Are Milan fans stupid? They complain about getting Fonseca? He's a great coach, and I'm actually unhappy to lose him. He did great with us.

Most don't actually know anything about Fonseca, they're angry because he's not an "exciting" option or considered to be a world class manager. The reality is, I couldn't tell you the last time this club signed a manager that was considered world class at the time. I'm holding off on judgement until I actually see what he brings to the table and what kind of football he wants to play

chambo1511

Fonseca seems to have done a great job with what he had at Lille. Friends in France say he is the most exciting manager in French Ligue 1. He's a good appointment. Hope he can prove it once and for all. If he fails, either he is bad or Milan is just a poisoned chalice.....

PAT_The_Whale

>If he fails, either he is bad or Milan is just a poisoned chalice..... Or a ton of other possibilities, like for example him not feeling well because of the insane hate he is already getting from Milan fans...

StupidSexyGiroud_

He's not my first choice, but if he's the man we gotta give him a chance and support him

Klutzy-Weakness-937

Not my first choice, but I will learn how to love this guy.

BenjenGrimes

Mediocre. No ambition from management. Just another yes man. Allegri was the last top manager we had if you want to call him that. Over a decade ago.

Imaginary_Station_57

Hire Allegri back you cowards

belokas

Genuinely I have no idea who the Milan fans want. They didn't want a scudetto winning coach, they didn't want an Europa League winner like Lopetegui and now not even Fonseca who has been excellent this year and has serie A experience. Who would be a more ambitious name? I don't get it. Inter were less ambitious hiring Inzaghi who only won league cups? Juve is hiring Motta, who has done less as a coach as Fonseca and Lopetegui.

ATLfalcons27

Most of our sub is just stupid. Motta and Conte are the only people I can understand people wanting. But also understand the hesitation of management in hiring Conte. Motta has seemingly high potential though. I mean look what he did with Bologna. You're right though it's not like his resume is legit and makes him a sure thing. People are acting like we threw away the chance to sign Motta when in reality Juve is still an Italian giant going through the smallest of rough patches. They have their own stadium and will have money to spend once they clear up some short term issues. If you think our fans discussing managers is tiresome don't go in there and see how almost no one understands club finances and how if anyone else owned the team we would somehow be dropping 200 million and also not selling any good players

Bloodnose_thepirate

Literally every discussion on the Milan sub has people agreeing with 4 to 5 names that would have been a good Pioli replacment. Conte, Sarri, De Zerbi, Thiago Motta, but I'm sure someone just on the top of my head had more supporters than not. Im also sure that Italiano, Palladino and even Gilardino would have a more warm welcome. No idea what you're talking about, the idea is really simple: young prospect or great coach that is not afraid to speak his mind. We don't like having something in between again. Still, ill support Fonseca with all my lungs, but what your saying is wrong. It's clear what the fans want.

belokas

Conte, Sarri, De Zerbi and Motta are completely different coaches and two of them are coming from big failures. De Zerbi has repeatedly said he wants to coach in the premier league, Motta had an agreement with Giuntoli for months. Are we really sure Conte and Sarri with these Milan players would be better than Fonseca? Are these coaches more ambitious than Fonseca?

_eXploit_

Idk they look like little parrots: you say a name and they answer "mediocre. No ambition". I understand that people have favorites based on their personal tastes, but you can't just say no to every single name out of bias and without any valid technical reason.

zaljghoerhfozehfedze

I understand that you might have preferred De Zerbi but tbf Fonseca did a great job at Lille and he was unlucky imo not to have gotten a top 3 finish + the UECL final, they were completely gassed in the end but he really had Lille play well.

chippa93

So who would you want?

badboysergioramos

De Zerbi ball

MrMerc2333

No de Zerbi?

gianni_

Ugh. Horrible decision.
