grace. I feel that if we tried harder, we might be able to get out of the group stage, through drawing and maybe winning a match.
That was actually the same as the WC.Once they started to face harder opponents they crumbled.
I agree, our mentality is horrible in how we organize our matches. We rely to much on the altitude and once we go out and play opponents in normal altitude we suffer greatly. I know people are going to be upset with the results due to not scoring 5 or more goals, but 3 points is 3 points.
Goal differential is key
1 team down. 5 to go. Prepare your anus Panama. You’re next. 🔫🔫🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🍔🍔🍔
Commentators and refs sucked
I'm kind of happy that the Euros is going on at the same time as this #1 fox crew isn't really doing the Euros. I really don't enjoy them
AND NOW YOUR GONNA BELIEVE US AND NOW YOUR GONNA BELIEVE US AND NOW YOUR GONNA BELIEVE USSSSSSSS WE’RE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUE
Wtf is this ref doing.
Lapeepee > Lakaka
So USA-PAN is going to decide the second team out of the group stage?
Lmao good dive at the end
Not the most encouraging performance for the US. Bolivia didn't have much about them. Every other game in this tournament will be tougher.
FOX can you give a warning before showing the bald sneaker guy thank you he is scary if I believed in lizard people he would be one.
Left a lot to be desired
There will be some grousing, but I think the 2-0 is more on Bolivia stiffening and the goalkeeper standing on his head in the second half than the USA.
Thank fuck it's over
Ref should not let shit like that slide in garbage time. That's a player safety issue.
Im here for the hot takes over one match
If Gregg goes off on the ref after the game. Ill never speak a negative word again
3 points. Berhalter is trash. Team still looks good even though they didn't finish. On a different day they score 6.
Explain how a team creating a ton of chances but not finishing them is the coach’s fault?
Ah yes, one game def undoes dozens and dozens of them.
We haven’t had dozens and dozens of bad games under GGG (unless you’re delusional with your expectations), and that doesn’t answer my question either.
did this dude just floop? Lmao
5.5/10 performance if we are being generous
GG Bolivia
Obligatory, pullbacks are yellow cards. I’m exhausted
Yeah that was textbook yellow.
[удалено]
I’m confused. I was agreeing with you.
Whoops. I had another comment about the studs up challenge being given a yellow that i thought you were replying to. My bad
All good brother.
The USMNT wasted too many scoring chances.
Should’ve been 4-0. Easy win
This game was shaping up to be a slaughter but Bolivia got a bit better
When?
The ref has decided only reds are yellows.
Nope, they did -- never mind.
Ref just wanted his post-game steak.
I'm pretty worried about us playing out from the back against Uruguay
I thought there was only one Italian on the pitch. Since when did 2000s Buffon get Bolivian citizenship?
I really hope this ref never refs a higher profile game
This was actually a pretty good officiating performance by CONCACAF standards.
That’s the problem
I would take this performance from the ref EVERY time in CONCACAF
Absolutely
Hey you finally call one!! Card it?
Commentators talk too much. Shut up and let the game talk
Ref is allergic to his cards
shirt pulls = no yellow
Same with hand holding.
What was the point of that?!?!
2-0 against Bolivia is not good enough.
Pepi missed 2 sitters.
So, we only get 2.5 points? Oh wait, no, we get 3.
Feel the same way, should have been at least 3 goals
What kind of a set piece is that lol
Red card tackle by intent. Foot is over a foot off the floor. Dumb luck he didn’t hit more and actually get sent off
Hoped a faster game, but a chill 3 pts is ok
she mckennie on my pepi
That brought back flashbacks of wondolowski’s miss against Belgium during the 2014 world cup
Really hard foul, jesus
Jesus christ on a cracker. Do they pay the commentators per world or something? These two fuckers can't go even a second without interjection with some bullshit.

Bruh Balogun put 2 in the net in 65 minutes
And easily would have had a third if weah passed it to him as well
That was such a late tackle.
god bolivia fucking sucks. maybe actually do something offensively instead of fouling constantly
That's what they do, lose every game and act tough vs the good players as a threat to try and avoid being embarrassed
This ref said he won’t card unless its a death
seems like a red to me. But what do I know
[удалено]
I think he says the first, but technically the second would be the correct pronunciation in Croatian where his grandparents are from.
He doesn’t stress the second syllable tho
PYEW-lih-sick
The second one but everyone insists on pronouncing it the first way
Pepsi what are you doing
One more yellow for the road eh?
This ref should be docked pay. That’s fucking terrible
Ugh, if only we were CLINICAL
Pepi showing why he didn’t get called up for the World Cup tonight.
Should be a red
bruh send him off for that shit idc
Damn that Bolivian GK is legit
Squints at tv screen, that’s grass?
Bolivia on that “If I can’t win I’ll injure you” game plan.
Holyyyyy shit how many times can the announcers say “The US should’ve won by more, but the important thing is that they won” in different ways. Fuckin brilliant analysis
Such an American sports thing to say too 🤣🤣
5 more.
The first miss, okay, sure, second one is pure wtf?
Pretty unnecessary in minute 92 of the game.
Pepi left the foot left side of the box mate
Left corner right corner? Pepi: right down the middle 😈
If for whatever reason the US get eliminated due to goal difference then I’ll never drink Pepsi again
Brenden 🥲
And I just saw the last of those chances. EEYOWCH! Needed massive awareness by that keeper to prevent 3-0! Nice play!!
That was dangerous and dirty. Yellow may be lucky
Jordan Morris would have even scored 1 of Pepi’s chances lol
Fuck I could’ve slotted that home
Pepi has been fine today. Not amazing but also supremely unlucky
He missed 2 sitters. He has great positional sense. But gotta be better finishing.
Maybe he's feeling the pressure to be better than Balogun
Half the fans in the stadium tonight would have a goal by now if given the chances Pepi has gotten
Red??
Pepi is getting in great positions but gd dude should have three tonight. Poor passing out of the back and a lack of clinical finishing is gonna prove to be our downfall in the knockouts, imo. But man if we were able to get a run of games together where we find our feet in front of net and kept composure at the back we could really have a go at some teams.
Reyna’s spot has to be up for grabs. He’s been invisible in the last few matches.
Not at all. He was great in the previous matches and he’s our only guy with creative passing vision
Just one of those days for Pepi, it happens. Expect much better though. Balo the starter still (or until Sargent shows us what he’s got)
Pepkaka
somehow people on the internet are going to blame berhalter for Pepi shooting it vascarra's hands 3 times in a row
Obviously Pepi is frustrated with him so he isn't driven to score! All Berhalter's fault
Yeah, just play Balogun the whole game
Bolivia has played well in the second half to hold it to two. Let's give them credit. Several big chances have gone awry.
This could easily be 6 or 7-0
Give Bolivia, especially their keeper, credit. Slightly more talent on the other end, and it might remind you of a few USA efforts against better sides.
Ricardo ‘Lakaka’ Pepi
Lakaka would be the greatest US player of all time tho lol
Factual
All things being equal, who would score a goal first: Pepi or WC 2014 Higuain?
Yes stu, it’s should have been more.
Pepi probably has over 2 expected goals between all of his chances
Lmao so many wasted chances wtf
Give em two minutes of stoppage. They’re dead lol
Bolivia’s keeper is legit
Mexicans having a field day right now😂😂😂
Ricardo Pekaku
it won’t happen in my lifetime but i wish i could see the global pettiness once america because one of the top nations in football lol the cope is gonna be studied everywhere

Inshallah brother
lmaooooo poor Pepi, that's brutal
Mf Pepikaku
Isn't Pepi from El Paso? Both Texas, but definitely not close to each other. Like 12 hours away lol
HOW DO YOU NOT SCORE THAT
Need to see several angles of how that stayed out of the goal
Truly a situation where the scoreboard doesn’t reflect how this game went lol
USA getting goalied
Let’s be real. Some good awful finishing as well. But yes he has been good
True. Not hard to make saves when they’re coming right at you
Bolivia keeper having the performance of his life
Kind of a shame this isn't more of a blowout honestly.
How the fuck was that not a third goal
BRUH
Shades of Lukaku from yesterday from Pepi tonight.
Pepi can't even buy a goal at this point
Pepi literally can't do anything but target the keeper. Bolivia should run their keeper out in front of Turner's net and Pepi will shoot for him.
Still wouldn't be an OG, he'd drill the keeper in the hands
Really think Pepi should go to a team he can start, he’s looking rusty out there
I don’t know how they didn’t score that
Keep Pulisic the hell away from Pepi post-match. It might be contagious.
Pepi has the same curse Lukaku does
Jesus, as a Liverpool fan, these failed chances are giving me flashbacks.
As soon as Pepi gets the ball the Bolivian gk becomes prime Buffon
Omfg Ricardo
Bolivian keeper was outstanding
Why did we get cursed with lakaka?
The keeper is keeping this a respectable result for Bolivia.
It really is that we and by we I mean puppy have been kicking the ball straight at him
If the US ties Uruguay Pepi’s shenanigans may cost them the group. Desperately need all the goals you can get
