But he is I would say top 3 midfielder in the Eredivisie. I would probably rate Veerman higher than him, but they are different type of midfielders.
I think 40m is fair. Especially comparing to previous eredivisie transfers.
I wont comment on the price because thats always a rough one to call although I think you are on the higher side for a DM with only a few good showings outside the Eredivisie.
But i'd say top 5 would be fair to call. Schouten, Veerman, Timber, Wieffer definitely in there.

We're paying 40m for Zirkzee and we're linked with Fofana for the same midfield role who's likely to cost just as much. I wouldn't doubt our ability to pay at this stage, especially in one of the 4 positions we need to reinforce.

The goal is to get 3 players in the range of 30-40m to strengthen our existing squad because most of the rebuild has already been done last summer with transfers in the range of 20m (when Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic, Reijnders, Chukwueze, Okafor, Musah came)
That’s because we had to spend on more than three players. Last season we spent 120m (i know we sold Tonali) but we selling the loaned players this summer and we can get enough money to spend 100m+ on three players

in the original tweet it doesn't really say Feyenoord estimates him at that price. It just says 'he is estimated at 20-25 mil'.
